Congrats. Positive thinking is what will get you through the rough stages in the next few weeks. Hope you have a quick and smooth recovery.

Getting all my liquids in; still only at 32-40 oz. a day. I have no problem eating chicken, put it in the crock pot with some Soup or chicken broth & taco seasoning if you like spicy; it'll be very tender and the tummy may like it better. Good luck, and great job on the loss.

You can have popcorn and steak again; at about 6 months post-op. You just won't want to eat the entire bucket or steak...a few bites and you'll be satisfied. No reason to say goodbye....it's just "see ya later"

Traci J. got a reaction from Nicki13 in walking..isnt it hard already?
Just do a few laps around your house a few times a day. And roll your ankles and "air walk", it still works the muscles and gets your blood flowing. Once the weight starts coming off you'll feel much better and can increase it. Good luck with your surgery, hope you have a quick and smooth recovery.

Here's my opinion of lunchables: Way expensive for low-quality food... throw a piece of meat into a zip lock bag with a cheese stick and save a bunch of money.

Sounds like they need to be educated a little more on the surgery and how just "not so easy" it truly is. Maybe you should have them visit the site and read all the posts. When my aunt had gastric bypass 2 years ago I had the same thought, "she's taking the easy way out. If I can't lose it on my own, I must not want it bad enough".....but I do want it, and failed for over 10 years now to lose. After seeing all the problems my aunt had, who honestly didn't follow any of the rules given and being 2 years out and still throwing up with most foods..I really didn't want to have the surgery. But then I was diagnosed with diabetes and decided to research, as I really didn't want the gastric bypass. I am almost 4 weeks now with my sleeve and am so glad I did it. I left the hospital off my diabetes medication, and the weight and inches are coming off steadily. I have had absolutely no problems at all, other than still trying get all my liquids in. I feel very lucky though, as some haven't been so lucky. But everyone is different and as long as you're prepared and ready for this journey, you will do great. And soon enough, when they see how great you're doing....I bet they may just rethink it themselves to. I think they're just scared is all. Anyway, good luck and I wish you the best.

Congratulations and go you for sticking to your guns and going through with it. Let me ask you something....are they more supportive now that you've lost 100 lbs or are they still putting you down for your decision? Either way, you must always follow your heart....your soul will thank you for it.

Actually smoking can cause ulcers in your stomach, and make healing more difficult. My aunt quit prior to her surgery because they wouldn't do it unless she did; she then went right back to it and had a bleeding ulcer and was told to quit or it would never heal.

Traci J. got a reaction from smallbird in Support help, some members found out =(
But you are doing it on your own, the sleeve is only a tool and you can gain weight back later if you're not careful. And who cares what they think or say anyway? You did this for you and for your own reasons, and if they can be supportive, then screw em. You shouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed about doing something to help you live a better life. Keep your head up and flaunt it when you got it

My nut told me it only lasts for about 2 months and that some say Biotin helps. I'd say only wash every other day, and don't do anything to it, no blow drying, curling, gels, coloring or anything. Massage your head daily to help stimulate new growth. Good luck. I will be complaining of the same thing in 2 1/2 months I'm sure....but it's a small price to pay for what I've gained (lost)

My surgeon and nut said you lose the most in the first 6 months, then should continue to lose slowly until about a year out....then you're on your own to keep going.
