Traci J. got a reaction from kflan in Scared this surgery wont work for me!
I had a similar experience. No pain after surgery and haven't had any trouble with food. I still, however, am not able to get my 64 oz. of liquid in a day and I'm a month out. As far as food, I have been sticking to the program and not eating things forbidden at this stage, but what I have been able to eat I haven't had any problem with. I can only eat about 2-3 oz. at a time before I get the pain and burping...so I stop. I don't want to get sick. We all heal differently and our tummies can all handle foods differently. Try not to compare to anyone else and as long as your feel good, don't worry about it. It will work for you, even if it's slowly. Good luck!

Hey love, just calm down and breath. This fear and second guessing your decision is normal right before surgery. I am one month out, and I had NO problems. I never used my pain pump in the hospital, didn't have gas pains I couldn't handle, and haven't had any problems since. No vomiting, nausea, sliming, BM problems...nothing. Everyone handles surgery differently, and it's not an easy thing, but every day it gets better and easier. Just remember why you chose to have the surgery and keep your focus on the end result, and I'm sure you will do great. Good luck!

I did take my measurements and have lost 8.5", all from my waist up! It needs to switch to below the belt next month.....keeping my fingers crossed. lol

Pure Protein mixes well. I've only tried the vanilla, mix it with 4 oz. water/4 oz. Trop50 OJ and it tastes like a dreamcicle. YUM!

You can always find a different surgeon. All the things you've done that your insurance requires can still be used. If you're not happy now, how will you feel following the surgery if you were to have a problem? Hope everything works out for you. Good luck!

I posted that I ate half a Big Mac and still eat a crispy creme donut if I crave one. Several people gave their opinions.and how I didnt care about my health.....but several more sent me private messages, 11 different people to be exact, that wanted some advice because they had kids and the grazing and snacking was getting the best of them, but were scared to ask for it on this forum because of the tongue lashing some people give when your veer from the HEALTHY path. Everyone is not the same, our needs, wants and lifestyles are different. There are people reading the forum who are intimidated by your perfection....give us who arent as perfect a break.

Congrats. I was on Metformin myself, but they released me from the hospital the day after surgery off of it, and that was the main reason for me having the surgery. Wasn't expecting such quick results though. The weight loss is just a bonus.

Welcome doll. I am in NC to. I to have no support in my area and I don't personally know anyone that has had the sleeve, but I have made some great people on this site. It is a great place for support. I know several people that had the gastric bypass, but I didn't want to have my intestines rearranged or have the vomiting/dumping and food restrictions. I basically chose the sleeve because I wanted my stomach to function like normal, just be smaller for the permanent Portion Control, and so far that's exactly what it's been. I am a month out tomorrow and haven't had any problems since my surgery. I'm not hungry, ever, but eat every 3-4 hrs. as my nut told me to. I'm still not able to get in my 64 oz. of Water a day, but my nut wasn't too worried about it as long as I don't show signs of dehydration and to at least try to get 48 oz. The breath thing gets better when you can eat a little bit more foods (carbs), my husband said mine was horrible for the first couple weeks. I kept sugar free peppermint hard candies to suck on at work so I wouldn't offend anyone, but luckily I have my own office and don't converse with alot of people face to face. I have very thick hair myself, but am still a little worried that I'll lose more than I want,...even though it doesn't really start for 3-4 months post-op. If it starts look'n cruddy I'll just get it cut to my shoulders and grow it back out when the Hair loss stops. Might want to try Biotin, I heard that helps with the hair and nails. Congratulations on your surgery and I wish you the best of luck. Keep in touch...

I'd try to focus on the Protein over the grits and crackers. Just make sure to eat slow when trying new foods...I didn't have any problems. If you find something bothers your tummy, stop and try again in a few days. Try to find your tell that you're full; I get a pain and then start burping. When I get that...I stop eating. You should only be able to hold 1/4c. if even that right now. Good luck, and enjoy.
