Glad to hear. Was yours done with the robot? Mine was, and I had no pain and haven't any problems since my surgery....I really think it's because of the robot, Hope everything continues to go smooth for you. .

It's the ketosis, and you will have that taste for quite a while, along with really bad breath. Suck on sugar-free mints, that helps with both. It will go away eventually. Good luck on your journey!

Stalls can last for awhile. If you haven't already, I'd take your measurements because when the scale stops moving is usually when your body is catching up by losing inches. I am 3 1/2 mo. out and stalled for a good 3 weeks and am only down 44 lbs....but I've lost over 18" and am down 3 sizes. Don't get discouraged...it will start up again.

    Traci J. got a reaction from Xath101 in Bread...Why did I do it? :(
I am 2 months out and had a grilled cheese sandwich last night and didn't have a problem....I was scared I would though as it was the 1st bread I've had also other than a very little bite here and there. Maybe you just ate it too fast, or too much?? I'd try again in a few weeks and just eat slower and less and see if you have better tolerance.

You can also make manicotti or lasagna but instead of using noodles, cut zuchinni length wise, very thin and grill so it's a little crispy. It tastes just as good, and you're getting a veggie

Your body is "catching up" to the loss. If you haven't already, take your measurements because you'll usually lose inches when you're not losing the weight. Your scale will drop once your body adjusts....I'm 2 months out and stalled the 1st time for a 10 days and the 2nd time for 2 weeks...so I'm down 32 lbs. in 2 months, but I've also lost 12" and am down 2 sizes. Hang in there!

But you said it yourself, that person has never been overweight and doesn't understand why people are obese. I myself never had a weight problem until my adult years, after a car accident took me from being extremely active to non-active for 2 years and the weight slowly kept piling on. It's not like anyone wants to be obese, or chooses this life, but things happen. I have done the high Protein, low carb (same as post-op diet) in the past, along with many other things like WW and exercise..., and guess what...they didn't work. I had been at the same weight +/- 5 lbs. for 12 years prior to my sleeve. The reason I ended up having WLS is because I was told last year i was diabetic and was put on metformin. I didn't want to live with diabetes, and figured the risk of the surgery was way less than that of the diabetes. I went into the hospital a diabetic and left the hospital the next day not one. I am now one month out and down 21 lbs. last time i checked and food no longer controls me. I'm never hungry and now eat to survive, not because it tastes good or I have to clear my plate like I was told to when I was younger. Now I can have a bite or 2 of foods I like and am satisfied, but the great thing is, is I no longer crave carbs...at all. I don't want the ice cream, pizza, bread, Cookies, etc. that I used to love. I just have no interest in them anymore. Anyway, everyone has their own reasons for having WLS, and as long as you are absolutely sure it is the best thing for you then you need to do it. This is YOUR life and you must live it for you first. Best of luck to you, and whatever you chose I hope it's the best choice for you.

I wish they carried the strawberry to; I might ask them if they can order me a case of it. I'd get it off the website but with S&H it's ridiculous. I'll just add berries to the vanilla. 2tsp. of lemon pudding in the vanilla is AWESOME!

My husband was pretty much the same way. But in the end he was just worried about me dying on the table. Now that it's done, he has actually began to watch his own diet better. Your wife won't need to plan meals much, at least not for you, because you probably won't be hungry post-op and when you are you will need to focus on Protein first. Once you are able to eat regular foods again, you can eat whatever you want, just only a few bites. I told my hubby he was on his own for dinners until I could eat more and then I'd start cooking again. He was ok with that....so maybe tell your wife not to worry about it creating more work for her, cause if anything it'll be alot less.
