  1. If you drink beforehand, it takes up space in your stomach so you can't eat as much. If you drink during or right after it'll help wash the food out of your stomach so you're not "full" as long and will tend to eat more often....that is if you're hungry at all. I'm never hungry anyway, so I don't have to worry about that.... yet.

  2. If your Dr. and/or Nut tells you it is. Follow their advise, just because others can eat more at this point than you doesn't mean they have the same issues you may have. Your starting weight, medical conditions, etc..all play a role. Just hang in there, once you're past the liquid phase it'll be a distant memory. It's all part of the process to the new, improved you. Good luck!

  3. I'm surprised you're at 1200-1500 calories a day at 21 days out. My nut told me to stay at 600-700 calories and I'm one month out tomorrow. At 3 months out, depending on my weight loss, she said she may increase me to 900 calories a day. I know every Dr. has their own rules, but 1200 calories is more what you'd do for maintenance. And as the earlier poster said, take measurements because you will lose inches while you're in a stall.

  4. Have you tried warm, cold and room temp drinks? Maybe you just need to find the right one you can tolerate and drink as much as possible. I find decaf iced tea is much easier for me to drink alot of then plain water. I'm a month out tomorrow and still only getting in about 32 oz. a day of liquids...but no dehydration yet (knock on wood). Hope things improve for you. Great job on the weight loss. I hope to see that same number tomorrow :)

  5. Try not to think too much about it because you may not have any problems. I've been on mushy foods and have never had any vomiting, sliming or anything. I agree with Karen on not trying new things unless you're at home, just in case you do get sick. Just pay attention to your tell. I get a little pain in my sternum and then I will start to burp....so I stop eating. Measure your foods, no more than 1/4c. at a time, even if you can handle more, until you get used to what your tell will be. Good luck....it's nice getting to eat some protein instead of drink it all the time. Good luck!

  6. Thanks love, but I have had no problem with milk. I've used in my protein shakes, eggs, and in my decaf coffee. I honestly haven't had any problems with any foods yet, although I haven't tried any meats other than lunch meat yet. But I'm hoping I do well with chicken, tuna, shrimp and hamburger.

  7. I can relate to everything you were saying. I am a carbaholic and knew I'd never lose the weight on my own, considering I've been trying for 10+ years without the scale moving. I was sleeved exactly 2 weeks ago today, and as of Monday, 12 days post-op I was 15 lbs. down and 7" smaller. I already sleep better, have no numbness upon waking and my clothes are much looser. I'm loving my sleeve, and I'm sure you will to. The hassle you have to go through to get it, and the pain and liquid diet following are a pain, but are well worth it. Just keep your eyes on the prize and you'll be fine. Good luck on your journey to a new you!
