I have been considering the gastric sleeve surgery since March of this year 2012. I have been over weight for the past 20 years and recently quit smoking and I have gained 50 lbs. I have tried and tried to loose the weight and have been on a yo-yo for at least 3 years. I really need to loose 100 lbs to get healthy. I've recently been diagnosed with diabetes and my physician told me I can get off all the medications if I would just loose the weight. When I first mentioned the surgery to him he would only support me on the gastric sleeve surgery. He said it was the least invasive of the three and I've been consulting with him for the past 6 months, due to my intent of having the surgery and insurance requirements. I'm seeing my surgeon for the first time next week and I'm really getting nervous about the procedure but excited at the same time.. if that makes sense. I weight over 250 and cannot seem to get control of it. I need and want a life change. I'm ready.
