Okay..i'm almost 33 and have never had a BF and when i was talking with someone it went weird too after I told him..lol.. I dont think its horrible - i just think as you are working thru your weight loss you're gonna have to work thru dating until you find someone who is okay or understands there is not always something wrong with a person who has not been in a relationship. I see it like its not me that has the problem..its them! Sorry if i havent dated every man i've met..oh well!! LOL Keep telling the truth! Meet people, make friends, date, hang out, enjoy the life you are creating for yourself!

Dense foods such as steak require real concentration on my part. Chew, chew, chew, and don't eat too much or to the bathroom I must run. It takes some of the charm out of good food to see it the second time.

The title says it all - I immediately start fretting that I am not at goal so i cant do a commercial - then on to I need tooth whitening strips, to get some self tanner and some clothes that actually fit haha. I will let you guys know how it goes. My hubby will most likely be in it as well (though I have not told him yet haha) he's down 130+ lbs. since his own VSG two weeks before my own and is right at goal - waaaaay soooner than we ever expected.
If we do end up doing this i will be sure to post a link.

Half way to goal. it's amazing what you can see in pictures. If you aren't taking pictures, you should! Your progress is much more visible in pics than it is in the mirror.

So I'm in month five now... My surgery is tentatively scheduled for 1/2/2013 (moved it two days b/c I'm going with a MUCH lower deductible insurance selection next year). So that means liquid diet starts around 12/18-ish... Now I'm thinking "I'll not be able to eat this ever again... I'm going to have some now..." and I'm supposed to be on the supervised weight loss program.. problem is im only going up and down a couple of pounds each visit. It's getting harder to focus on losing weight through diet b/c I keep thinking "ooh I want this tonight" or "ooh I want that tonight" etc. Anyone else understand what I'm saying and where I'm coming from? lol

Actually this isnt strange. When we eat to little the body can stall and hold on and increasing food intake/calories is the best rememdy.

I have to chime in on this post. I am only a month out today however I stalled 3 times and the only way to break my stalls was to increase my calories. Sounds strange but thats what worked for me.

I was just talking to someone very close to me about this topic last night. I already started being active and cut out on fast foods (except for my emotional run to Mickey D's a few days ago). I started some strength training on my own and cannot wait to have my surgery.
Even though I don't completely agree with the initial posting, I do understand that the first few months are the most critical for our weight loss goals and I will take advantage of it.
    Thanks for the advice!

My experience doesn't sound much like yours at all. I never did 500 calories -- got up to 1000+ as soon as I could, and ate at least 1000 cals per day from like six weeks post-op. After a few months it was 1200-1500, and now it's 1500-2000. I've lost just fine, and worked out not at all the first nine months, then started going to the gym three times a week. But multiple-hour workouts are not really necessary IMO. I'm almost two years out now and still losing slowly here and there, not with some huge extra effort or anything. I think the honeymoon period is a 'thing' but after the honeymoon you're still married as it were.

I agree you have to try your best the first 6 months to a year and change ur life around, but IMO, you do not need to work out four hours a day. 1-2 hours is plenty, and if u do things right, your body will still burn afterwards, after an hour or two or working out, your still kinda wasting ur time, because ur body can only do so much and u really don't want to over exhaust ur body. Keep ur calories low, carbs and fats low, and drink that Water, it will pay off whether u lose fast or slow.

    Howdy!
    Today is 4 months....
down 81 pounds from highest and 66 from day of surgery!
I am feeling great....wearing size 16 bottoms and either a large or XL top. I had to buy all new underwear - size 8 thank you (underwear sizes are in their own world, and an 8 is for sizes 14-16, but I am not gonna lie...loved seeing the size 8 on the package!!)
I am still struggling to drink as much Water as I should.....I am trying!!
chips go down WAY to easy...gotta watch that -
    love all things seafood.
And then they ask you..."So, how much weight have you lost??"
I have been very honest with everyone, told them about my surgery....
If I can help ONE person in their journey - then yay....
    But I balk here....
Early on, spoutin' off 20 or 30 pounds was awesome....
I DOn't wangt to tell work associates or acquaintances I have lost the equivalent of a German Sheppard off my ass!!
I Celebrate that with my girl friends, but co-workers are a different breed (pun intended).
The bitchiness is not appreciated, nor do I want to see raised eyebrows as they look at how much further I still have to go and strain to do the mental math to see I was a 300 pounder at one time....
    Gosh NO!
    ANyway -
    That's my monthly check in.
Going strong....going to try and get some intentional work outs in.....
Glad to be a success story.....
Still have never been in pain or puked...
Just get REALLY full REALLY easy -
    Pretty awesome huh?
Oh - here's a pic of my Halloween outfit....I chose not to wear it out of the house....

Started this journey at 300lbs! I lost 33lbs pre-op,I was 267 day of surgery(Oct 9th) as of today(Nov 1) I'm 252.0! It's been rough, not with pain but learning to eat again, and not being able to excersise! His month has flew by so fast I can't believe it! If I could do it over again, I would minus the pain that I was in the first week! Lol, I haven't been on here as much because 2weeks after surgery I moved here to Pennsylvania! So I've been busy! But hopefully I'll post more soon with more weight loss!!!
