  1. My doctor told me I have to get an IUD. Weight gain worries me but my biggest concern is having it put in. I'm very big and had a c-section, I read it is harder to insert if a woman hasn't had a vaginal delivery. Anyone have difficulties? Sent from my iPhone using VST

My hair is coming out by the handful, I try to get all my Protein in but it's not helping. I heard it only lasts a couple months so hopefully I'll still have some hair left. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. I've seen a few people that they had their surgery in MX and weren't sure what to eat or how much protein they needed. I had my surgery through Kaiser and was given a website to get all the food, vitamin and shopping lists. I thought it might help someone if I posted the site. kp.org/misg and click on bariatric surgery

Thanks for all the responses. I wish I could get all my protein in without the shakes. Maybe I could just live on string cheese. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Those of you still drinking protein shakes, what kind do you drink? I'm sick of EAS, don't like the taste of unjury and muscle milk is disgusting. My NUT said I have to drink protein shakes for 3-9 months since there is no way to get 70-90 grams of protein in with just food. I just ordered a sample pack of nectar, I hope those taste good. 6. If I were you, I would wait on the surgery. Maybe you can lose the weight on your own. Will the surgery improve any of your medical conditions? I am 33 and well over 300 pounds, I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and have lost 23 pounds. I understand your concern with having kids, I am a single mother of an 11 year old. I was terrified that I would die and leave her alone. I have a rare medical condition which is the main reason I had the surgery, in hopes it would improve. People say surgery is the easy way out but really it's not. Every day is a struggle and I hate to eat since it always hurts. My opinion is surgery it the very last resort. I wish you luck with your decision. Oh, I also have Gerd and was told the sleeve isn't recommend since it can get worse, mine has been the same and I still take two Prilosec a day. My Battle Wounds!

You can't put anything directly on the incisions. Mine got red around a week after surgery because my skin got irritated from the glue. I went to the doctor and they put polysporin on the red spots to prevent infection. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Frozen Dinner Survey

I prefer smart ones but my NUT was not happy with me yesterday when I told her I had started to eat them again. She said all frozen pre packaged food has high preservatives and to stop eating them. I don't cook so smart ones have always been my diet food and they are high in Protein. I saw Dr. Rahnama and then Katie. I'm suppose to eat 1,000 calories a day and only focus on the protein. Not to worry about fat and carbs since there is no way I could eat enough to go over whatever number that is. Another NUT, another opinion. Sent from my iPhone using VST

So I finally saw my NUT today and she was not happy with me. I'm not taking my B1, not enough protein and I'm not eating anything right. I was told I have to drink 2 protein shakes a day in order to get 70-90 grams a day and no red meat. I have so many things going on around me that I'm already forgetting to take care of myself, there just aren't enough hours in the day. Sent from my iPhone using VST

  12. I have been throwing up for the last 24 hours every time I eat something. A pipe broke at my apartment so I had to move out which means I was lifting and moving heavy stuff. My surgery was 6 weeks ago so my question is do you think I could have tore my stomach? I'm not sure how long I have to worry about leaks. I would appreciate any input. Sent from my iPhone using VST
  13. Thanks everyone, I didn't have a fever so I decided to see how I felt today. Since I'm a little better I think I might have just hurt my stomach moving furniture and lifting things. A pipe broke in my apartment so I had to move out for a week. Sent from my iPhone using VST

From what I was told, the surgeon either uses stitches or glue to seal the incisions, mine were glued. We get one stitch in the muscle since they have to cut through that where the big incision is to pull the stomach through. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I had a pain 1 inch above my big incision, it started to hurt about 2 weeks after surgery. I was told is was the stitch in the muscle forming into the skin. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Today is 6 weeks since surgery, I'm reading everyone's frustration with what they consider slow weight loss so I figure I'll make you feel better by sharing how slow my weight loss is going. I lost 17 pounds the first 2 weeks and nothing since, I have actually GAINED a couple pounds! On top of that I have a lot more to lose than most of you, my goal is to lose 160 pounds and even then I will be considered obese. I eat 800 calories a day, I drink 5 cups of water and get in around 50 grams of protein, I know I'm not getting enough water or protein in but I'm trying. Congratulations on all the weight you have lost, keep up the good work! Sent from my iPhone using VST

I've tried cheese its and wheat thin, no problems at all. I tried a sip of diet coke at 4 weeks but it didn't taste good, I'm almost 6 weeks now and had a sip yesterday and it tasted a lot better. Craving a diet coke right now :-/ I just tried salad for the first time today, I've seen on other posts that we can't have lettuce until 6 months, was anyone told that by their NUT? NG what did you eat today that got you 107 grams of protein? That's great that you did that, I average about 50 a day. Today is 5 weeks for me and it finally happened, I guess I ate too fast and within a minute I threw up. I always eat too fast but never had that happen. I haven't lost any weight in 3 weeks but did gain 7 pounds so I have only lost 13 pounds since surgery. It's crazy that I went from 3,000 calories a day to 600-800 and still can't lose weight. I know I need to start walking but until I get a cortisone shot in my foot next month, it feels like the bone is ripping through my heel. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I have also been hungry lately, every two hours I feel like I'm starving. I tend to eat too fast and then I'm in pain. I'm not sure if I'm allowed almonds yet but I ate them yesterday since its protein. I ate 2 servings, it went down so easy and didn't hurt at all. The only bad thing is its high in calories, 170 a serving which is 1/4 cup. Those of you trying to get extra calories in might want to try almonds. Sent from my iPhone using VST

I will also be heading to Walmart today, so tired of water. I'm at work right now and so hungry, I don't know what to eat anymore. All my coworkers are going to have Tommy's for lunch, I guess I'll eat cottage cheese Sent from my iPhone using VST

NG and Ready, thank you for the support! I'm with you ready, I wish there was a protein pill. I just started taking the b12 but haven't bought the b1 yet. I take the centrum chewable multivitamin, it's $10 at target and my neighbor gave me some $3 off coupons :-) Its hard to learn to take care of myself, I'm use to taking care of everyone else and putting myself last which is how I got as big as I am. I'm going to try to input all my food in MFP so if anyone wants to add me, it's the same name as above. Sent from my iPhone using VST
