    Bubbles

NYE is this week and I'd like to toast the New Year with champagne but I'm nervous about the bubbles upsetting my stomach. I know the only way to know is to try, but I am hoping for some preparatory feedback.

I'm going on 10 months postop. I thought of adding oj a la mimosa style,
  3. I was back in action immediately. Slow. But up and at 'em.
  4. How to find a truly unbiased study? How to convince people it is truly unbiased? Those two objectives consistently prove to be mutually exclusively. I think my "mutually exclusive" statement is both unbiased and accurate but alas, there will be naysayers....

    Dr. Aceves - January 22 2014

I had surgery with Dr. Aceves in March. My experience was really very good. I wrote a detailed account pretty play by play, down to my first "shart" and first postop "poo". Lol! I will post the link.
  8. Probably cheaper than a sleeve surgery. Less chance of a leak. But someone would find a way to eat around it.....I think I could stick donuts in my vitamix and drink them through a straw. Or malted milkshakes.... Mmmmmmm.
  9. Time to go on Shark Tank!!
  10. It's sometimes best to backtrack to a previous stage like purée or full liquids rather than push yourself too far. Go back a stage or two for a week. Then maybe test the waters...

Please Help Me Wrap My Head Around This...

I don't like those galleries. I've looked before but it stresses me out comparing myself to another. In my mind, I'm the one who will always be lacking...

    Compulsive Overeating

Ditto that with OCD, a form called Pure O, and being a compulsive overeater. It can be all consuming.

    What Are You Reading?

The Stand is about the superflu epidemic bad that which follows. A great book but very long! Under the Dome is good. Not horror. More a book on human nature.

    What Are You Reading?

11/22/63 is a great book even if you're not a fan of the horror genre. I lost hours of sleep due to that book because I couldn't stop reading it...
  21. My family has been wonderfully supportive and my aunt and uncle have had WLS too. RNY and the sleeve. When the subject comes up it's more about sharing info and helping. Those who've never had are more curious than critical.

    What Are You Reading?

I just reread Gone Girl. Looooove that book. Just finished Sycamore Road. It was a good read. The Stand is a kickass King book. If you haven't yet, I suggest 11/22/63 by King.

I agree that is not productive to generalize people. And there is huge difference between "addict" and bad habits. I had a similar wine habit and I saw its potential for becoming more. Scary feeling. Earlier in the thread the OP said they *couldn't* control it, or something to that effect. The OP then agreed they were an addict. Then, as soon as someone said "it's okay you cheated" they latched onto that post like a lifeline. I'm not saying they do or don't need therapy. I guess I'm saying therapy shouldn't be suggested or dismissed flippantly or offhandedly. People are wont to do just that...

A self proclaimed food addict doesn't need therapy for her "inability" to control her eating?
