I know how you feel, and you've got some great advice so far...I concur with the other posts...I am two months out and still having low energy levels...I too struggle with the balance of calories, Fluid, and protein...most days after work I can just barely get in a 20-minute walk...I think we all just have to do the best we can and realize we are going through major lifestyle changes as well as surgery recovery...hang in there!

tigerbelle reacted to jensjoy28 in May sleevers! How much have you lost so far?
I was sleeved May 8 @ 310 pounds...as of this morning I am down 53 pounds to 257...had my 3 mo (a bit early) appointment today and I am exactly where I am supposed to be on my surgeon's chart...next goal is at 6 mo., and if I keep pace, I'll be 220 (90 lbs lost). Feeling good, have little to no hunger, portion size is typically between 3-4 oz that I do 3 meals a day and my activity level over past few weeks has been 3-4 days a week for 50 min sessions (group boot camp classes). Going to try barre method classes starting next month as I have heard it is EXCELLENT for toning.

I think it's a possibility, or you can wash food out of your stomach faster and not feel full for long. I can definitely tell when I'm not ready to drink after a meal. The thought of it makes me feel uncomfortable. So it's not difficult to be compliant. My surgeon only requires 10 or 15 minutes to stop drinking before you eat and half an hour after eating to drink. I find that I can stop drinking about 5 minutes before eating if needed (like when eating out) and I'm fine. But sometimes I wait 45 minutes after eating to drink.

well char-broiled or grilled seafood is not a bad option (or so I tell myself LOL)...and it was difficult not to grab a fried shrimp off my cousin's po-boy...for some reason the french fries weren't tempting me at least

tigerbelle got a reaction from TES in getting close altered
I agree with Kim...I would only opt for that if the clothes were costly ones (like the formal business suits you describe)...I am considering the same option for some formal dresses I have that I only wear for "elegant" night on cruises...I am going on a cruise in October and will need at least one formal dress...I think it will be more cost-effective to alter one or two of the ones I have than to go buy new ones (since I don't expect to be at goal weight by October by any means)...also, I actually love the dresses I have and am not sure I could even find replacement ones I liked as well

We share a sleeve date! I'm not trying too many new foods yet. I do 6 mini meals a day. Some stand bys for me are hot choc /decaf (15g) . 2 light mozzarella string cheese (12g). Chobani Lemon Greek Yogurt (15g). Boars Head Ever-roast deli chicken 2 oz (13g). Al Fresco chicken sausage (14g). Morningstar Spicy Black Bean Burger (11g).1 pouch tuna/1/2 c 1% cottage cheese (31g). Gortons Simply Bake Tilapia (20g). Unjury Protein Powder 1 scoop/8 oz skim milk (29g) and sometimes I add 2 T of PB2 which brings it to 34g. Each one of these standbys is 1 mini meal for me. I don't have room for anything after eating it. Don't eat them all on the same day but keep my cals under 900 for the day. I shoot for 90g a day. Good luck with your journey sis! Sorry for the run on paragraph. My enter key is not working ONLY on this website. Hopefully tech will get it figured out as it does curtail me from posting as often as I like.

I would say it would definitely be worth it!! You can get then altered close to the time you need them...much cheaper than getting all new suits that you prob won't wear very long!!

I am actually impressed with myself that I was able to almost completely avoid temptation while spending the day in N'awlins in the French Quarter today...I went with my cousin visiting from CT and some other family members...I avoided alcohol, even though the Hurricanes at Pat O's were a few steps away...avoided getting a daiquri even though every other adult had one in a go cup...at lunch while my companions had fried seafood po-boys, fries and onion rings, I had a small bowl of shrimp and andouille gumbo without rice and ate about 2/3 of it...didn't even have a cracker much less a slice of yummy French bread...went into Cafe DuMonde and watched most people downing delicious beignets, and of course didn't have any...went into a cafe and had a cup of coffee, and our table ordered two Desserts to share...by this time, I do confess I did have to cheat and have one small bite/taste of each dessert--a small splurge but worth it, especially the yummy cheesecake bite...all in all, as far as food temptation avoidance, I was fairly proud of myself...now let's not talk about the non-food shopping temptations and how I dealt with that

that is one way of looking at it...but I offer the alternative of taking the stance that you don't need to prove anything to anyone...you are accountable to one person only--yourself! focus on your own initiative in making this decision and having the courage to go forward
