Pre-Op Surgery Cost - Directed Bill

Slight correction.... My Dr. Is $900 and my 10% for the hospital is $900.... So almost $2,000 total.

    Ticker

I had to figure that out myself today! I went to "My patient Profile" and updated my weight. After I did that, I expected my ticker to be updated but it wasn't. I went to my tickers and edited it, and by the time I got to weight, it had been updated. So I saved the info, but my ticker still wasn't updated. It actually took about 5 minutes before it updated. So, long story short.... I think if you update your weight in My Patient Profule, it will take a few minutes, but it will update your ticker. Good luck!!

Pre-Op Surgery Cost - Directed Bill

When I'm all done, I will have paid about $1,000.00. My insurance pays 90%. My Dr., however, offers lifetime nutrionist and exercise trainer visits.... So that should be all that i pay- ever.
  4. Well, I'm 8 days away from surgery and am getting a lot of info and inspiration from everyone on this site. I thought I'd start a blog of this adventure so I can look back in a year from now and be thankful for my new healthy self. I am six days into my preop diet. I can only have 3-4 protein shakes per day, SF jello, SF Popsicles, and clear broth. The first 3-4 days were pure hell. I was very hungry and accidentally cheated on the first day. I forgot I wasn't supposed to eat, and had a handful of movie theatre popcorn. I guess that shows how I used to mindlessly eat. After then, almost every night, I dream that I eat real food then suddenly remember I can't... I guess guilty conscience. I haven't told anyone but my husband, mom, and two close friends. I have three children and haven't even told them. No, it's not because they are too young and won't understand.... They are 18, 15, and 12. I guess maybe I don't want to worry them and I don't want them to say anything to others?!?! Why why why is there a negative stigma with WLS??? Maybe it's just me??? Maybe I'll feel better about telling people when it's over and I'm Successful?? Either way, hardly anyone knows.
  5. I need lessons on how to work this site! Lol

  6. Yes, 3-4 per day. Then I can also have clear broth, sugar free jello, and sugar free Popsicles. :)

  7. Well, I should have trusted everyone! I'm now 6 days into my 2-week pre-op clear liquids, and it's really not that bad!!

    Protein Shakes

Well, I was really hoping to find more recipes in this group. . I may not have a true recipe, but I found something to make protein shakes a little more palatable. I'm only on my third day of the pre-op diet. The first day I thought "these protein shakes are actually pretty good". The next day I thought "well, at least they're not THAT bad". Then today I'm thinking "how in the world am I ever going to live off these things?"????? Then I had an idea. I put some peppermint extract in my chocolate shake. To my surprise it made it so much better! Tomorrow I'm going to try banana in vanilla, and others. I'll let you know how it goes!

    Introduce Yourself!

Congrats! I'm in the Salt Lake area and am scheduled for the sleeve on Sept. 18th with Dr. Cottam! Any words of advice for someone just 3days into her pre-op liquids?

    Surgery Date?

Sept. 18th! Anyone else on clear liquids for two weeks? I noticed some say clear liquids, but then say they can eat one Lean Cuisine, or two Vegis, fruit, etc. ... I'm talking full liquids!! Jello is as close to food as I get. It's hard to make dinner for my family, sit at the table with them (I'm not willing to lose dinner time with them), and drink a protein shake.
  11. I know there are already several posts about this subject, but I guess I just have to complain.... I am on day 3 of my two-week liquid pre-op diet, and I'm STARVING!!! My surgeon required lclear liquids only for two weeks pre-op. from what I can see, that's kind of unusual. I CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!
