Kapoorvilla reacted to Lissa_S in Revision consult tomorrow...sick to my stomach!
I didn't have the band but went straight for the sleeve. i had complications and a two month hospital stay. BUT I am four and a half months out from my original surgery and have lost almost 55 kg. The tracker below will give you this in pounds (I'm an Aussie so we use metric lol). Though I wouldn't recommend the surgery to anyone, after my own experience even with the complications, I can't argue with the amazing results Good luck with your decision! Don't take it lightly but don't be scared either - be very sure before you proceed. Trust me, you need to have been very clear with yourself why you're doing this particularly if things go wrong, cause it will help you through the tough times. Cheers, Lila

I hear all of you and logic say your right. I have read many of the stall and breaking stalls threads but the reason we have so many repeat thread is when it is happening to you, it is just unbelievable and frustrating and there is a need to vent.
The calorie in/ calorie out thoughts come from another thread where a moderator said the sleeve is prove of that being true.
Righ now I am battling two lines of thought. One says listen to the voices that say 500 to 600 calories and hardly no carbs that will make me lose, then the other say what I am doing 1000 calorie and around 70 carbs makes me feel like I am not even on a diet I have diet so many years that seems doable forever and therefore equals a truer lifestyle change.
Then a third line of thought says do the 500-600 and extremely low carb to lose and the 1000 calorie a day healthy foods to maintain. I am leaning toward the third thought at this point.

Kapoorvilla got a reaction from Losing weight in Weight stall
I have been in a stall for 35 days no inches and no pounds lost. I just started a thread about it before I saw this. I keep calories under 1000 every day and per my surgeon's order was keepin carbs under 70 but I think I am going to return to the liquids and very low carbs I am sick of this stall. Perhaps I can take it off with liquid and keep it off with restricted eating.

Anyone on a pre-op plan would have lost that already.

Keep in mind that the exact same thing would have happened if you had not been sleeved and just ate what you ate. It's just that you have invested much money and suffering and expect a result from it. Very understandable. I would mortgage my house and bet the money that you will drop eventually with the great discipline you are showing.
I have been through many illogical stalls in the last year. Your body doesn't care about math. It does what it does and doesn't tell you why. Brats, aren't they?

I think there are two line of thought on VST those who have decided after having this surgery they will never eat another unhealthy food ever and they will become the fitness Queens and Kings. Then there are those who just wanted to stop the ever expanding body and hopefully see loss while having a normal relationship with food. It is like the Dems and Republicans in the USA each side wants it their own way and views the other side as trying to sabatoge and destroy. We even had a conspiracy theory played out when a sister opted about her sisters near death experiance.

I cant believe you are so inconsiderate of the fact that this girl has basically lost her sister!! She shared her experience and due to what she witnessed first hand I dont blame her for feeling this way. Your rudeness or shall I say IGNORANCE is not what this sight is about. If the tables were turned you wouldnt feel this way. Thank God for your health cause this could have easily happened to anyone of us who choose to have this WLS. I just cant believe people are so FULL OF EVIL like this. I pray you really re- read what you wrote and do a self check of your attitude towards this women. We all have said things we regret I hope you look deep within and reconsider what you posted. You owe this women an APOLOGY! I dont know if you will but if Sista-Sists see this post I APOLOGIZE to you for such cruel words. I pray that God will touch your sister's body and turn this whole thing around. I know God (Jesus Christ) is a healer and I pray for a miracle to take place in your sister life. Spreading LOVE is easier than HATE.

While you may strongly disagree with the OP, there is no need to resort to name calling. The name caller is the one put in an unfavorable light, and it is against the forum policies.

Kendra, everyone should be able to post their stories and not be berated for doing so. This is their experience with the sleeve and while it is very uncommon, it is a risk. People researching the sleeve should know this and be totally informed. While you are stating your opinion, the OP also has the right to state theirs.
Everybody's life stories are different. Some people are completely content being morbidly obese. Some people have tried dozens of weightloss options failing them miserably (me). We all have our reasons to either have surgery or try other means to live a healthier life. "Normal" people are usually ignorant of these struggles. I know my wife was and I am quite happy that she is ignorant of these struggles. I wouldn't wish them on anyone.

You are doing the right thing to try on your own first. Give it your best shot. To loose it on your on is always better. If you can do it and keep it off that will be wonderful. If you find out you can't then you know you did not enter into this lightly.

Congrats to all those loosing! For those on the stall try eating every three hours! It worked for me. I was stall for two weeks. I was only getting 700 to 800 calories. I pushed it up to about 1000 eating every three hours. Made sure I got Protein and fluids. I was so glad to see the scale move again.

I can't tell you the number of people who ask this. Whle on liquids most feel no restriction. Once you start purée and even more so when you start soft foods. No worries you will fill restrictions.

No explanation of the cause except maybe a faulty staple. Nothing I did wrong. Possibly because I'm way more nauseous and vomit a lot more than I should. It's better but not "corrected" it's hard to "correct" a problem like that. The leak itself is thought to be closed but being in the hospital do long and all the other things that have to be done to keep me alive are causing problems. Leaks are life threatening. It's a serious thing to think about.

One thing I noticed was how much less I need to feed everyone now. It was a reality check to how much I was really eating.
This life to a healthier way has been a journey. We no longer fry or bread meats and veggies. Process foods are alot less. Sodas are out long ago. The trick is to do things gradually. I never make anyone feel like they have to but both my children and my husband have slimmed down not even knowing they were making an effort. They were never big but better eating couple with a busy schedule full of fun activities has made them very healthy!

Ladies feel your pain I lost really good first two weeks then stalled and even gained third week. Finally I have broken through. I begin to eat every three hours. Taking my surgoens advice I uped my calories a bit from 600-700 to 1000. This would help get me out of starvation mode. I don't know if will help you all but it did me. I know your frustration hope you see less of you soon
