    Drink or eat before workout?

Do you guys try to consume more calories on days that you burn a lot? I'm still having trouble getting over 500 calories in if I am eating right. Sometimes my workout tracker says I've burned more than that. I worry this is bad for the metabolism.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Good. I'm glad it's not just me. If I make ground turkey into taco meat, I can eat 1.5 oz at a time. But never 2 of any meat.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Question! How many ounces of meat can y'all eat at a meal? I still struggle to get more than an ounce in at a time.

    Hcg

I was wondering the same thing. Not really for more loss, but for better fat distribution, as it helps with that too. I used it before an lost 65 lbs. it is not harder then the first few months of post op eating. I have all the stuff fr 2 rounds of injections, but I don't know I it would help or mess up things. I know some of the people that fail at the HCG diet have lasting bad effect on their metabolism.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Down 72 lbs 44 more to go. Just started back at the gym this week. Started C25K. My first 5K is scheduled for Mothers Day. Feels great. Losing a lot of hair, but not enough for other people to notice yet.

How many calories are you burning on average?

Sounds like you are doing great. I find I am super hungry the next day if I burn more than 500cal, as I'm rarely getting in more than that. If you're able to do 45 min to and hour now, you'll likely be way ahead of where I am now 3.5months out. Keep up the great work!
  7. I bought a bariatric vitamin from Walgreens. It was orange flavor, would be great if it was once a day, but its not its four per day. Redic! So, I take l take Wellesse calcium twice a day and centrum at night. Also take biotin and b-12

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

I have liked Dr Garcia's Facebook page. It looks like he has started doing the single incision for the sleeve. You should check that out.

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

I ha no additional costs and I had an allergic reaction to the tape and had to be given extra medicine. I wasn't charged for that extra medicine.

    Dr. Fernando Garcia

I think there was a few problems with a lighter me and Dr Garcia requested that they not send him anymore patients. So, there is the root of the bad mouthing. Dr Garcia was great, I went with a branch of a lighter me, but if someone asks me, I tell them to look up ready for a change. I really liked all the people at a lighter me and the experience would have been really great if there had been less people scheduled. But their lack of a big vehicle was a big issue the whole time we were down there. No matter who you book through, Dr Garcia was a really nice doctor. You will like him.

    November 5Th Sleevers?

Only when I'm sick. Like now. Then after a couple days of only drinking tea and water, it feels like there is super restriction again.

    Itching

I had blisters from the adhesive and when they healed there was massive itching. It was very hard not to scratch, but itching is sometimes part of the healing process. I've noticed since surgery the tops of my hands itch like crazy all the time, but I haven't seen a doc about it. I had no leak issues, thank goodness. It doesn't hurt to ask the doc.

    Really freaking out.

I was all la la la until I got to the hospital and they started putting the IV in then I freaked out a bit. Like WTH am I doing having surgery in Mexico?! But things went so fast after that I didn't have a chance to freak out more and leave. When I first decided to do surgery though, I lost my appetite for two weeks, I was so nervous. It is all worth it though. If you can make it through the pre op diet, you can make it through the lifestyle change. Have faith, you will do well.
  20. Wasn't referring to you suz. And No, not from the doc, from the coordinator. I don't think that is right at all, so like I said, I gave out my docs name but did not send her through the coordinators I used. Lee, I am doing well. Had my little stall, but starting to lose again down 40 now. sleep is hit and miss, but I am not tired all the time or falling asleep at 6 PM like I did before surgery, so it's all good. Overall, I'm loving this. I am so happy I had surgery. Could stand to go to the gym more though. I bet that would make me sleep more.
  21. I would just like to mention that people should keep in mind that prior patients are offered kickbacks after surgery for sending new referrals. So, any requests for PMs and whatnot to bash a facility or a doctor, you should keep that in mind. I wish I had known that pre op. when I sent a friend to Dr Garcia, I didn't send her through my booking company, because they overbooked us. My doc was only scheduled to do 6 that day, but ended up with 5 after someone left. So, my doc wasn't overbooked, but we only had 1 patient that was traveling alone, and there wasn't enough room in the vans that my booking company had. I'd have to say on the EKG thing, the stickies were not very sticky, so they had a hard time getting a reading. I have hard veins to get into with being a small person with low blood pressure, so I had multiple sticks, but that is the norm for me. I work in medicine, so of course I was comparing everything to care I get in the US. I think the two things I noticed were that the tubes they collect blood in were not vacuum tubes and the Fluid they hung were in hard plastic instead of the flimsy bags we use in the US. Also, they were all labeled by hand. And like i said, the EKG stickies not so sticky. All of this makes the nurses jobs harder, but didn't affect me as a patient. I reacted to the adhesive in the tape and got blisters on my abdomen, which at first I thought was latex exposure, but it wasn't. I used non latex steri strips when I got back to the US and had the same reaction. Turns out I am allergic to the adhesive. There was no way for them to know that as I didn't know myself. I am so happy I went to Dr Garcia. He was a very pleasant man, he explained things well and checked on me multiple times while I was in the hospital. The discharge docs were great too. Dr Luna gave us his number and Email address, so I could contact him if anything came up after surgery. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in. Also, our driver stopped at jack in the box on the way back and some people were all cranky about that, but I really didn't care about that any more than I cared about my friend eating pizza at the airport. It's not like I could have eaten it. Anyway, just wanted to give that disclaimer now that I am aware of the kick backs. I'm sure all will go well with everyone.

    Seattle, Washington anyone?

I haven't seen a Doctor post op yet. I did see a GI doc before I left for TJ who gave me meds to prevent gallstones and did an upper GI to make sure my stomach was OK for surgery. I will go to my reg doc and let her know what labs I need to have watched. If she is not comfortable, I will just have to find someone else. I'm not too worried.

OMG! I HAVE SO SCREWED UP!

I knew if I told my boss, everyone would know. She is not super good with secrets. But I am the lead of my department and I needed to have her understand that I would have limitations when I came back and in order to use my EIB instead of PTO, i had to have a letter from my doc, which says "Bariatric Surgery" right on it. Also, I know I would eventually tell. I did ask that my co workers not tell one doc I work with til after and they didn't. Hope all works out OK.
