For the above recipe I use skim mozzarella and I use 3/4 cups instead of 1 cup. Make sure you get all the moisture out of the cauliflower after you cook it in the microwave, blot it with a paper towel. Also, I still do protien shakes, EAS they are 100 cal but they only have 17 grams of protein, I use those as snacks and they are prepackaged so I can leave them in my car and have them whenever I need them.

I eat refried Beans, Hamburger, canned veggies (very little cause I'd rather have the protein) eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, tuna, chicken, chicken in the can. I can eat between 2 and 4oz depending on what it is. Right now I eat pretty much whatever I want except raw veggies and fresh fruit. I was told not to start those until 6-8 weeks. I don't eat Pasta, rice, bread, sodas or juice and I only use artificial sweeteners. My family had spaghetti and meatballs the other nite and I ate two 2oz meatballs witha little sauce. it was very good. This morning I had chicken Soup no noodles because I'm sick and the warth feels good on my throat. A little later I will have egg drop soup for lunch. I came across what I think is a great recipe for pizza crust but I also use it as bread for sandwiches. Cauliflower Crust Pizza Yields: 1 serving* Ingredients: 1 cup cooked, riced cauliflower 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese* 1 egg, beaten 1 tsp dried oregano 1/2 tsp crushed garlic 1/2 tsp garlic salt Olive oil (optional) Pizza sauce Mozzarella cheese, shredded Other additional toppings of your choice *Many people have commented and said that the amount of cheese can be reduced by half, and still taste just as good! Directions: To rice your cauliflower, take 1 large head of cauliflower, remove the stems and leaves, and chop the florets into chunks. Add to a food processor and pulse just until it looks like rice. Alternatively, you can grate the cauliflower with a cheese grater. Place the riced cauliflower in a microwave safe bowl, add 1/4 cup Water, and microwave for 6-8 minutes, stirring half-way through. To make the pizza, preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Spray a pizza pan or cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, combine the cauliflower, mozzarella cheese and egg together and stir until well incorporated. Add the oregano, garlic, and garlic salt. Transfer to the cookie sheet, and shape into a 9-inch circle. Brush the crust with olive oil to help it brown in the oven. Baked at 450 degrees F for 15 minutes, until the crust is browned and cooked through the middle. Remove the crust from the oven, add your sauce and toppings. Place under a broiler at high heat until the cheese is melted and bubbly. (About 3-4 minutes). Allow the pizza to cool slightly, then cut into slices and serve.

I was sleeved on 8/9/12. I'm eating soft foods and doing very well other than I have an URI so I'm feeling a little under the weather.
  10. Well, hopefully you can start getting all the fluids in on your own. Still rooting for ya!

  12. I do an EAS protein shake its a 100 calories but it only has 17 grams of protein. I eat hamburger refried beans canned veggies, tuna, cottage cheese, string cheese, yogurt, chicken, lunch meat, eggs and crab. any soup but since I introduced soft foods I want things that I can chew. I eat between 2 and 4oz depending on what I eat. I can only do about 2 or 3 oz of tuna or refried beans at a sitting but I can complete 4 oz of hamburger meat at a time. I also found a really good recipe for pizza crust thats made out of cauliflower, cheese and egg but I use it as a bread to make a sandwichs also.
  13. I feel great other than right now. I think I picked up a cold. I have a sore throat, my chest is heavy and I'm coughing up green stuff and that worries me because my surgery was so recent. Anyway, I eat about 2-4 oz 3x a day with 2 Snacks inbetween, no snacks over 100 calories. I'm having difficulty getting all my Water in. I average about 50oz a day and I was told that I need 64oz per day. I eat pretty much anything I want except for bread, rice, Pasta and corn. Everything I drink is artifically sweetend if it's not plain water. I haven't started raw fruits or veggies. I'm still in the soft food stage. Everything I have tried I have tolerated very well. Initially I was sore. Now I have one small area that is slightly tender. I returned to work 10 days after surgery. I started the gym 2 weeks after surgery. All I do is walk on the treadmill at about 2.0 to 3.0 MPH. I have not had any bouts with nausea or vomiting. I feel very fortunate. I've lost 22lbs and I hope it keeps coming off.
  14. I was 8/9/12. I don't really have a support group either other than my family. I'd like to find someone with a surgery date close to mine along with someone that weighed near what I weighed.
  15. Tryan

    Wow Im Down To 395!

That's great, good for you!! Keep up the good work and be proud.
  16. I had my surgery on 8/9/12 and have not not had any problems till about two days ago. I started with right flank pain, I talked to the nurse and she said I was probably exercing to much. All I've done for excercise is walk on the tread mill for a hour at 2.0 to 3.0 mph. Needless to say I didn't go to the gym the last two days but I did take a 15 min stroll in my neighborhood today. However, on Friday night my throat started hurting. I slep til 2pm on Sat, thank gosh for my husband, he kept the kids out of my hair. This morning was 10x worse my chest is super heavy, when I breath in it hurts and I have a cough that keeps bringing up green chunks, yuk! It's also making my head pound! Of course, I am paranoid because of the recent surgery, I don't wanna end up with pneumonia or blood clots from being in active but at the same time I'm embarrassed to go to the doctors. I'm sure it's just a cold but after reading your story and just knowing all the different complications I am worrying terribly. I know my senario is nothing like yours but I still can't help but worry. Anyway, I wanted to ask if you were on Iv fluids? I don't remember reading that. Thank you for all of the updates, EVERYONE IS ROOTING FOR YOU TO HAVE A COMPLETE AND SPEEDY RECOVERY!!!!
  17. Are you doing weight training? Muscle weighs more than fat. Have you taken your measurements, are your clothes fitting better? I just ask cause maybe you're gaining muscle and that makes you seem like you're not losing weight. I don't know, I'm just trying to think postive cause, I also feel like I'm at a stall. I lost 22 lbs so far (surgery date 8/9/12) but most of that was in the first two weeks. This last week and half it's been like 2 lbs. I don't know what to do either.
  18. I'm pretty new at this, only 3 weeks 2 days post op but I meazure my food. I always stay at 4 oz. I sometimes wonder if I am eating to much. Hopefully someone will read this and help us both out.
  19. I find it very hard to get my liquids in, I'm always about 16oz short of my goal of 64 oz. I'm getting about 50 grams of Protein in per day on average. My weight loss stalls for a few days then like magic I'll drop 3 or 4 pounds. @Skyjack1. I drink an EAS shake it's not thick and it's pre packaged so I carry it in the car, I use those as a snack. They are 100 cal 17 grams of protein , low sugar I just cant remember the amount. Maybe those would help if you used them as a snack and ate regular food for your meals. I doubt that you aren't going to lose more weight. Evaluate what you are eating. I don't eat any Pasta, bread, rice, corn and I only use artificial zero calorie sweetener. What was your starting weight? I'm thinking if you weren't 100lbs or more over weight you will probably loser slower than a person like me that was 282 to start. I hope you lose tons more weight, good luck and keep intouch since we have same surgery date.
  20. Thats awful! Good luck with your recovery!
  21. I'm 3 weeks out today and I've just started feeling hungry but only if I haven't eaten. Make sure your getting your water and protein in. The protein will help with hunger. 9 pounds is great! I'm down 22 lbs today but I was at a stall for about 4 days. You will feel full once you start on the full liquids and puree! Matter of fact my stomach tells me if you eat another bite "you will be sorry". I only eat 4oz 3 times a day and I have 2 snacks but nothing over 100 calories. I measure out the for oz and when I get down to the last bite or 2 I feel a huge difference in my stomach. Have you went to your 1 week post op yet? If not, write all these questions down because when I went for mine, I for got everything I wanted to ask about cause I was so excited about the weight that I had lost. Anyway, keep me posted I'd like to hear how your doing since our surgery dates were so close. Good luck.
  22. I am 3 weeks out today. I had my surgery on 8-9-12. I eat 4oz at each sitting so thats 1/2 a cup of food 3 x a day and I have two snacks in between meals but my snacks are not over 100 calories. I've lost 22lbs. I just started the gym yesterday with a hour on the treadmill. Sometimes I feel like thats to much.
  23. Im' 2 weeks 4 days post op. I eat whatever I want with no problems. However, I puree them as instructed. I also don't eat any bread, Pasta, patatoes or corn. I get plenty of flavor with all the variety but everything is pureed. I will start soft food in 2 days. I also feel that I could eat regular food but I know that this surgery was expensive, my life is important and not following the directions could cause not only short term but possibly long term complications. Give your body a chance to heal, you are worth it! The weight will come off focus more on your Water thats also very important. Good luck!
  24. You guys are all gonna do great! I just wanna say that I'm 2 weeks 3 days post op. I'm doing puree I have 2 more days til soft food and I swear it hasn't been that bad. Since surgery I have not been hungry. I got bored with liquids but I was never hungry. Also, I have had a very positive experience, no nausea, i've tolerated everything i've tried, no unbearable pain only sore the first week and now I have one spot that is tender. I went back to work in a pediatric doctors office 10 days after surgery. The hardest part was is getting all my water in. I wish you guys the best! Stay postive and keep us posted!
