    Bougie Size

My surgeon used a 38 and I have never been sick. I eat whatever my heart desires. I just don't eat over 4oz and I choose not to eat bread, pasta, rice, corn, potatoes or sweets. I am down 39 pounds since 8/9/12 .( I need to update my ticker) I do get a weird feeling near my sternum if I eat to quickly or even if I eat 4oz but its a very dense food.

    7 Weeks Out

    I was told nothing carbonated.
  4. Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that you guys are feeling this way. I had my surgery 8/9/12. I had nausea one time but it subsided after I took the anti nausea medication and it's never come back. I feel pretty darn good except sometimes I'm a little tired. I can eat just about whatever I want. I choose not to eat bread, Pasta, rice, corn or potatoes. I eat about 4 to 5 ounces at each meal and 2 or 3 Snacks a day. My snacks are never over 100 calories. I don't drink anything unless it's Water, skim milk or artificially sweetened. I have a hard time with the shakes also but sometimes I drink an EAS shake 100 cal 17 grams of Protein. It's not to bad, it's not thick and it's something I turn to when I need more protein for the day, it's also pre made in like juice box. I do have a hard time getting all my water in and to be honest I've gotten in the 64 oz on 3 occasions. I usually get about 5o oz in. I need to work harder at that. What types of food are you eating and do you take something to reduce the acid in your stomach? I hope you both start to feel better, good luck!

    Aetna Copay?

It was 13000 just for the bills from the hospital not including the surgeons fee. I found one EOB currently looking for the other cause I'm kind of curious now.

I haven't had any problems, no nausea, tolerating everything very well. I weighed in today and I'm down 29 pounds. I'm pretty happy.

    Any Beginners From B-More?!

I live in Annapolis and although I am 1 month post op, I still feel like a beginner. Where are you having your surgery? I had mine at GBMC.

    Aetna Copay?

my insurance paid it . Ummm... I have no idea, I just assumed that was the going rate and never questioned it cause it was paid 100% by the insurance.

    New Pics 70 Lbs Gone!

CONGRATULATIONS, you look great!!!!! I too sometimes feel like I am going to be the one person that this doesn't work on. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with those feelings. I had my surgery on 8/9/12 and have lost 22lbs and counting but for some reason in the back of my head I keep thinking that that's as much as I'm going to lose. So thank you for sharing because it gave me some hope.

    Aetna Copay?

Nothing out of pocket for the surgery and I am not sure if you will have to re do the waiting. If you are using the same surgeon but just have the different insurance, I would guess that you wouldn't have to wait. Your surgeon already has all the info and just needs to submit it.

    Aetna Copay?

I have Aetna ***, I think PPO is better. Anyway, the only copays I had were for the actual visits prior to being sleeved and labs and diagnostic stuff. Aetna is also an insurance that doesn't always require you to wait six months. I only had to wait 3 months but it took me almost 3 months to get all the required stuff done. Post op the surgeon should see you for 90 days with no copays. after that im not sure . good luck.
  20. where can I find the PB2 and as soon as I start fresh fruits and veggies all of those things will be on my list. Thank you, you have been very helpful.
  21. I think all of what you said is very true! I think my biggest problem is that I eat to fast. It took me 6 minutes to finish 1 egg (soft) with 2 Tbs of salsa but it was so good! I do feel full but comfortable. Do you think this is to much? Was there anything that you turned to as a quick snack or to eat even though you weren't really hungry? I have a new love for Peanut Butter?
  22. I am not even going to try to eat something other than 4 oz. I don't even want to know if I can.
  23. I am on omeprazole. I still eat a lot of soft foods. I found that when I ate a hard boiled egg, finishing it was difficult, I knew I was at my limit. I have had chicken but only two bites, I was tasting it before I served it to my family. I always measure my food, I have 4oz containers that I use. I hope I'm just being paranoid.
  24. you guys are making me worried because I can eat 4oz with no problem. However, depending on the food sometimes I have to eat a little less. Am I eating to much? I'll be 1 month post op on the 9th

    I Can Eat Too Much!

I don't think you can go by what other people say. The first week I ate about a 1/4 cup but now I usually eat about a half of a cup at a time. I sometimes feel I can drink more than I'm suppose to. I am going to ask the surgeon tomorrow at my appointment if this is normal. Also, I don't get a "full" feeling. I get this pressure, it feels like it's at my sternum and if I get that feeling I consider that to mean I ate to much or to quickly. Anyway, everyone is different so talk to your surgeon and see what he says.
