Okay, he shouldn't have told about it if you asked him not to but you also stepped over that line by bragging about the weight loss on Facebook of all things and then not expecting someone to mention weight loss surgery..
If a person wants discretion, they have to practice it.

My question is: if you don't want questions about how you lost weight, why are you posting about losing weight on Facebook?
It is your choice on how to respond, but at that point you basically just invited everyone and anyone to not only congratulate, but also to ask how.

If you don't want others knowing beside immediate family tell your cousin "Nope I did it all myself" Then tell your dad in a polite way to keep his big trap quiet because you don't want others knowing your bidnez!
But you know how family is, the damage is probably already done and by this time tomorrow after your cousin tells 3 other cousins, and they tell 9 other people, and those people tell even more people the rumor will be that you've had your head removed and put on a skinnier body. And everyone will resent you for not doing it the right way blah blah blah...

I always like to answer those questions with a question or some vague 'answer'.
"What a weird question."
"What difference does that make?"
"Our family is nuttier than a fruitcake!"
"It's hard work losing 50lbs!"
"What do you think of the pics I posted?"
"I must look GOOD if I'm the subject of gossip. Whoo hoo!"
At the end of the day, it none of anyone's business and you don't have to tell ANYONE.

I was supposed to start my pre-op diet on Aug.30th but haven't. It's not a liquid diet just cutting out carbs so I guess I'll start tomorrow with the holidays being over. I'm nervous, excited, anxious, and a whole lot more but I'm going to leave it to God. I've noticed I've been on this website way too much lately, lol. It's addicting.

I completely understand where you're coming from

I haven't been sleeved yet, going on 11/7 but as I was getting dressed I was thinking I can not wait until I can put my bra on and my rolls do not cover the sides and how I can't wait for my panties not to keep rolling under my last tummy , it seems the only ones that do not do that are my "granny panties" (for a lack of better words).
Just thought I would share with others that may understand how I am feeling and I am just giggling away over here at how silly it all would sound to someone that doesn't understand.

I'm going to call the insurance company today to confirm if they are in network and to see if this should be happening. Thanks for your suggestions.

Only my husband knows so far. I feel so guilty not telling my family but I know my mom will go and tell everyone. Maybe down the road, I will come clean.

Hello everyone! My name is Nicole and I'm new to this forum. I am scheduled for my sleeve Sept.12 with Dr. Fernandez in Tampa (that's if I get insurance approval). I met with the nutritionist and psych yesterday so that part is over. Anyhoo, I hope to gain additional support here and meet others that are going through with the sleeve.
