I am not familiar...but i can tell you that EVERYTIME I go to the doctors, I report my rash problem, even tho I have it under control right now...that way, IF my insurance covers it, I am covered

I bought Celebrate in the beginning, but with the sleeve we don't have to be that picky about our Vitamins...just be sure there isn't a lot of sugar, I usually get mine on a buy one/get one from CVS, now (a year later) I'm on a multi-Vitamin, CoQ-10, Biotin, calcium citrate chews and D3... but everyone is different on what their doctors want them to take...

I'll tell you one thing... I had gone to a thrift store and found a beautiful braided belt for $1.00 only to find out it was COACH!!! It was WAY too small for me (at the time) so I was going to sell it... found it after we recently moved...and I had room to spare...talk about your NSV!!! I love wearing it...it is truly a "symbol" for me even tho no one else sees it LOL

BigGirlPanties got a reaction from Brandelyn5 in Starting my 10 day liquid pre-op diet tomorrow and I'm freaked out!
The first couple of days were the hardest, as your body does it's detox thing...but then I was fine, and appreciated the cleansing...no diet cokes was the hardest... but haven't touched carbonated beverages since my pre-op and I'm good ... I know I've said this before, but I find (for me) if I'm having a tough time of it and feel I NEED something, I go to a hot beverage (decaf tea/broth) and sip slowly and that seems to do the trick to get "over the hump"...good luck...you've got this!

    Wow, that's a shame!
I LOVE my post-bariatric meetings, Anisa follows Colleen Cooks Bariatric Guidelines ... she may be the facilitator, but each week one of us is in "charge" of the topic!
We have great interaction with the "vets" and the "newbies", I think.
As far as your questions go, I think, for the most part, the doctor (Whipple) was informative and helpful before/during/after.
I have a supportive group around me as well, my sister, and a few friends have had the surgery, so I was able to talk with them about the questions I had.
As someone stated earlier, these days (especially with the Internet availability) the information is at your fingertips... you can find out and learn as much as you wish to about any subject!

PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE!!! Come on!!! When was the last time you lost 50 pounds in 5 months??? The last time I lost 50 pounds, it took me a YEAR on JC!!!
If you remember, the tortoise wins the race...slow and steady is the way.
Your body is adjusting to changes, it's all good... you are moving forward and your weight is coming off, and if you are doing the right things, it will continue... we can't compare ourselves to others, we all lose at different rates, based on metabolism, age, amount of exercise we can get in, and even how much we started at...
don't downgrade the success you all have had...it's wonderful!!!'
SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!!!

BigGirlPanties got a reaction from Livincrimson in Ladies, what do you consider your ideal dress size ?
My Success Habits Counselor has a saying about her size..."it's Nisa (her name) size"... mainly because she is bottom heavy and has to have a lot tailored...so she buys from Goodwill and has them tailored and is still ahead of the game...she cuts out the size tags, because that doesn't matter to her.
Being big boned and tall, a 12/14 would be more than "skinny" for me...coming from a 30/32 and now at a 18... so things are getting there...but anything smaller would mean I'd look like a skeleton with skin (like those exhibits...LOL) ... as long as I'm healthy, I'm happy... I will NEVER be a single digit wearer...not in the cards for me...this I know!
Just happy with who I am now...and looking forward to the future!

I found my guy thru a car club... we have the same kind of car and we met at a show... we were friendly, at first... things eventually changed...and I was over 300 pounds, so I never thought we'd be anything but friends (like everyone..major self esteem issues)... he is a lovely, lovely man and takes great care of me... I never thought I'd find anyone like that... so be patient and it will happen, I BELIEVE!!!!

Wow...that's so sad...guess I'm lucky...I go to a bariatric center of excellence, so they are focused on good eating and understand the genetics of the problem.
My therapist teaches Success Habits and is an addiction counselor AND she had WLS about 10 years ago and is still maintaining... she is PERFECT...love her to pieces!!!
I guess, as always, everyone is different...for once, I am one of the lucky ones

BigGirlPanties got a reaction from GEAUX SAINTS in What do you drink when you go out?
Personally, I don't even bother with the empty calories of alcohol... I'll have an unsweet tea...if they don't have that, an iced coffee... I keep sugar free flavoring in my purse, so I'm ready... don't need the alcohol to have a good time... but that's me... never was much of a drinker anyway...

BigGirlPanties got a reaction from Blooeyesgurl in How do you feel about eating out after weight loss surgery?
I don't stress it...most restaurants have SOMETHING I can eat.., even if it's a grilled chicken salad... very popular item in most places...
I have rarely found a place that I could not order from the menu...tho some waiters look at me a bit crazy when I order "No bread" for a sandwich etc
Life is to be enjoyed...and going out to eat is part of that... I always have lunch the next day too

BigGirlPanties got a reaction from mzknight3 in Getting cold feet for Weight Loss Surgery. Advice needed!
I think just about everyone on here (even those with complications) would say they would do it again...and sooner, if they could... I don't regret one moment of it! I feel I can eat what I want, but I don't "want" junk...so I've not had any big problem with that...been maintaining.
However, I have major knee problems and had to lose weight to get them fixed...one will be done next month (hopefully) and I couldn't have gotten there without my WLS.
For me, I was more excited than nervous... I knew this was for me; I have known other people that were successful... no doubts, no regrets!

BigGirlPanties reacted to CowgirlJane in When should I get a plastics consult?
Do multiple consults.... very educational. I did several in the USA before ultimately going to Dr Sauceda in Mexico. The main thing I learned is that plastics is about tradeoffs and there are many varying opinions on how to tackle the same problem.
I think it is very important to look at many many before and after pictures of people who have similar body type (ie massive weight loss). The situation of a standard "mommy makeover" isn't really the same as after massive weight loss. Spend some time reading at realself . com etc.
Plastics were first suggested to me about 12 months post op when i wasn't at goal yet. I waited until about 22 months post op before having surgery and I was under my goal weight. I only lost about 5.5# due to plastics (which was very close to estimates given to me during other consults) but i had little excess fat at that point - really, it was skin.

BigGirlPanties reacted to Miss Mac in When should I get a plastics consult?
I just weighed in for my one year at 169 pounds like you. My original goal had been 135, but my doctor said that if i lose another 14 pounds, plastics would take care of another 12-15 pounds, putting my weight at 140-145 which is good enough for my age (63). My insurance will pay for the panni, but not until two years post-op. So basically I have a year to lose another 14 pounds if that is where I want to stop.
