  1. after surgeryt post op diet is 2weeks liquid' date=' then 2 weeks full liquids and then onto a puree stadege. it is one of the strictist diets I have seen post op but they know what they are talking about! Im in smyrna btw[/quote']

My post op was very similar. It was difficult to maintain but I did it. I'm on regular meals now and doing great. I'm down 56 pounds since day of surgery. Size 8 pants and a medium top makes every shopping trip fun but feeling like a million bucks makes everything worth while. I barely remember the struggles!!

  2. For me' date=' I find it a cop out.

    1) Why wouldn't I want to give credit to the tool that helped change my life?

    2) If what others say about it bothers me, then that's something I need to overcome and take control of. Not run from it.

    3) People knowing helps keep me honest. I don't want to be "that guy" who had WLS and still couldn't keep the weight off.

    4) I want to help other morbidly obese people. Not under the fake pretense of me losing the weight all on my own. But with the truth. That this surgery can change their life too.[/quote']

I agree 100%. If I could help just one person know that it was alright to need help to be healthy and that the surgery was the key for me then i want the world to know. I tell everybody that asks. I have so many people want details because they want to do something similar but so nor know where to start. I'm not embarrassed that I had to purchase a tool to improve my health and loose the excess weight. I'm proud it was available to me.

  3. Me too:) and my weight is just about the same! Good for you! Very inspirational:) did you start a work out program at all? What was the hardest part for you?

I haven't worked out like I need to. I have walked in some 5Ks which is something I probably couldn't have done before. I do ride a stationary bike a little but not regularly. The hardest part is leaving food on my plate. I make very small plates and I stop the very second I feel anything close to full so leaving uneaten food is hard. Really no part of the whole surgery has been real bad. I would most definitely do it over a hundred times. My only regret is not taking this step sooner.

  4. U went from an 18/20 to a 12 in just over a month? That's insane! These posts are so inspiring' date=' especially since I am just 6 days post op. I also started at a 18 and bought a size 10 dress for next spring. At this rate I will probably fit Into a lot earlier than then!:) plz share ur secrets people![/quote']

I did!! So very exciting. I am 5'6". I started out at 221 and as of this morning I am 193. I am eating well and never feel deprived. I am riding my bike at least 2-5 miles a day and walking 3-4 days per week. Nothing really strenuous or extra special as far as exercise. I had a small two week stall about two weeks ago. Everything is going good. You will see the same results. Just realize that everyone does things at their own pace. You will get there!!! Congrats on your choice to better your health.

  5. Pre-op' date=' I was dealing with elevated liver enzymes and pre-diabetic.

Based on some labs I had yesterday, all blood levels are normal including the panel for checking the liver enzymes. It must be the clean diet I have been on for 3 months.[/quote']

    Congrats on your success.

  6. Congrats! For taking control of your health and your quality of life You're very brave. I have told my most immediate family of my plans. Im headed to TJ in March 2013. After speaking of my decision' date=' my mother decided to look into it. She beat me to it and was sleeved yesterday. So proud of her. Im still deciding who to tell or not as my siblings were never very forgiving of their heavier stepsister even as adults. Not sure if I'll let the fat outta the bag, or just show up skinny lol. Best wishes to you.[/quote']

Thank you. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Good luck with your surgery.
