Since I went back to work today decided I better get serious about the protein thing. Shake for breakfast, chili for lunch and chicken for dinner, and protein powder in h2o and only came to 53 grams of protein. WTF? Guess I have to start having Unjury chicken broth for a snack.

Hello all. Started puréed on Tuesday and have the go ahead to start soft foods tomorrow. Got to go back to work tomorrow too. . Feeling pretty darn good. Only down 7 pounds since surgery which kinda bums me out but it is what it is.

I was going to go to LVH but my work and child care schedule wouldn't allow me to attend all the pre op meetings required. So I decided to go to St Luke's which worked out just great. Had the same anesthesiologist as when I had my daughter so I was thrilled. Loved her! I would love to compare notes on the two hospitals.

Since surgery? I'm only down 3 since surgery.

I had surgery on Tuesday and walked all over the state fair that Friday. Just make sure you take your pain meds and you should be fine. Have fun!

So annoyed. A friend had surgery a week before me with the same esophageal hernia repair. She had her ten day post op appt and was told to stay on purée an extra two weeks to not irritate the repair. So not looking forward to being on purée that long. Same repair, same surgeon, I think the cards are against me.

Care to share the taco soup recipe? Sounds yummy. Also looking for something new. Never heard if it before. Thanks!

I walked all the state fair in Friday and felt like a million bucks. Didn't even sleep on the way home. Saturday morning felt like a train wreck again. Felt worse after walking around target yesterday than the fair Friday. Feel okay now except for stiff shoulders and neck.

Just had surgery on 9/25 and all went well. Had an esophageal hernia repaired which was a complete shock. Just found out that I will probably be on puréed an extra two weeks because of it. A friend had surgery a week prior with the same surgeon, same hernia and at her ten day post op appt she was told two more weeks of purée so the esophagus doesn't get irritated. Doesn't mean of will happen to me too but I imagine it will. So sucks. With two week pre op liquid diet, and now this I won't have a solid thing to eat in over a month. Grrrr.

Oooo, that sounds good. Too bad it has to be strained.

Back to feeling icky today. Decided to take a pain pill and am starting to feel better. Will try again tomorrow not to take them. Sipping on Chinese soup broth. Got some isopure drink in last night. The one that has the carbs but at least it's still protein. Going to try and finish half that bottle today. That will be 20 grams of protein. Mom is coming to visit. We usually go out to dinner and breakfast. That will be so much fun not being able to eat anything. Oh well, such if life 4 days post op. or is it 5? Not sure if I count the day of surgery or not.

I actually walked the entire Bloomsberg Fair today! So proud of myself. The only reason I even attempted it was because I knew the had scooters for rent! Drank a bottle of special K protein water in the process. Feel very tired right now but great at the same time. It's just what I needed to get out of the "sick bed" routine. Can't say walking past the blooming onion stand was easy but I knew I couldn't eat it so took a big whiff and off I went! Hope everybody is doing equally as well.

I know I'm not getting the required water in. My pain is not in my stomach but my chest. Probably should be using the breathing thingy more. Hate it though because it is uncomfortable. Wish I was feeling better by now. Can't believe a lady from another site went back to work already. No way!

I will be traveling to the happiest place on earth a meer 39 days after surgery. Doc already said it would be okay to fly but took out vacation insurance just in case. Has anyone had any experience with dining in Disney so soon after surgery. I spoke with their dining department today and they basically said if my family wants to visit a buffet (character dining) I have to pay the full price even though I won't be able to eat much. She said that I can ask the manager at the time if I could pay the child's cost but they don't have to grant it. I hate to make my kids miss out on this experience or me miss out on them at the experience. Any advice on Disney dining would be appreciated. We have a suite with a fridge so we are ordering food for the room, milk for kiddies, sugar free ice pops, water, etc! Thanks for your help.

Fortunately No cramping here. Just tried some chinese soup broth and it's delish. Definitely Still on the pain meds though. Just make me feel so much better

Amazing How different surgeons are. I don't get a post op leak test as nd I was on clear fluids 8 hours after surgery. So tired. Waiting for hubby's arrival to go home a meer 29 hours after surgery. Would like to stay another night for the quiet but No go

If I could just get rid of this gas pain, I would be awesome.. slept pretty Good last night. Except for the sippy cup of water that decided to join me during the night!

How is everybody doing? Slept most of the afternoon and am still exhausted. Pain not so bad since I got onto liquids and took oral liquid pain med.

Does it have to be red wine? always hated red wine. Prefer zinfandel
