  1. I has my sleeve on Aug.7th, and lost 17lbs so far, but I've been at a stall for two weeks now and I don't know what to do about it. I'm getting in my protein and my water. I'm not doing strenuous exercise but I am going to the gym and working out for 45 minutes or more each day. I've been keeping my calories between 800-900 a day and very low carbs. Has anyone else experienced this kind of stall? Does anyone have suggestions? I'm kind of getting upset that yes, I've lost weight but now I've come to a halt. It's extremely aggravating since we've gone through so much to do this surgery and then you just stop seeing results... ???? Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate!

    Stall For 2 Weeks

Thank you, Kathy! I'm sorry to hear that you had recently gone through the same thing, it's very frustrating! I know it will drop eventually but it's so hard when you work so hard to get to a certain point and nothing is happening. I hope you do not have any more problems with stalls any time soon or even at all because they are extremely frustrating. Thank you again for the support!

    August Sleevers..what Is The Progress

I was sleeved on Aug. 7th and it's been a journey for sure already. The first two weeks were the hardest because I was absolutely starving on the liquid diet and actually had to start eating puréed food 2 days early because I was so weak and shaky. I've lost 17lbs so far post op and 32 lbs with the diet I was on before surgery. I am currently having a stall though...I haven't lost anything in 2weeks and I'm not sure as to why. ;( My energy levels are just finally back up to Normal. I just started going back to the gym and getting my workout in, finally! You seem to be having great progress so far, so keep it up! ????

    Protein

Hey guys! Do any of you know of a protein powder that does not have a flavor, that I could put in food or drinks in order to meet my protein requirements each day. I am getting sick of my protein shakes already and want to be able to find a tasteless powder or liquid that could replace it while I drink my ice tea or water throughout the day or even put it on my food. Please help if you have any ideas! I would greatly appreciate it!!! Thanks!

    Protein

Thank you! I am gonna check it out!
  7. Hi guys! I wanted to get a general idea of what everyone is at calorie wise for the mushy/purée stage. Right now I'm only really eating tuna and eggs, so if you have any ideas to help bring variety I would greatly appreciate that too!
  8. Okay, I have a question... I am 9 days post op and ever since day 3, I've literally been starving all day long! I'll drink my protein, think I'm full and five minutes later I'm hungry again. I cannot eat mushy food until Monday, but i've been throwing in yogurt and sugar free pudding sometimes to see if it helps. Is anyone else feeling this way? All I've heard thus far is how everyone cannot even think of eating. ;( It makes me worry. I am constantly drinking my protein (isopure) and drinking water all day! ;-( I am even waking up in the middle of the night because I am so hungry. ;( I've never been someone who gets up at night to eat... I just thought I would never have the appetite. Please if anyone has suggestions, I would love to hear them!

    5 Confessions (Join In)

-I confess that I am only 9 days post op but everyday since surgery I've thought I made the wrong decision. ;-( -I confess that I am hungry EVERY SECOND of the day! -I confess I constantly think about food, and am so sad to watch TV because of the commercials(I just want some pizza so badly!) ;-( -I confess that I thought I was mentally prepared for the surgery, since I had been researching for over a year! -I confess that I am worried that being skinny will not make me as happy as I thought. ;-(
  11. Congrats!! How exciting! I cannot wait until I hit the onederland! ???? congrats again, that's a huge accomplishment!
  12. Thank you so much for the enlightening us on some great tips! That was something I really needed to read! I've been feeling alone with the whole process, even though I have been on this site everyday, it's so hard when you realize your the only one out of your family doing this. I am only 8 days post op and I keep going back and fourth with my emotions. At first I was so upset with myself and was telling myself, "I messed up!" It is getting easier with every passing day but it still plays with my emotions a bit! So THANK YOU for all the knowledge and insight! ????

    Driving After Surgery

I too had problems driving yesterday. I decided it had been 7 days and I NEEDED to get out of the house, so I took a 5 minute drive and it was pretty painful. You don't realize how much of your abdominal muscles that you use to actually drive. I would wait if you could because even being a passenger is no fun, with all the bumps. ;(
  15. Hi guys! I was just wondering if anyone else was having trouble sleeping on anything other than their back? I have the hardest time sleeping on my back and I've had a headache since 2nd day post op. I just wanted to see if anyone else experienced this?

    My Emotions Are Crazy

I have honestly been the same way! I'm only 7 days post op and yesterday was an awful day for me in terms of mood swings. ;-( I was just upset crying one moment because of the pain in one of my incisions and the next I was yelling at my hubby over nothing, which made me cry even more! It's been a whole cycle so far. I didn't think I was going to have such a hard time mentally with everything, but it's exhausting. It's hard not to be able to eat and to change your mind frame! The first three days I felt like I had made the worst decision ever, even though I researched and thought about it for over a year plus some! I hope it gets easier for you. ???? I think it's going to just take time. It's a process and no one said it was easy or a quick fix! ???? Good luck with everything!
  17. I've honestly heard of that. :-( You should ask your doc, they will tell you if it's enough protein in it or if you need to change it.
  18. @crowell823- Thank you for your response! I finally was able to somewhat sleep on my side. I had been sleeping in our recliners as well. Lol. It was comfy but not enough to stay a sleep for long periods of time. I finally got a great night of rest! So, it's already getting better and better! ???? May I ask if you have any other advice since you are a little further than me? Are you able to actually eat food now and keep it down?
  19. @maryjane61- I had a headache all the way up until yesterday. It was horrible! The pain meds were for sure giving it to me. :-( My hubby bought me a body pillow yesterday and I was finally able to sleep on my side somewhat. Having the pressure directly on my tummy has been helping a lot!
  20. This is such a great topic! I am also at the very beginning and I've already noticed how I am craving saltiness. All the protein shakes and liquids we can have all seem so sweet. I had veggie broth yesterday and it tasted like the best thing in the world! We will get through it, it's just tough at the beginning because our bodies are craving the carbs and wanting all the bad stuff for us! The timer thing is such a great idea! I was having the same problem with not knowing how often to sip.
  21. No, of course you didn't offend me. Everyone needs to get rest. I've done the same thing before.
  22. No, of course you didn't offend me, I completely understand.
  23. Congrats on the weight loss! I am currently at the exact same spot you are! I hope things are getting easier and easier day by day for you. Good luck with everything!
  24. Thank you! ???? I am so glad I joined this website to have extra support from others that are going through the same thing! I wish you all the best as well!! ????
  25. Thank you, everyone! I know it takes time to heal, I was just wondering if it was normal and if I'd eventually be able to sleep on my side again. So thank you for the responses! It does make me feel a lot better because these past few days have been extremely hard. It is getting easier and easier as each day passes though. I knew it was going to be a hard journey still but it was a little more than I had anticipated. I am still happy to see results eventually as time passes. I know I will get there but it will take time. So thank you everyone!!!
