Bunny, Thanks for your story! I am anticipating vsg this spring, I'm in that long pre-op stage. I too have a lot of medical issues. I was told I needed to lose weight before I could have a kidney transplant. After reading your story I feel more hopeful than ever! There are so many things I would like to do and can't right but now I am looking forward to more energy and less pain. I have been questioning myself if I should do it or not, and I know I really need to do it. Thanks again for sharing your story it gives me a lot of hope!

Funny thing about the yoga poses...that was taken this year in Hawaii by my husband. He thought he was the friggin paparazzi taking pics of me. He had me doing poses on top of a mountain, a cliff, with sea spray in the background, etc. He was so proud and apparently is loving his new wife lol.

I have to hurry up and finish my Christmas shopping because I am finding that I buy something for someone and then 1 for me! For so many years I stayed out of the stores and now I am rapidly becoming a shopaholic!! I just got home from the outlet mall (Thank God there is one close by!) and my 2 daughters and I were in the same dressing room trying on clothes and it was so much fun!! I feel so liberated from Lane Bryant!!

I make the same thing but use Hormel turkey pepperoni. You get 17 pieces for 70 calories and 9g of Protein I have a pizza stone, and heat it in the oven, then throw my flatout (I like the multigrain) on it for about 5 minutes. I pull it out, put my sauce and toppings on it, and bake it until the cheese is bubbly. It makes the crust super crispy! I can only eat half, but my kiddo is always happy to eat the other half as a snack. It's great and I don't have to feel guilty about it

Ouch.....I really identify with alot of those symptoms. Sadly. I was, and still am, a sneaky eater. Not like before....but it's still there.
A big example is something that's coming up....that I'm dreading. At Xmas, we'll go to the inlaws' for a few days. And they will make big food feasts 3 times a day...always with leftovers. You cannot walk through the kitchen without good food sitting right there on the counter 24/7. And I can't seem to pass through without grabbing something. I cannot keep my hands in my pocket. Being hungry has nothing to do with it. It's so stressful for me, that I actually dread the whole visit and do not look forward to the holiday any more.
I resent them for making everything such a food centered event, but I resent myself more for not being able to resist.

    Medications! Yes..
I have the worst relationship with those.
I take them.. And I kinda stop and or "forget" sometimes...
That's a whole new thread.. My thought process about that

It is a bit of an obsession for me as well.....way too much online shopping. And I am also obsessed with shoes now. I figure though, for the 15 years I literally didn't buy any clothes, what I have been spending in the last 6 months isn't so bad. If you ask my husband though.....not so much.

go back to basics, what you did to lose that 75 pounds. This is what I do that works for me. I cal it my dashboard, the numbers tell me if something needs to be changed.
    1) I weigh every morning
    2) I weigh and/or measure my food
    3) I log my food on my fitness pal
    4) I attend a real live support group
I'm almost 3.5 years out and I've been maintaining for almost 3 years. I can't imagine not doing these things. They're as natural to me as breathing. My new normal, my new life. For me, there is a fine line between maintenance, gaining and losing. I must never become complacent. I have a comfort zone, a 3.5 pound comfort zone. If I'm up about the high end of that zone, I just cut back calories by 100 - 150 for a few days and it's gone. You can do this!

I have met one goal so far, I have upped my weights on all machines by atleast 5 pounds and some by 10 pounds. Very happy.
Have been able to do a 2 mile run so far - but to be honest I have slacked off on the running. I don't really enjoy it. But I did add yogalates which is for strength and flexibility which I really need more flexibility and balance. So happy with how things are going, but I really do need to try another run this week.

I was sleeved 13 months ago, approximately. At one month I was walking around the block perhaps twice, five days a week. Really three miles in 45 minutes? Wow! I was still very tired at the end of each day. You should just be in the phase where you are starting to get more "food" nutrition versus just shakes, soft foods, et cetera so it stands to reason that you will be more tired, plus the amount of calories you can eat is very low.
To be honest I only walked (up to 3 or 4 times around my block) until I was 5 months out. At 5 months I had lost about 75 pounds and then I joined the gym. I went to the gym 3 days a week for about an hour. I started out with walking 30 minutes on the treadmill, a zumba class.
Now at 13 months I go 4 days per week, one hour - body combat, body pump, yogalates and strength training. It took me 8 months to get to where I am fitness wise.
I am at maintenance (with perhaps losing another 5) and now concentrating on fitness.
I probably should have started my more diligent exercise before five months, but to be honest at 200 pounds I felt that I could just then begin to manage a more strenuous exercise regime. So listen to your body, get out and walk and do something physical most days and keep upping it as your body gets stronger.
Also when I started the gym I definitely had to up my calories. I was doing a strenuous class and would totally lose steam, so I went from 600 calories a day to 800 up to now about 1000 - 1200 per day.
Good luck and don't beat yourself up! You are on the right track.

Hmm.....I will join but not sure what goals to set......
Be able to run 3 miles without stopping by the end of November (up to 1.75 miles right now)
Increase my weight settings by 5 pounds by the end of the month
I don't think I like running but it is something different and I want to conquer it to feel more like an athlete not just an exerciser.
Not the most earth shattering goals, but they will definitely make me feel like I am progressing and not just maintaining.

It's nice not to ache every day and to be able to be more active and keep up with my little one. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!
