I saw my doctor today and he cleared to try different foods to see how I tolerate them, so he said I could try salads if I wanted to but if it doesn't agree with me to leave it alone. So I did have about 2 forkfuls of ceasar salad and that was ok. No indigestion or anything like that. But I guess I'm like emlefe, I wanted the assessories that go with it. So I decided to go that route, just have what I would put on it instead. Now Pasta salad is something I love but have not tried it yet. My doctor did say I could try it but I think I'll wait

Any Raw Foodist/vegans/vegetarians Out There?
CoolBreeze replied to Peace36love's topic in Food and Nutrition
I think I fall into a particular catagory when it comes to being a 'vegetarian'... I have not had beef, veal, lamb, ect ect for at least 4months but I do eat eggs, chicken, turkey, seafood. Those sorta things. Most of my Protein comes from veggie burgers and such. I buy Morning Star Farms line of products and I am love them. Also from my Protein shakes too. nyxa - I read it all and also will incorporate some of the ideas mentioned. Very interesting post by the way. It shows your convictions and that is great! -

Good for You. You are NOT alone. I am not alone. We are family - VST family and we do (I found out the first day I joined) care about each other. That's a great feeling. So to paraphase what you said.... LET GO & LET GOD. He's got this, get out of his way. Lord it took me too many times of standing in front of him to realize I should move to side. -
Sleeved Sept 7Th... When Do The Burpies Get Better?
CoolBreeze replied to Tekara3927's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm trying to figure that one out too and I was sleeved June 26. This post I shall keep an eye on for answers. Going to see my doctor this morning and that's a ? I'll ask him. -
I like the soy nuts but my NUT does not want me eating any kind of nuts - yet. I go to the doctor's office tomorrow and hopefully Both Doctor & NUT will be on the same page about eating nuts. I miss planter's (cashews & almonds). The soy nuts have 14g of Protein in a 14 cup - that terrific.

OMG, I am laffing beyond belief. Great post. LOL. Just think I can say hello without looking in the mirror. . Heck, she's gonna wonder where I've been all these years...guess I got some splaining to do.

This is great. There are so many different kinds of recipes here that it's hard to choose. At least now we can eat good tasty foods at any stage and still get in protein. That is a wonderful thing

That's Great!! I'll be cheering you on.

Copy that indeed! CoolBreeze -
I did it. I finally joined the gym at my job. Can't figure out why this make me giddy  , but it does. I am truly looking forward to starting a program and sticking with it. The center is staffed from 6:30a - 7:30p but members access it 24/7. I'm ready now, it's on!!! I see ONE(derland) coming soon. Ok, why am I THIS EXCITED!! Is it the sleeve? Alright, I'll take that. Now, can I get some advice on what I should be doing before / after workouts? What to wear...yes this is a serious question on my part because I don't know if I should wear something special because of being Sleeved. Thank you my fellow Sleevers.

I too am a Nike fan - always have been. I said when I see 'Onederland' (haven't seen her in decades ) I was rewarding myself the those Nikes to link to my ipod. I have a pair of run/walk (waffle design on sole) nikes now, so that will have to do for now. Heck I barely took them out of box. Thanks for the info.

New, First Post, Saying Hi. :)
CoolBreeze replied to TapSnap's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
John, the surgery will help you get back on track health wise. As for the women, they may say one thing AND mean another, but rest assured, when SleevenJohn (I just made that up) is where (that meaning you) he wants to be those same women will wish their brain cells never form those thoughts. It will be their lost. -
VST addict, Sleeve Gur, ect ect - How does one get these titles above their name when you post something? Interesting.

New, First Post, Saying Hi. :)
CoolBreeze replied to TapSnap's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi John. I had surgery on June 26 this year and I do not regret it either. And neither will you. I tried and tried to lose weight on my own. I would get to certain point and then nothing, I stopped losing and could not figure out why. It got very frustrating. I started my journey to a new and most improved me on January 30.. I weighed 289lbs. By surgery date I weighed 277 1/2lbs. Today, I am at 223 1/2. Nope no regrets. Bumps along the way but that was expected. You've made the decision. You'll stick with it and enjoy the rewards of feeling great. Not out of breath everytime you take a walk (I know did). You come to right place, VST will be here for you. So welcome aboard. -
How Are All The June Sleevers Doing Since Surgery?:
CoolBreeze replied to Addison's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello to all. I'm a late bloomer...My surgery was June 26 at Washington Hosp Center in Washington DC by Dr. Brebbia. He was very helpful and considerate and I felt comfortable with him, that was important to me. I started this journey in January this and weighed 289lbs, by the surgery date I was to 277 and as of Sept 6 I am 223 1/2lbs. I've lost 4 pants sizes (from size 50 to 46), lost 4 bra sizes & 1 cup size (from 50 DDD to 46 DD). I started my gym membership on yesterday and I feel good... and tired. I'm getting in my protein (60-80 grams) each day. My liquids - I do about 10 cups of water and about 6 cups of (homemade, sweetened w/ splenda) Iced tea daily. -
Carolc, I know just how you feel. I was always hesitant about going to a gym because every(body) there look as if they did not have to do a gym. And they sometimes stare at you and start giggling, snickering etc. Well, I told myself if I can go butt naked in an O.R. and have several people see me and ALL my jelly rolls, hey, I should be able to go to a gym (jelly rolls covered of course) and get those rolls in shape and not give one damn about who is laughing, giggling and such. Don't judge me when you have no idea what could be going on. Don't judge me when (and I'm pretty sure of this one): you more than likely had a few rolls on your body. They way I'm looking at it is, when I meet my goal the laughs will be on them and I will sashay my new beautiful butt (and body) right out the door saying 'get me body'.... hello . I did not ask your permission. I did not solicit your advice. I damn sure DON'T NEED YOUR APPROVAL! . Ok I am off the soap box, reckon I too needed to vent. Do what you have to do for you. I'm with you... we all are. Oh yeah, I started my gym program on Wedensday and I felt good ... and tired. . Let's do this!!!

Not one day has gone by and not one will that I regret having been Sleeved. You will go thru anxiety, nervousness, being scared all of that. The thing to remember is why you're doing this in the first place (your son, your health, YOUR LIFE). Don't worry, you are not alone, you're here and we support you. God Is Good, you are in exellent hands. Stay focused. Stay strong. Believe
