    New To This Site.

I too thought about it for more that a year (a little less than 2), partly because I thought it was too late for me at age 51. But doing research and talking to friends and family (certain ones) I found that one of my best friends had bypass surgery in '07 (she was 46) and a couple more had it when they were betwee 57 & 60. So age didn't stop them, don't let it stop you. You may be older but hey you're wiser as well. Wise enough to make the decison to do something to help you see 63, 64, 65.... well you get the idea. If your doctor does not think you're too old then think of it this way - Older-Wiser-Sexier. Congrats on your decison

  8. I was introduced to laffing cow just this sunday past and I liked it. My dr told me I could have toast but only one slice and only toasted (which is how I like it anyway). I tried the laffing cheese on the toast and homerun, I liked it. 2g Protein from the toast and 2g from the cow. moo moo

Just Braggin' - Got Me A New Bicycle!

Btw, why do guy bikes look better than gurl bikes - personally speaking. I do kinda favor the guy bikes. And any suggestions on what brand-speed-bells&whistles to look for when shopping?

Just Braggin' - Got Me A New Bicycle!

Beautifully put. Conld not have said it better. I have been afraid to ride a bike for several years now and I do want one. I was always fearful that one of the pedals would snap off behind all 284lbs I was carrying on it...not to mention the seat oh the seat with not enough cushion was murder. Now, I am looking forward to going out and shopping for a bike...me.. shopping...for a bike!! I can't wait.

    Cucumbers & Tomatoes

Thanks everybody for your comments. Greatly appreciate each one. I was just talking a friend about this and she suggested taking the seeds out (which is what I do with the watermelon & honeydew). Thanks again CoolBreeze
  15. Think of it this way ... holidays come around you'll be able to get up from table full, feeling satisfied and not "stuffed to the gills". Everybody feeling miserable and you feel well PROUD. You accomplished what you wanted to. I know this holiday season will be a challenge for me b/c I could easily eat 2 plates of food and still have room for auntie's freshly baked goodies. What motivates me is knowing that by these holidays I WILL be in "onederland" and that is more satisfying than that piece of freshly baked goodies. I asked my dr the same questions about % of stomach removed. I wanted to know if there was a difference between bypass pouch & sleeve pouch. Not much except the separation from the stomach to make the pouch bring lower intestines up wrap around new pouch ect ect ... well after hearing all that I asked why leave all the stomach in there to do nothing but "hang around"? After he stopped laughing he really couldn't come up with an answer. The sleeve is vertical. Bypass is circular. I reckon if you roll up the sleeve you'd get the bypass pouch. Personally, I had no problem choosing to be sleeved b/c I just didn't want all that stomach "hanging around" inside of me. The % left he said will increase but it will be up to me just how much of an increase it'll be. Give yourself time ... and patience. It'll all work out for. Just think of the end result - A NEW YOU CoolBreeze

    ?

Cheez it has more fat in them than my dr would want me to have. It does have protein but its negated by the fat/carb #'s. I would not eat them, but do check with your dr.
  17. I stayed 3 nights, I had some trouble keeping fluids in so I was there the max my insurance allowed. My friend told me his sister went in on a Mon. and was out Tuesday evening. So it will depend on how you are after surgery. But you do have to hold in your liquids before they will release you.
  18. Congrats!! You will feel better, just takes time. Keep up the great work.

  20. You said what a lot of us (I'm sure) were really thinking ... of saying but did not. Personally not offended. The sad thing is you're probable not the first, and unfortunately, may not be the last.
  21. I had a similar experience once on a plane and I wanted to toss her out the plane .. at 33k feet. Ok, I digrest. But, she ask me if I need an extention (which at the time I didn't know it was to extend the belt. I was mad, hurt to say the least. I did not want to take it but I would have cut off my own circulation so I did - reluctantly. Yet one more inspiration for me to have been sleeved. Can't wait for my next plane ride!

  23. Hello every1. I just finished breakfast...1 egg (scrambled), 1 sm checken thigh (boiled in water w/onion&garlic powder, salt-free seasoning). Tasted good. Lunch is around 1 or 2. Dinner about 6. Now, here's my delimma - I work tonight from 10p - 6:30a, what do I do? Should I go the night w/o eating or have something around 2am (which is lunchtime)? How do I work this when I work at night on weekends? ANY SUGGESTIONS...PLEASE!

  24. I am planning to buy a resistance band for exercise. I am trying new things and with back problems it seems better for me to use the band instead of weights. You can use it so many ways to exercise. Do y'all think that's a good idea. I need something other than walking.
