New To Vertical Sleeve... Looking For Supportive Friends Going Through The Same Thing..
CoolBreeze replied to Jadesatin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Lisa. Welcome to VST, its a great site and I am so happy I came across it. Like you, I was diagnosed with a few things that took me for a loop (high blood, sleep apnea, diabetes, arthritis). My best buddy was a quarter pounder or double whopper w/ all the fixin', and side of fries. I had to make a decision to STOP and do something about what was going with me. I yo-yo'd on diets for years (I'm 51) and my primary suggested bariatric surgery and it took me about a year to make up my mind to do it, and I am so glad I did. I had to do this for me and only me (I selfish at this point) because no one else could or would. I was sleeved on June 26 - lost 48lbs (total to date is 60lbs ), when I started my journey I weighed 289lbs...lost 12lbs by the time I made up y mind to go for it. Don't worry you have plenty of support here at VST. We're here for EACH OTHER and that is the joy of this site. Again, welcome. -
I have seen Flatout bread in Giant stores -- for those who may live in the DC area.
-
Thank you..I never thought about doing that with the veggie and the shrimp. And I can put in chicken thighs too. Now what is 'Flatout pizza'?
-
Can someone please tell how to get my ticker back? I updated it and now I ca not see when replying or anything else.

I just tried a tuna melt for the first time. Now I know folks put cheese on their fish all the time but, for the reason I could not wrap my head around putting cheese on my tuna, let alone heating it up. Well it was pretty good. Just wanted to share that. Oh and it didn't hurt that it was 20g of Protein (13 for the tuna & 7 for the cheese).
<img border="0" src="

Too Much Protein?
CoolBreeze replied to TheNewSusie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said that I should get 60 - 80 grams at each day. There have been times I can get that at a meal (usually lunch or dinner). So 81 well........good for you. -
Bored With Food
CoolBreeze replied to BlueDiamond's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Fuel food...Tolerable Food...Can it be in a package of Tasty Food? Just asking. If we're going to have to eat it, at least give it some taste that is not tasting the same all the time. A variety is all we are looking for (at least I am) :tongue2: -
How The Hell Do You Drink Isopure?
CoolBreeze replied to Carrie's Journey's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm lactose intolerant, but I have tried the mucsle milk (lactose free, no milk) lite, 20-25g of Protein - strawberry, vanilla, choc - and I take them better than any other I have tried. I CAN'T STAND ISOPURE (I even tried putting a couple paks of splenda in it...that didn't work) . It makes me gag...the smell alone is horrible! They didn't tell me that in the seminar. lol Hope this helps you out. -

Has anyone had trouble swallowing those giagantic calcium pills we have to take 2-3 times a day? They have got to be the biggest pills on the market. . And if the calcium has all that the dr's want us to have, do we need to still take and extra dose? Like the B12 - if that's in calcium do you still need the pill? I HATE TAKING PILLS  . If I drink 3 glasses of milk a day will I be getting the right amount of calcium without taking the pills? Thanks for your responses.

Ok, Its been said that 1oz of cheese is the size of a pair of dice...I weighed my cheese and an oz looks a lot bigger than a pair of dice. Help me out here. What does 1oz of cheese look like

Sounds tasty. I may have to try this .... as soon as my dr. says I can eat tomatoes. But I might have to find a substitute

CoolBreeze replied to Pparrisss's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats on your date. I too was happy and nervous. Mostly happy because I knew when it was over I would be starting a new chapter in my life. Sorta the first day of the rest of my life, because basically that exactly what it is. You will fine. Faith in God, who has faith in your surgeon as you do. I will keep you in prayer. -
I know what you mean...me too

Can you tell what types of food you eat that are protein filled? My dr. saids I can eat broccoli (but no protein value), greenbeans (again, no protein value). I'm open to suggestions. thanks.

I have to make a choice... a bike or a gym membership. i can't afford both. my friends split on this. so what do y'all think? i have made up my mind as to which i'm going to do - for now - but please tell me which would you get first? i will tell you which it is later on... i promise
-
The gym membership is official. I thought about and the gym fits me right. Biking will be in the future and not that far away. I will take my time and get to where I want to be mentally and emotionally b4 I get on a bike. I will get a bike just not right now. Thanks for all the suggestions, I really do appreciate it.

Phillygirl - you got support right here...VST... I thought the same thing until I came across this site. To me this site is my HOPE DIAMOND, looks good, feel great!! You Are NOT Alone and the pain - I feel you, but I walk every (not as far as I would like) but with the job that I have I get in at least 2 miles - in stages - but I get it in. Your body will tell you when to go, and it will tell you when to stop, just listen and above all - take YOUR time -

You go gurl, I'm with you on that one. I did tell 2 people but only b/c they are the supervisors where I work and I was out for a month so I guess they had to be told. I am amazed tho, no rumors going around (that I've heard), I guess they can keep confidence. -

I confess that I am not exercising like I should be either... I confess that I think about going to Cheesecake Factory and ordering a chocolate chip cookie dough slice of cheesecake  I confess I had a fish sandwish from McDonald's last week - I did not eat the bread tho.. like thats an excuse. I confess I WANT A CORONA SO BAAAAAAD!!!! I confess I could tear up a snickers right now. Now having confessed all this.... I will not go back to where I was...I ate the fish, the rest was in my head. I have come too far to turn back now. But I do like these confessions. It felt good to get that off my chest. -
