Uh.....you had me.....right up till the end where you said in 3 weeks you're only down 11 pounds. So.....you're losing 3.6 pounds per week....approximately. In 6 months that's 93 pounds. In a year that's 186. If you can't be happy with that..........

So when I went to the surgeon I was 447 (6'1). When I went for my 2 week pre op visit I was 428. Started my 2 week pre op diet and was 409 the day of surgery (7/18/13). Today 3 weeks post op I am 378 pounds. First 50 pounds off from pre op diet till today.
    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my sleeve!!!!
I really wish I did this in my twenties, but at 33 I will be healthy by 35!!!

Cherbear, just clarifying, but you've "only" lost 21 pounds in 3 weeks!! Poor girl. Lol. You may have some unrealistic expectations. This isn't magic!!! I'm teasing you, but I think you are doing frigging amazing!! Had there been any other time you have lost that much in that amount of time? I'd have to have cut off a leg to lose 21 pounds pre-sleeve. You are doing the right things. The weight loss will catch up. If you are losing any faster, you would die in a lean winter;). I think of it like this. How much do you want to lose? If its a 100 pounds, you are already 21 percent of the way there. ALREADY!!! You rock girl. Give yourself some props!!

Tanya, I'm sorry you are feeling some regret. I was so angry because I've been having pain, nausea (severe) and diarrhea with all of the Protein shakes/powders. At my post op visit the nurse practitioner said, "I don't know what to tel you. You just have to do it." Only an idiot is going to purposely continue to make themselves sick. Luckily, I figured out it was whey and lactose and eliminating them has helped. Each sleeve is different and it sounds like yours is particularly sensitive. With the fluids, does temperature or taste make a difference? I love McDonald's tea and I'm drinking a couple of those a day because they go down so easy. Popsicles are one that I do well with also. As for meats, I am finding that tilapia is my go to source. I don't love fish, but it's light and agrees so well with my sleeve that I am becoming a fan.

I'M AN OFFICIAL COLLEGE GRADUATE AS OF 8/6/13!!
I am so happy that I've finally gotten to the end of this journey. After many sleepless nights, good and bad grades, endless studying, and everything that comes along with being in college, I've finally finished and reached the end. Now that i am done with school (for now) i am going to put my heart in soul into working towards my next goal which is to lose 40lbs by October 15th ( my birthday) . As of August 4th 2013, 3 months post- op, i am down 63lbs and i know i can reach goal if i work hard and eat right.
    Wish me luck guys!

I love all the updates. I'm 2 weeks out today. I've lost 13 pounds since surgery and lost 12 pre-op. I'm at 210 now. Yeah! I'm supposed to be on full liquids for 4 weeks but I quit doing it this weekend because.... Since surgery, every time I had a Protein Shake or Protein Powder, I would get terrible stomach pain, nausea and diarrhea. When I told them at my post op visit Friday, the ARNP said, "I don't know what to tell you you just have to do it." Well, I'm 43 and have worked in health care long enough to know that when they are full of s--t, you have to take responsibility for yourself. Clearly my surgeons office does surgery and not aftercare. I did some research and I believe I'm lactose sensitive and whey sensitive now. I started soft foods and feel 100 percent better. I was getting maybe 2 or 3 hundred calories. Today I had about 1000 calories, hit my Protein goal and feel human again. I did go to GNC today and bought brown rice and soy protein. I plan to try those as well.

I'm not offended by a religious post...this is the "talk lounge forum"...where discussions of any type can take place.
What does offend me is the "send to 14 friends in 10 minutes" part.
What? God has a timer and friend quota on blessings???

I once did a concert at a mental institution. I met a man who insisted he was Frank Sinatra Jr. To the best of my knowledge he was not.
I did not feel offended by his delusion, it was not a threat to my "beliefs", I was not compelled to find a way to stop his self expression. In fact, I was kind to him and worked around his delusion. We are both human beings and deserve tolerance which I define as "space to be".
I believe in God. I have also spent many hours discussing my faith with highly intelligent atheists. Many have exhibited graciousness and although quite opposed to my beliefs maintained a civil dialog. I feel like real warmth and mutual respect was established.
There are many ways we can relate to each other. I try to relate as I see opportunity without sacrificing my identity or character.
My Savior ate with tax collectors and rank sinners which bothered the religious folks terribly. He was not put off by the differences, he found a way to embrace the unlovely. I am not as longsuffering as He, but I'm working on it.

Amazing how bent out of shape people get at religious expression. In no way does the post do anyone any harm. Unless someone is trying to behead you let it go.

Hello all! I am excited that I found this group! I am a 39 year old mother of a handsome eight year old son and a wife of 8 years! I am hoping to get my life back. I have always been a big lady but I found myself at my highest weight. For many years I did phentermine pills but after my son i hated how i felt and the pills stopped working. I just kept adding on the pounds. I was so sad to go to a amusement park and was kicked off a ride because I did not fit. I was sleeved on June 17, 2013 and am excited to say that on July 27, 2013 I got on a ride at the same park with my son! It was snug but I fit! I am excited to have many more experiences like this ????

Not all surgeons go to purée quickly. My surgeon has me on clears for a minimum of 3 days and full liquids for a minimum of 1 month. Just follow the recommendations. It's one month of your life and the risks of non compliance don't seem worth it. Your stomach just had a MAJOR insult. Let it rest and heal completely. It's hard, but you can do it!

Natynat, you will be fine. This is no picnic, but they are prepared. The doc will give you good pain medicine and anti nausea drugs. If the ones they are giving you don't work, they will find something that does. Sending positive thoughts and prayers.
