I feel what you're going through...I had my sleeve Nov 13th...and I'm starving! Yes the Protein Drinks help.but let's be real, I'm hungry. I had a nervous breakdown on day 5 so I just went to bed..only to wake up from a dream of me eating a McRib with a Dr. pepper...I keep asking myself if I made a mistake. I know I didn't its just me going through the motions. It has to get better. It just has to... now my only obstacle is Thanksgiving...lol... keep your head up

I am a single mother of three, so I can relate. It's very hard when you have to do certain things on your own. Try to focus on the positives. If you are like me, you get very little alone time. Just think, you will get to shower alone, sleep alone and even use the bathroom alone . That's practically a vacation in my book! Be proud of yourself too. You are being very courageous and doing something for yourself. This is something that you need and will change your life in a positive way. In the ideal world you would have someone with you, but like a lot of single parents, we just have to do the best we can with what we have. And even though you may not have anyone there physically, you do have your family's support, and you have the people here for moral support. Get excited about the changes that you are making. I'm excited for you!!!

ok. I'm not a guy, and should butt out, but this was too funny NOT to comment on! I know you may have exaggerated some to make your point, and I get it. I have a feeling an smart quips and affectionate ribbing will cease once they see you attracting all the hot girls when you go out!
    Good luck!

    Fellas,
I'm getting sleeved in just over 2 weeks. Doing pretty good pre-op so far, but had a major slip up this weekend when I invited some buddies over for football. I'm back on track now, but it got me to thinking just what I'd tell the guys when I'll be around them soon eating practically nothing and sipping on Protein shakes and broth every quarter.
I've seen plenty of topics on this site about whether to tell your spouse/partner/GF/co-workers, etc. But what about the guys? You know what I'm talking about.
Here's how I envision that conversation goes down:
Me: Guys, I want to talk to you all about something.
Buddy #1: We know, your fantasy team sucks. Quit bitching about it!
Me: No, not that. Something serious.
    Buddy #2: Is it cancer?
    Me: No, nothing like that.
Buddy #3: Then it's not serious. Put your nuts back on
Me: No seriously guys. Listen, I'm planning on having WLS
    Buddies #1, 2, 3, and 4: .......................(stunned silence) ..................................................
Me: Um, guys... Hello? what do you guys think?
    Buddies #1, 2, 3, and 4: ............................(more stunned silence)..........................................
Me: I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I've decided to go through with it. It's the best decision for me, my health, and to get my life back
    Buddy #4: I didn't realize you had a vagina
    Me: Hey, that's not fair.
Buddy #2 (to Buddy #4): Yeah, that's not right dude.
Me: Thanks for the voice of support man
Buddy #2: No, I mean, I think we already knew you had a vagina.
    Me: Uncalled for dude.
Buddy #1 (to Buddies #2 and 4): Guys, lay off him.
Me: (Not saying thanks, just waiting for the punchline....)
Buddy #1: I mean, it's probably just his time of the month.
Me: (And there it is). All right, you guys suck. I'm outta here.
Buddy #3 (yelling out as I leave): Hey, give Randy Jackson my best, dog!
    DOOR SLAMS SHUT. <END SCENE>
So I ask you men: What have you told the fellas about your surgery and weight loss?

The prayer.. Lord we love you and you're Our Father. We can and will do all things through Christ who gives us our strength. We declare that the decision we had made lines up with your will and that you continue to be the healer and helper that your are. Everyone under going surgery or have had surgery will have a steady recovery. We declare no leeks, dehydration, healthy mental attitude, and strength to endure. In Jesus name. Amen :-)

I am scheduled to be sleeved October 8th with Dr. Garcia. Part of me is excited and ready to get this show on the road. Another part of me is wondering if I have lost my mind. Is anyone going to be in Mexico 10/07 to 10/11?

Thanks so much NDN and Tfazio. Yes, I believe God played a part in it. Sorry if that offends anyone. In fact, my aunt, who was like a mother to me was a nurse who died in 2010. When I pray I always think of her. When I went in for this surgery, the nurse came in and said, "Hi, I'm Terry Ann." which was her name. I love you guys. I'm going to do this, I just need more time and I needed this information to have a good outcome. I will tell you that Alma with ready for a change has been so kind and supportive of me. She went above and beyond what she had to do with the cancellation. I can't remember, but Tfazio, aren't you going to Dr. Garcia too?

Kiki and sacharliem we are so close in dates. Fun. It's nice to have a built in group of buddies. I am nervous though because I unexpectedly had to have a surgery this pat Friday. They had trouble getting me off the vent. I was assured I wouldn't know I was intubated bc it would go in after I was asleep and come out in the OR before I ever woke up. After the surgery was over, the surgeon came out, told my boyfriend I did well and he could go back to recovery with me in a few minutes. Apparently another 2 hours went by. I woke up in recovery, hearing everything the docs and nurses were saying but unable to move a muscle. I was scared to death bc I could feel that I couldn't breathe on my own, felt like I was choking on the endotracheal tube and couldn't even let them know I was awake. Has anyone heard of that before? Does that mean it will likely happen again? Can they handle that type of situation in Mexico? I'm kind of freaked out. I saw a couple of nurses on here. Any thoughts?

Good luck to you too. We will be getting healthy ( and hot;)) at the same time. I have done one YouTube Vlog and plan to do more. Search lonischram. I meant to do more and sooner but actually had to have a surgery today. This one was not planned and came up in the past week or two. That's thrown me off. I will get back with the program. Do you have a blog? I'd love to check it out if you do.
