Thanks all. I am good. I just want my turn and I try to patiently wait. I want to move into next phase of my life. I know there will be physical pain (from surgery), mistakes (possibly eating wrong) and hopefully great triumph (weight loss). I get excited for all those there in a place I want to be in. Just want my turn with a great weight loss. It gets scary because I felt like this with Lapband only to fail. I cannot leave my support system. Thanks for all comments.....it helps me a great deal.

Wow. I could've just about written that SAME post around January!! You really do obsess just trying to figure out what life will be like post op. Taking a break is a great idea, especially the week before surgery. Limit your time on here or you will freak out on what people are writing. Go flush your brain of it all for a while. That's a good idea.
If you've decided surgery is right for you, then don't let any negativity from anyone ruin that for you.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey. It really helps those of us that are waiting for surgery. We need to hear how bad it is and how good. I know when you heal you will be on your way. Best of luck and you are in my prayers.

I use the Pure Protein powder in Frosty chocolate. It's only 140 calories, 3 carbs, 25 grams of protein. It's not too sweet and it is very reasonable, I buy it at Walmart for under $20 for a big tub. I don't put it in the blender it gets too frothy - I mix it with water and put the shaker bottle in the freezer until it's really cold almost crystalized.
The ready to drink Premier Protein from Costco and Sams Club is also very good - and about $25 for 18 cartons, 150 calories, 5 carbs and 30 grams of protein.

I feel Unjury so far has been best in terms of still liking it over a period of time...unflavored is very useful.

As you know stress is also a cause of hairloss. Our bodies perceive periods of quick weightloss as stress too. Even though we know that our weightloss is a good thing, our body sees it as the big famine has hit. So,try to de-stress in other areas of your life and certainly get your required protien in. Their are several good vitamin and mineral formulas that are specifically for hair and nails. Eating jello is good too, as you may know. I may not be sleeved yet, but I am a nurse.

I was taking Biotin & my NUT told me it wasn't necessary. I stopped taking it & noticed more hair loss, Sooooo I'm taking it again, as I feel it helped slow the loss before. It takes a while to get in your system, but I know it works for me! Hope your hair loss slows down. & I hear it's less noticeable with short hair, but I have always had my hair short. Easier to take care of. Good luck.

One word, MEN! They were not wired to nurturers! Call on your Aunt since she volunteered. Will be a great opportunity to deepen your relationship!

Actually, it seems that congratulations are in order. You asked a friend to help, he said 'Yes,' but his behaviour raised red flags so you asked someone else for what you needed. Great self-advocacy, actually. And putting it down to cynicism or pessimism actually dismisses the people skills you have developed. You rock.
It's not about only relying on yourself... that's not always healthy either. It's about recognizing the discrepancy between what someone says and their actions... you always go with the actions. Instead of guilting your (former?) friend into keeping his word (what fun that would have been!) or having a pity party and deciding you're going to "do it myself!" you reached out to someone else. I'm sorry your friend wasn't as reliable as you wish, but you solved the problem in advance. Ta da!
For the nerves, do a little strategic catastrophizing, and then contingency planning. Think about the absolute worst case outcome for the PAT, and then decide what you'll do about it if that outcome happens. Make real plans. "If the PAT finds that I'm not in my right mind and can't competently make this decision, what will I do?" Make a list. Then go on to the next worst case scenario. Do that until you've covered all the possibilities. Then put the list in a safe place and willfully, mindfully, refuse to think about outcomes. You've got it covered. And keep yourself busy. These will be the longest three days of your entire life if you're doing nothing.
Hang in there! You're almost there.

I hear you sister! I can empathize. Your sleeve date does seem a long way away. I know I was also so very anxious and wanted to have my surgery sooner than later and once approved, the date couldn't come soon enough. I think when I was first approved a surgery date was set out a few months but then there was a cancellation and I got in sooner. So..., you might want to get on the list for cancellations and maybe get a date sooner.? If that doesn't happen, you have time to prepare. Try to change your eating to all healthy and vital nutrition now for you and your family. I highly recommend three movies to watch that are super motivating and will help to get the message that the processed food and junk we all used to eat (hopefully 'used to eat' is the key and that stuff is in the past since being sleeved and more aware of good nutrition) is just NOT necessary for life and good health. They are - "Forks Over Knives", "The Weight of the Nation", and "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead". I highly recommend watching these movies. It will change something for the positive and better nutrition you and what you are feeding your family - and what you shouldn't be feeding your family. I recommend watching these...you know, in your free time when you are not chasing around your four kids! Yikes! Time to concentrate on YOU!
And, I recommend exercise every day as the stronger you are the easier your recovery will be and you will be one step ahead! Meditation and visualization is also something to start practicing. It will all help in the long run.
Make this time as positive for YOU as you can.
    Best of luck to you.
    One Love.
