My Hubby Keeps Eating My Food!

It is not that I mind him eating healthy food, but I have my stuff in smaller portions, and where I will eat 1 cheese stick a day he will eat 4 or 5. There is block of cheese he can cut bigger pieces from, but instead he eats the stuff that is portioned out for me. Ensure shakes aren't cheap, and he will have one for breakfast and a muffin and whatever else. I wouldn't mind if it was because he wanted to eat more healthy but it is just because it is easy for him. Maybe this is a more deep seeded issue for me. I have always been very protective of my food, but this time it feels more personal for some reason.
  3. It looks as though your cycles are getting a lot closer together. I have only had 4 periods in my life that have not been induced by birth control. The longest I have gone is 5 yrs in between periods. I have one child that is six and I only got pregnant with her after losing a LOT of weight, in a really unhealthy way, and was on birth control and had missed about a week of pills. She is my miracle baby. I am hoping that having the sleeve done will help me have another baby and take care of the PCOS. Hope all the ladies here get what they want from the surgery!
  4. I have always had an eating problem since I was six. Before I even looked into getting surgery I worked on my binge eating problem. When I was dieting I would be good all day counting calories, eating what I was supposed to, but there would be a voice in the back of my mind thinking, omg I want a burger and fries, and some cereal, ect.... Finally I would give in and just go wild and eat everything in sight. Afterwards I would feel so guilty and then would get depressed about it and do it all over again. I even went through a stage where I would purge after binging. Finally about a year and a half ago I decided, I am not going to feel guilty about it anymore, If I binge I binge, and my weight went up about 30 lbs, I ate everything in sight, but a funny thing happened I started losing the weight slowly. I didn't feel guilty about it and didn't have to hide it anymore, so I didn't binge nearly as much anymore. I also started finding things to do to keep me distracted around the times that I would eat the most, at night time. Emotional and binge eating are so hard to change, but it is possible. I know that after my surgery I am going through a bit of a relapse, but I am not going to give up, and not going to beat myself up over it too much, because I know for me that just leads to more bad decisions. Take it day by day and don't give up!

11 Days Post Up And Feeling Sick

I am really starting to worry that my experience is not normal! I am 12 days out now, and have resumed my normal daily life. I eat most things that I did before just in very small quantities. After the first 5 days after surgery I have felt great with no pain, no real problems at all. Most people that I hear from have at least 6 weeks of real recovery. I don't know if I am just healing especially well or if something is really wrong with me. I hope that you get to feeling better, just remember to stay hydrated and get some rest!
  6. I know that having the sleeve was supposed to cut down on the amount that you can eat but I never expected it to work this well. Honestly I have had an eating disorder since I was about six years old. I used to sneak food at night and get rid of the trash outside so that my family would not see what I was eating. When I got work babysitting at age 12 all of my money would go to getting food. Before my sleeve I could easily eat $20 worth of food from Taco Bell, and not feel full. Today I had 1 bean burrito and was stuffed!!! It is an amazing feeling, one that I have not felt in a LONG time, due to years and years of binge eating. I really hope that this lasts, but I have heard of people stretching out their sleeve and having to get it redone! I am curious what other peoples diets were before and after the surgery, how much could you eat in one sitting before compared to what you can eat of the same food now?

    Never Trust A Fart!

The day after the surgery the nurses kept asking me if I had passed gas yet, and I kept answering no, and asked if I was supposed to. I wanted to get out of the hospital as soon as possible and get back home to my nice comfy bed....so when the tummy started rumbling and I felt like I needed to pass wind I gave a little push....only to find that it was not gas at all !!!! I was extremely embarrassed. I could not believe that this was happening to me. Luckily I had a private room, so I quickly went into the restroom and finagled getting my undies off which was complicated with a catheter and hopped in the shower. It really was the most disgusting thing that has happened to me since being pregnant. I am so relieved to find out that I am not the only one that this has happened to. A week after surgery and I don't trust gas to be just that.

4 Days After Surgery And Worried

I honestly thought I was the only one going through this. I got the sleeve July 9th, and the first few days were rough, I could barely even stomach the baby tylenol they were giving me in the hospital. After coming home on Wed, I ate Popsicle thinned out oatmeal with protein powder and pudding and that sort of stuff. Then Friday night I had a bite of my husbands sandwich and chewed it really well and took it down with a sip of water and did not have any trouble at all. Today I have had some pudding but also some regular food that is chewed up very well and swallowed with a bit of water and have not had any trouble. I am a bit worried that the surgery did not work and I am going to not lose any weight from this. My doctor also put me on prevacid to help with any reflux and I was thinking that was supposed to help out with the hunger pains and stuff. I am going to call my Nutritionist on Monday and get an appointment to go in. Maybe I just need things to keep myself busy, but even if I am eating when I am bored I thought that the surgery was going to make me throw up if I ate something I shouldn't before I was allowed. I went through all the pre-op classes and counseling and this is not at all what I was expecting.

    Restriction Will Come

How long did it take for this fullness to come? I am only 5 days post op but I don't get full. I have started eating mushies already and I don't stay full for long on those either. I am not sure what is going on. I think I might need to go see my NUT and find out what is going on.

    Hello Everyone!

Hi, My name is Kellie and I live in Calgary. I moved here from Texas a year and half ago with my husband and daughter who is 6. I entered the Calgary Weight Management Program in January and got the call last Friday that I will be having surgery on July 9th. I wasn't expecting to have surgery until September so I was in a bit of shock. I am currently on my pre-op diet of Ensure High Protien drinks 4x a day and that is all. It is really hard right now, but only 12 days left of the intense hunger. I hope to find some information from those of you who have been through this before. Thanks!
