This happens every time I eat. My surgeon says it will get better. I'm on prilosec and gas-x doesn't help. It's as if the gas is already there, the food just makes it move. I was sleeved 8/27.

I planned on changing but my oversized hospital gown was ok. I didn't feel like bothering with changing clothes. And I definitely didn't care about a bra at that time. I didn't even wear one on the ride home. =)

My first puree meal was tuna salad. It was sooo good after all those liquids. I also tried the roast beef hash I saw on the eggface website. It looks and smells aweful but I added a touch of BBQ and it was very good. Other than those I just threw whatever I cooked for my family in the mini processor.

Hey a little ego boost never hurt anyone. And you deserve it. Hopefully you'll be returning the favor soon (only 1 month out for me).

My insurance required I have a 5 yr history of a BMI of 40+. Does yours only require a one time or had you just lost weight and needed to get back up there?

HUH?
Do you have any idea of how stereotypes are formed? What' date=' then, is the basis of the stereotypes about men were you referring to?
And what stereotype did I lump YOU into? The one who has stereotypes about men? Well, uh ... I think you put yourself in that one from your first and second post ... Right?[/quote']
I sayed men don't like following instructions (example... my husband will try to put something together by himself first, when he gets stuck THEN he gets out the instructions) This doesn't make him an idiot nor worth getting rid of. Stubborn maybe but laughable. You lumped me into a group that you say refers to men as bumbling idiots in the matter of childcare, house work, and other such things. You are the one who brought all this up as if you had already been mad about it from somewhere else. If I had said "well that's the problem, he's a man and is too stupid to know better" I would stone myself with you. But I meant no such thing. But I think none of this helps the OP so start a post about the "man basher" and have at it. All I have tried to say is that I never said or inferred that men were idiots. And if anyone took it that way I'm sorry.

Thank you. This helped me put it into perspective a bit. Im just being paranoid I guess. My mom had hers done on Tuesday. She has a 34. Since my surgery is scheduled maybe Im just having that "buyer anxiety" and wondering if Im getting the "best deal" lol
My surgeon also said he uses the slightly bigger size because it has less side effects/complications. I never got sick even once. I think the main discomfort I had at first was due to the hiatal hernia repair he had to do. I've never "slimed" and when I eat that one bite too much I'm just very uncomfortable. I've never worried about throwing up in public. Down 31 lbs since 8/27.

I understand a few members on this site seem to only want to insult others and bring them down. I'm sorry if you felt I was joining that crowd. I don't look at what room I'm going in to when checking my "current" tab but I'll be sure to leave the mans room alone in the future.
BTW I never referred to anyone as a bumbling idiot and never spoke of kids, house work, etc. but I'll accept the stereotype you lumped ME with.

I have BCBS of NC so I dont know what your insurance requires but have you printed out the actual policy? Mine only accepted certain co-morbidities and they had to have been diagnosed for a certain period of time (like 6months - a year or something ) also my bmi had to be above 35 (with co-morbidities) or 40 (without) for atleast 5 years.

My doctor said he uses a 38. I'm only a month out so I can't speak for long term but I can only eat enough to fill two medicine cups (2 fl oz). Drinking is getting better but I still have to drink constantly to get my Water in.

I want to do the tough mudderDon't think I'll ever say those words. Lol.

Yeah' date=' women have NO control or food issues, do they?
Please don't bash men in The Man Room forum.[/quote']
No man bashing here. And no mention of anything to do with food. I was referring to the "rules don't apply" comment. Women have stereotypes that are very true about them (such as giving into men even when it's not in their best interest - not talking about OP... I have done this). A man stereotype that is often true (I am admitting there are exceptions) is that rules don't apply and the very similar case where they don't need instructions. My dad is getting ready to have the sleeve and I know that rules will not be enough for him if my mom isn't strict about the foods she keeps at home... not just because of temptation but because he thinks that if he feels better, he must be better. So I am educating both of them on the rules and monitoring what is being bought and prepared until they get the hang of it.
I was a woman asking another woman a question be it in the men's or purple people eater's room.

Haha. My mom did that for me on week 2.

I get my Water in better by carrying around a large ice water from Sonic. They are 33¢ and the Route 44 is just 44¢

Me too! Even today I had veg Soup (without potatoes) and I needed a nap. Lol. I think it's from being full also.

He decided that "the rules" didn't apply to him' date=' so he went directly into eating normal food. He still ate very small amounts and tried to chew everything well but it just didn't settle very well on his stomach. Since we went to the BRAT diet, bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast with added cottage cheese, he is having a much easier time with his stomach.[/quote']Ahhh... that's a man for ya.

When I started this journey in May I was determined to have Lap-band. Like a friend said.. "why cut out part of a perfectly healthy organ?" So after meeting with the surgeon and hearing the presentation I decided to research the long term effects of band and sleeve. I joined this forum and it's "sister" lap-band forum and hit the complications boards. After hearing the horror stories on the band forum and seeing how many more complications there seemed to be I decided the sleeve was for me. I remember one lady saying she was hungry all the time but could barely swallow Water (even with just a tiny fill). Then a coworker of my husband is a year out. My husband said he watched him at lunch one day take an hour to struggle and get two bites down before he just gave up. Sure they say it's reversible but then I saw how many people had scar tissue even after removal that caused them problems. I'm not trying to make up your mind but do what I did. Check out both boards.
Has Anyone Experienced Memory Loss?

I had initially planned to go back to work after 1 week. Due to weakness, I could only work half days. But my memory was so bad I really wasn't much help. I even had trouble recalling coworkers names. I couldn't even think straight. Everything went back to normal probably about a month out.
