    Breakfast Ideas?

I need some ideas. I am really struggling with breakfast. I don't really like eggs. And protein shakes keep making me sick. Once I find one that doesn't upset my stomach a week in and then it makes me sick too. Pre sleeve I was mostly a carbs for breakfast kind of girl. So now I need some new ideas. Help....

    Does Anyone Have The Treadclimber?

My husband bought me a nice one from a used sports equipment store. You may want to look at some used ones. A lot of people buy them and don't end up using them so they are practically new.

    Does Anyone Have The Treadclimber?

I don't own one but my gym has 4. It is a tough workout. 10 minutes on it and I am exhausted. I own an elliptical though and I love it.

I am down 18.2 since surgery and 24.8 total. I am just not hungry at all. I never thought this would be possible. I previously had a lap band and it was always a struggle.
  5. I am 2 weeks out and had some pain on my right side. I asked my surgeon and he said it was just part of the healing process. He said there were internal sutures and scar tissue was starting to form. And certain motions can aggrevate them. He said it would be normal for a while even if my incisions are healed. Mine felt like I had pulled something and I had not done anything strenuous. I told him I was just making sure I hadn't tore something in there. He just laughed.

    Surgical Tape

I am also allergic to most adhesives. I noticed that the clear patch they use on an IV didn't bother me so I went to CVS and got several boxes of them. They are called tegaderm. Also I asked my surgeon to use glue this time.

    6 Weeks Post Surgery

I am only a week out and I am experiencing something similar. Nothing tastes good. I am hoping this is temporary because it will make getting my fluids and Protein in very difficult.
  8. My doctor said if you mix your protein with water it can be considered clear liquid.

How is everybody doing? I am doing ok. I was able to come home yesterday around 3. So far today I have tried a variety of liquids and the only thing that goes down easily is broth. Other than that I have been doing great. I was able to shower this morning. It is amazing how much better that made me feel. Hope everybody is doing well.

Just one more day.... I am still so excited and nervous. I have a lot going on right now and just feel a little unprepared. I still have to pack my bags tonight.

I have a two week pre op diet. I started a day early on Monday. My diet is pretty much protein drinks during the day and lean meat and veggies for dinner.
  12. When I had my band removed it was a pretty easy recovery. The surgery was done outpatient. As far as diet I was on clear liquids the day of the surgery and then after that was able to move to a regular diet as tolerated. I had my surgery on a Wednesday and was back at work on Monday.

So I have been lurking on this site since November 2011 when my surgeon first suggested the sleeve. I thought I would make it official and "put myself in the books." My story- I had the lap band placed in June of 2007. I did great for a bout a year. I lost about 70 pounds. I started experiencing reflux issues an eventually got to the point that I was having difficulty swallowing. All of the fluid was removed and stayed that way for a long time. Once my surgeon tried to add fluid but the reflux was terrible. So in Novemer of 2011 he told me it was time to remove my band. And he also suggested converting to a sleeve. He actually suggested bypass but due to some experiences with close friends and family I explained it was not an option for me. My surgeon prefers to do the surgery in 2 phases so in February I had my band removed and on May 22nd I will have my sleeve surgery. For a while I wasn't sure that I was going to go through with the sleeve, but now I am pretty sure it is the route for me. I am excited and nervous and just ready for the 22nd to get here.
