    Hello all,
I had heard that gardening was a good exercise, but I have never been horticulturally inclined, but my mother loves her flower beds and has been wanting to weed and plant. It is has been much too hot, but last night was comfortable enough that I decided to help her weed...I mean how hard could it be? My tiny 82 year old mother with moderate cognitive impairment worked me into the ground. After an hour, I was sure I was going to die; after 2 hours, I was sweating so hard, it was raining inside my glasses.
This morning, all of my muscles from the neck down are threatening to file a class action lawsuit against my brain for reckless endangerment LOL. We finished two beds and have one more to do tonight. Wish me luck.
Seriously, gardening is very good exercise, provided you are paired with someone of the same physical fitness. I am so grateful she is still able to do this, even if I hope never to do it again once we finish, although I am fairly sure that one and done is not the nature of weeds.

I am not scheduled for surgery yet, but I am in Akron. I will have mine at the Kaiser facility in Parma; I think it used to be Parma Community Hospital?
    Good luck.

Nerves are a normal part of the process, I think, especially for a irreversible procedure. My feet got so cold, I cancelled my surgery before it was even scheduled. LOL I went to the seminar, met the coordinator of the bariatric program and the next day doctor's office started to call scheduling the preop tests, cardiology, pulmonology, etc. (such cooperation from the insurance company is not the norm from what I hear). Anyway, I went into a total panic, everything was happening too fast. I decided I needed to spend some time in therapy to find out where the panic reaction was from and so I am not going to be sleeved for at least six months. If you were not nervous, I would be worried that you hadn't thought it through enough. Extra socks and a few of those hot packs hunters use and you will be fine. Best to you and your husband.

I have never been married, so I offer no advice on spouses, but it seems to me that it is so helpful for sleevers to have their own forums, perhaps it would be helpful to create a forum just for spouses where they could talk to others of their own kind and express opinions, yay or nea or just confused. They could get feedback from others in similar situations and not worry about being considered un sympathetic or clueless. I have not read everything on the board yet, is there such a forum? Diva, you are a moderator, just a thought from a single pre-sleever.

I made the pre-op psych appointment and have been eating like a starving wolverine ever since. LOL I haven't even started yet...what will I do when surgery is actually scheduled? Park myself at the golden corral? Provided they don't decide that I am too twisted to get the surgery. The scheduling nurse asked some very odd questions. One foot in front of the other until I reach the Kingdom of Sleeve. (I hope)

Okay, I have not seen a thread about this, so if I am being repetitive I will apologize in advance. I want to start a support group that meets virtually by cam so the people meeting can feel like they are with a group. Who would be intersted in this? There is a limit to streams and i would like to start the meetings small, just as if you were to walk into a small support group somewhere. Then if the demand exceeds what we are doing I will figure something out.
Let me know of you are interested, I will create a group if I get enough likeminded people, and go from there. With the group I think it woud be best to add people who are participating in the chats - so once we met, we would go in and create a group, and add people as they have followed up interest with participation.
I am also going to create a Skype support group, wich is slightly differrent as it is more of a one-on-one option, and that group will be open to anyone since the foundation of the group will be to go in and post and see if anyone is available to skype.
    Lets see how this goes!

    Hello all,
Count me in also. I am 5 ft. flat and a BMI of 39.6. Still pre-op with Kaiser. Doing some counseling before I start scheduling testing. I have been in therapy off and on since I was thirteen and never discussed any food issues, even though I have been overweight since my teens. I am afraid of getting the surgery and then failing because some hidden issues rears up to bite me in the but afterward. Anyone in Ohio?
