Your stats are pretty similar to mine. I'm weighing 184 right now. I only get in about 600 calories a day. Still struggle to get in enough Protein. When I'm at a stall, I start the day w EAS drinks. It pretty much shakes things up and I'll see a weight loss the next day or two. I rarely eat any carbs.....maybe 3 wheat crackers w cheese or the bottom of a hamburger bun w my hamburger, which I can't eat all of. You've got some good advice given here. Good luck ahead!

Patrick, I am so happy for you to be having this surgery! You are a handsome guy and I can only imagine how you'll look like a "chick magnet" when you get your weight off.
The best thing to do for yourself is to stay on this board and get encouragement from the rest of us. The biggest change in my life has been.......well, I have several......1. I'm getting compliments on how I look.....but that's not the most important to me....it's this one.....2. I have stopped the negative "self talk" and self-loathing. That's all because I'm not eating crap or overeating. So for me, it's a mental thing. You'll read on this board that it's "brain surgery"....not stomach surgery. We need to readjust our brains to this new way of life. Believe me, I DO NOT miss the way of life I had before. All the pluses from this surgery way outweigh what I was before. Sure, I'm never had 100+ lbs to lose, but being "fat" is fat, no matter how fat you are.
You have a whole new life ahead of you! God bless you as you begin your journey. I'll be looking forward to reading about your journey. We are here for you. Slow down and enjoy the ride!

Lady Ivy is so right! I'll grill a bunch of chicken and we'll eat it for three days. I think it's all about planning. One of my favorite "go to" lunch or Snacks is a piece of turkey or ham wrapped around a piece of string cheese. Put a little mustard on it.

I think you are trying to eat too much. Remember, start with your Protein. If there is room for anything else, then you can try it. We went out to dinner last night. I had less than half a chicken breast and a few bites of mashed potatoes. I didn't have any rooom for the roasted vegtables. I brought home 80% of my dinner and will eat from it for the next couple of days.
food doesn't interest me anymore. I used to live to eat. I'd be planning my next meal while eating. It's a great feeling to feel in control. May this is how an person w an eating disorder feels. This difference is, I still follow my program and work to get my Protein and Water in. I'm losing slowly and know that one day I'll have to work harder at losing weight. Our sleeves do stretch out. So take advantage of the tightness now and loss all you can.

I spent most of today cleaning out my closet. I've got 8 big bags for Salvation Army! It was so much fun trying on clothes just to see that they hung on me! Today I ended up wearing a beautiful pair of white crop pants that are a size 16. I think I bought them about 6 years ago when I started losing weight on Weight Watchers. Obviously, I wasn't a success story, as the tags were still on them!
I have clothes that I haven't worn for years.....or else they were just too tight. So I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe.....all w/o going to the mall!

Trust me, there's no way you can't lose weight. Our stomachs are just too small to overeat. Plus, sugar will probably upset your sleeve, as well as anything w white flour in it. Can you tell I was a former sweet lover? ( :
I'm a slow loser, which is just fine for me. I'm at 189 lbs and getting closer to leaving, "obese" and entering the "overweight" status. Yeah!!!!

Great advice! I roll deli ham or turkey around string cheese sticks and put them in foil for my lunch at work. I wasn't good w Protein until I bought a "Bullet" blender. It's great! I use 1% milk, 1/2 frozen banana, ice and 2 scoops for protein. It mixes right in the mug you drink out of. I blend it and drink it in the car on my way to work. Also, Protein Bars are in my handbag for emergencies. You've just got to find out what works for you. But, YOU'VE got to put some energy into making it work for you.

readyforachange reacted to yecats in 7 Weeks Since I Have Been Sleeved! Update...
    Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to give a little update for some who might wonder how it is after being sleeved. I recall, not to long ago wondering how I might feel a month or two out.
First let me say, I went to Mexico, had surgery with Dr. Kelly.
I lost 12lbs preop (if I recall right lol). Since the time I was sleeved I have lost 25 more lbs. I am tickled.
I was on liquids for 2 plus weeks and around the 3rd week I started mushies. About 4 weeks I started soft foods. So far this has been a blessing but my sleeve has tolerated EVERYTHING. I have not ate one thing that has bothered it. I must say that I do pretty much stay by the book. I eat Protein first always. I have tried a lot of different foods. I even can eat not huge amounts but never have I ever felt like I was going to be ill. I do feel sometimes that I have had enough.
I did take 4 weeks off from work. I am a server at a very high volume restaurant and also clean houses for a living. Very physical work. I have no problems with energy level being low. I get in all my vitimans, protein and liquids. Everything has went almost to smooth.
If I did say I have had an issue it is that I continue to deal with Constipation ( sorry if TMI).
Some NSV's (non scale victories) that I am so happy about are
    1) I measured before and then a month after surgery and had lost 14inches total.
    2) I went from a 20 tight, probably 22 to a 16 wide easily
    3) My husband is lean , no weight issues and now finally after many years I way less than him. YEahhh. He is tall but .... who cares I weigh less.
    4) I have been walking atleast 3 miles aday, sometimes twice a day now and have started jogging also. ME JOGGING, CAN NOT BELIEVE IT!!!
    5) I can sleep all nite now, I also can sleep lying down, not with a bunch of pillows sitting me up.
    6) I can not believe I am going to say this but..... for the first time I feel attractive. It is not how I look but how I feel about myself. I can breath and not huff and puff when I walk.
    7) Oh yeah, I can cross my legs...lol. I love this.
    8) Okay... I am going to say it kinda.... lol , by choice I have not been getting a lot of sleep. Not only am I happy, my husband is a very happy man these days. Something woke up, my hormones have been screaming. ok I am done.
