    medical bracelets for Sleevers?

Kindle, it's cute. I like it.
  3. A sliding hernia is a hiatal hernia, there are three firms of hiatal hernia, "sliding", rolling, combined or type IV when another organ herniates as well, usually the colon. Mine was sliding and I was still out patient so I don't think that's the difference. My surgeon as done over 8000 plus of these procedures and he did tell me that there is a process for being approved to provide out patient surgery in your own surgery center. So the surgeon just has to be cleared by the medical board to provide that kind of service. Insurance companies also approve out patient surges faster as they cost less. My approval took 48 hours.
  4. I was out patient and I am not a self pay. I was in for surgery at 9:30 and home by 4:00. I am 7 days post op. no issues or problems. 14lbs down.

    In need of some advice

13 year olds are temperamental. You want her to be comfortable but ultimately you are the adult and your decision will stand. She s at an age where body image is everything. She is your child and maybe she feels if you had to result to this surgery, then ultimately she will face the same fate. Reinforce that you will be healthier and able to be more physically active with her. While you change your diet, you can impose the healthy changes on her as well which will be a benefit. Let her know that " your together time", will not change and you can still work out together. Be honest with her about how you feel about yourself and yourself image, don't sugar coat it and don't lie about it. If she is mature enough to have an opinion based on the statement she made, she is definitely mature enough to handle the "reality". Good luck.

    African American Sleevers

I have no regrets about surgery. I dealt with my mental food demons the months before surgery. What I noticed is that I had made food my friend, my therapist and used it to down my emotions in. I have started to feel more like myself, my "real" self, the person who used to put herself and her needs before all else without feeling guilty about it. I had lost that for a while. Taking on everyone else's bull is how I ended up here.

    African American Sleevers

I am 7 days post op and I still have a drain, which will be removed on Friday. I also had hernia repair. Drains are very common but not all surgeons use them.

Amp, experiment with different seasonings, instead of same old thing. Go on amazon and purchase bariatric cookbook for ideas to spice it up. Keep your head up!!

Iamblessed everybody's surgeon is different. We can have puréed or cooked soft chicken, fish or Turkey. We can also have potato or sweet potato mashed and some other things at 3 weeks. I don't know about tomato soup. I know I can't have it because its acidic and cause reflux. You had hernia repair also, so maybe not a good idea.

Amp, you are depressing yourself. You have to get up and walk. You have to find something else to take your mind off of food. Food has literally been our lives, now you must focus on who you are without it. Food can not be your everything. YOU HAVE TO WALK. Your motivation is your health. Come on YOU CAN DO IT! we all can!!!!

I get stinging in my belly button incision not burning. I also get some side pain, I'm sure it fron the one comfortable position I could sleep in for the first 3 days. I put too much weight there. My breast are also really heavy, so sleeping on my side may have caused that pressure. Yours may be gas, you would be surprised, it does some weird things to shoulders and sides. Try some gas x and walking it may stop the pain.

    Back to work :-(

Away, maybe you can get a letter from doc requiring you to drink water, so you don't have issues.

Lady, I am so ready to ditch the drain too. I go Friday at 10:00 am. I've had to change the dressing everyday since I got cleared for showers as it gets wet. It's so awkward. I mean getting dress is a challenge daily. And I hate hate hate broth!!!!! I never want to see it again unless I'm putting it in a recipe, lol. Other than that I'm doing okay. I'm not stressing, just getting liquids in. I can't wait until Wednesday got my Greek yogurt and cream soup ready. I don't mind eating a couple bites, I'm good with that. I just can't wait to heal so I can actually eat a couple bites. Lol lol
  21. I'm trying Isopure but I haven't found a great flavor. I froze the blue one today (not sure what flavor that is). I was able to take in a 4 oz frozen cup of that. I hate the after taste, make me feel like I have some kind of film in my throat. I'm gonna keep trying.

Congrats KeeWee great job! I'm only 6 days post op feeling good. This is the first day I was able to get protein in. I'm at 40 grams and counting. I can drink all liquids with no problem. I won't be on pureed until June 3. So I don't fully see my restriction yet but I'm sure I will. I dink A LOT of water. 14 lbs down, things are going well. I get my drain removed on Friday. Can't wait. Keep up the good work.
  23. I am six days post op. I can get in A LOT of liquids as long as they are cold, especially orally water. This morning is the first day that I have gotten in a decent amount if protein. I'm at 15 gms and shooting for another 15 at the moment. Prior to that, I just drank liquid.
