Anyone Regret Being Sleeved?
nursing38 replied to Preacher's Wife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 2.5 months out and have not had any regrets. Of course I was blessed not to have any pain and only threw up once. It was my fault though because i tried eating red meat and took one bite to many. I didn't listen when my body tried telling me it is enough. About not being able to enjoy food, i am taking it as a way to change my tastebuds and enjoy the small bites I am allowed to eat. No more junk food, learning to eat better quality food and enjoy each bite. It is a mental game because some times I want a mc donalds cheeseburger. Just have to remind myself that it is all bad and there are better choices. It is not easy and there are challenges but no regrets. -
Stop Playing With My Emotions
nursing38 commented on tmorgan813's blog entry in A funny thing happend while I was loosing weight
my question is how are your clothes fitting? are they getting bigger on you and are you able to fit into smaller sizes. If so it is probably muscle instead of fat and it weighs more. if you are doing all that you should and working out then keep it up. I know it is hard not to look at the scale because I do the same thing. look for nonscale victories and give it a week or 2 and then check the scale. by then it should be giving you better numbers. -
Size 22 We Meet Again.

that is what I am currently wearing and I hear you. go to consignment shops and thrift stores. I live near palm springs(lot of rich folks) so I went up and hit the good will up there. was so worth it. I found high end clothes in good condition for $5-6 a piece. don't need a lot, just a few items to get you through. but from others I have seen posting a lot do this. maybe this would be a good option until you get to your ideal weight. -
I totally get the leg crossing. I havent been able to do that for 20 years. last week I sat down on my bed to put my shoes and socks on and automatically crossed my legs to do it and I could. I was able to do both of them and put on the shoes and tie them. I was so thrilled that I pushed myself harder during exercise. Even if the scale is not always making me happy these small things are. Also I bought a pair of size 18 capris that I am able to get up to my hips. hoping by the end of the month I will be wearing them. I was a size 26 in march.

I had bought 20/22 pants a few weeks ago at marshalls thinking I would eventually fit into them. today was eventually, in fact 2 of the 3 pairs were getting big. I am less than 2 months post op. loving it. Also put a pic of me last summer next to one from this week and it was like night and day. never realized how big I was until you compare. It is wonderful. BTW i started at 26/28 in january.

Day 74 To Day 81 – Death From Gastric Bypass, A New Size Again , My Husbands First Appointment
nursing38 commented on E-girl's blog entry in E-girl's Blog
the only ones I have heard of dying was from back in the 80's when the surgery was still young. Also someone passed in a program that was just starting. They had more to do with the surgeon's than the actual procedure. -
When Did The Scale Become The End All Be All?
nursing38 commented on tmorgan813's blog entry in A funny thing happend while I was loosing weight
I understand. I am 6 weeks post op. I actually gained a pound, lost it and now have been stuck for the last week. I did it to myself though. I ate a bunch of chocolate at work. Unfortunatly my body has been able to tolerate sweets. I was hopping it would make me sick but no such luck. I had been good up to that point but I broke. I am trying to stay away from the scale but it is difficult. I have no easy answer but it is nice to know I am not alone. -

Dear Food: You Suck! ....and I Love You...
nursing38 commented on Dooter's blog entry in My Second Chance
you said everything I have been thinking....love it, The taste of food has not changed for me, but 1 bite of the bad stuff is enough and I am satisfied. I am 5 weeks out and barely eating some a few bites of tuna. -
i took milk of magnesia and finally worked. you may try getting something from the doctor.

I am one month sleeved and do not get hungry. I spent my recovery time watching food network thinking of healthy ways to eat when I am allowed. Never once did it make me get up and go grab something. in fact i was having to remember to eat. That is still the case as I am spending my time trying to get the fluids in.

3 days before surgery -
I had my funeral for pepsi in October. I knew that if pepsi could go then I was prepared mentally to begin the journey for VGS. I did it, it was hard I drank pepsi more than I ate some days. Now I am ready to start the next phase in my life. Everyone at work was surprised to see me with water but it is so worth it.

The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!

This has been great, I have my date and am scheduled for March 13 with Dr. Aceves. Reading all the great info and making a list to pack, chap stick, riccolla and heating pad at the top. Getting excited and nervous can't wait.
