I completely understand. I have been stuck at 219 for over a month. I have tried breaking the stall but not much luck. I also want to be 190-200 by january. just keep up the work outs and monitor your intake. make sure your protien and fluid intake is up. good luck.

I Need To Lose 150-180 Pounds, I Need Your Opinions!

my co-worker has lost 180lbs with the sleeve. it is possible stick to your guns. those that have had the bypass seem to gain it back. good luck.
  4. most likely you are eating to fast. also could be the beef, I am not able to tolerate it. But when I eat fast is when i feel worse. also I eat less when i take my time.
  5. unfortunatly it is normal with surgery and biotin does help some. hair loss seams worse for some ppl than others. mine was already thin and at 4 mnths started falling out. I am not happy. just keeping it curled so it looks fuller.

    Alcohol.....

my co-worker had a few drinks the other night and said that she was buzzed almost immediatly but did not last long. I have heard the same from friends that had RNY. I am afraid to try anything with acid reflux problems.
  7. acampbell16... can your job leagally prevent you from using sick time for the surgery??? you need to check on that. it should not matter what kind of surgery it is. also fill out the disablility papers. The one good thing about Dr. Aceves was that he left it up to us when we felt comfortable going back to work. Most that i know took a month off and one person took 3 months and he covered it. Also when I spoke to my HR dept and told them i was having surgery they handed me the disability papers and told me to let them know what days they needed to put as my sick days no questions asked. even if your doctor doesnt think more than 5 days is needed your hr dept should be more supportive. BTW I was private pay and did not use my insurance but did use my UNUM which was great.
  8. I was able to walk in to target and jc penny in the last couple weeks and buy off the rack and the clothes fit. I almost cried. they were xl/16 which I have not seen since jr. high. I will keep the LB card until I can convince my sister to have surgery also. of course I did buy some cute clearance leopard print skinny jeans from LB today but in size 14... need something to loose into:).

    Slight Food Brag

    Follow Up After Mexico

I did the follow ups with my pcp but he is great and when I first mentioned surgery he wanted to know when it was. He has been totally supportive of me and a couple others I know. It really all depends on your PCP. I have heard horror stories from others who had no support from theirs and had to find someone new. definitly talk to your PCP first just to gauge how things will go. you need all the support you can get. As for the insurance I have not had to use it except for bp meds so I have yet to find out. and yes I do take meds its just now post-op they actually work while pre-op they did not touch my blood pressure.
  11. i am a nurse and so took 4 weeks off also to be safe. then took it easy the first couple weeks back. staff was great, helpfuland understanding and not letting me do to much.

But I Do Wanna Be A Size 6

@ finding meme you dont have to flaunt lots of skin to be sexy. shoulders and legs can be hot. keep them guessing. besides your man is the only one that counts. I to am modest and will never be able to show off cleavage and lots of leg. but enjoy what you got.

But I Do Wanna Be A Size 6

I agree with karen, I am so looking forward to a pair of hot jeans and knee high hooker boots. I coudnt even wear ankle boots until last month(fat cankles). But I am starting to get definition in my legs.I would love to be in a single digit clothes but I can not even remember them as I have been overweight since grade school. I am looking forward to that whole new world. being healthy will just be icing on the cake.

    Cost Of Vsg In Mexico

I am another Dr. Aceves patient. I paid $8750 in march. I picked him because he had performed the sleeve on 4 of my co-workers with great success. It was the best decision. No pain ever, only some nausea the first 2 days. He only does 3 surgeries a day and is constantly checking on you through out the stay. Do not regret a thing.

  22. I think I was lucky. dont remember anything until about 12 hours post op. preop they put me on my side to place spinal and that was the last thing I remember. I did have really bad nausea for a day post op. no pain and once I got up and started walking the nausea improved. even the 2 leak tests were not bad. thank God I didnt have a catheter. I have not had pain except when I try eating 1 bite to many. need to listen to my body more.

    Gallbladder Question!

That sounds like the surgeon wanted to double bill. My surgeon said it would be included in the cost if needed to come out. Mine did not. I also know 6 people who had surgery here in the states with 3 different WL surgeons in the san diego area and all of them had the gallbladder out and it was included in the surgery. I think it depends on the surgeon and insurance.

    Scars & Bikini?!

I love this, I am only 2.5 months post op and can't even imagine wearing a bikini. I hope I have this problem in a few years. not sure if I would ever feel comfortable in a bikini though. I agree with all those on sunscreen though. and the monokini is great for an alternative.
