  1. Hello, I am a little concerned and I want to know if this is normal so early in my post-op phase? I was sleeved 10/11/12 (9 days ago) I am feeling kind of hungry all the time. I am on full liquids and am able to drink way more than 1 ounce 15 minutes, in fact I can drink 1/2 cup of broth in less than 10 minutes and a few minutes later I'll feel hungry (not head hunger) and I can consume 1/2 cup of yogurt (thinned out) like nothing. I am following Dr's directions and am consuming anywhere from 48+ ounces of Fluid a day and Calories between 400-600 and Protein between 60-91 grams (that has been my range) It just seems I am able to consume quite a bit of liquids with no problem and I am worried this won't work for me? Please any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

    Kaiser Sleevers, I Need You!

1200 as far as I was told would be maintenance but I don't know, maybe that was her goal for your specific needs? It wouldn't hurt to give your Dr a call and just double check!

    Don't Want To Wait

You know what? I was supposed to have my surgery in June but I promoted at work in May and there was no way I was going to take that time off a month or 2 after promoting. It kind of sucked because I really wanted the surgery as soon as possible. The worst thing was the probation period at my job was 6 months long so I feel you on this, I really do. But time finally passed and I just had my surgery a little over a week ago. I know it's tough but hang in there, your time will come.

    Is This "normal"

Thank you Katie, somehow every time you have posted, you've managed to make me feel at ease. The smushies don't seem so yucky, the Isopure is ok after all and my sleeve IS going to work!

but it seems as your weight loss is going well? Have you lost 22 pounds since you were sleeved? I've lost only about 9 and that was in the first 5 days or so and nothing since.

I do track my calories on that website and I am consuming between 400-600 calories but I think I have yet to consume 500. I lost like 9 pounds within the first 5 days of being sleeved and have not really lost since.

I found this the other day (in preparation for what's to come) this lady claims she had no hair loss and this is what she did so I'm thinking I will try this. http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/carmelita/blog/tag/vsg+and+hair+loss/

    Post Op Pain Meds?

The taste will probably and quite definitely be horrible, I can tell you I had percocet while in the hospital and the nurse crushed it for me and put it in some lemon ice tea and it almost made me gag.

    Post Op Pain Meds?

I was told all pills would have to be crushed so if you do take it, you may want to ask your Dr if you need to crush yours.

    Hair Loss

Not yet but I hear it happens to most people and time is the only thing that will help. Hang in there!
  17. lbp: yes, it seems I am always running low and run right about the same as you do. After surgery I always drop lower at one point it was something crazy like 55/32 and they gave me medication to bring it up. On my period I am in the mid to high 80's over 50 something. I don't know why I run low but the doctor has never really done anything about it. I do get light headed and dizzy when I stand up too quick. Sorry, that's all I can say about that. Increasing your liquids should help raise your BP. Gall Stones: Yes, I had them several years ago and I had my gallbladder removed. I remember the pain waking me up in the middle of the night- I thought I was having a heart-attack! lol I had sever pain and tenderness from my right side underneath my rib that radiated to my chest and back. The pain was pretty intense but it would come and go. The onset of pain was usually triggered by eating anything high fat and would mostly always wake me up at night. Sometimes I felt I couldn't breathe. I would always be nauseous and throw up a lot after eating anything and everything gave me heartburn. That pretty much sums it up!

    Dominican Republic Plastic Surgery

My cousin had a procedure done in Mexicali and she looks great, she never has really had a shape being that she carried fat around her abdomen and arms and back and had no butt and looked very straight (no hips, boyish figure) the Doctor she went to performed a liposculpture and took fat from her abdomen and back areas and sculpted her a knock out body and gave her a booty. She now has an hour glass figure, a flat tummy and a butt. I went with her for the consultation so I met the Doctor as well because I plan on getting some fat transferred into my boobs and butt once I lose a good amount of weight. Are you ready for the shocker??? the procedure cost $2,500 I say it is money well spent to have a barbie like figure.

  23. I have not tried that brand but I will tell you I love chocolate but when it comes to protein shakes, I can't do chocolate! weird. It may just take you experimenting some. I didn't think I would like the lemonade or ice tea or grapefruit flavor cause they just seemed weird for a protein but guess what? i loved them and actually bought the canisters. Since it is a thin liquid like consistency, it makes them so much easier to drink them and get your protein in. Good luck!
  24. Yeah, I like them because I pretend I'm just sipping on lemonade or a juice; it really doesn't taste like protein. And they have about 23 grams of protein and are low carb/sugar.
