I just tried milk with some Unjury. I only had a couple of bites but my tummy was not happy about it. Within minutes I was feeling hot and my tummy was churning. I don't know if its lactose related or not. Never had any milk issues before surgery...idk...

I love this one! I don't like mayo at all but the sour cream masks the flavor really well.
chicken salad 2 can white chicken meat drained and shredded 3 thinly sliced green onions 1/8 teasp poultry seasoning 2- 1 portion Mayonaise and sour cream start with 2/3 mayo and 1/3 sour cream 3/4 to 1 cup craisins (dried cranberries) 3/4 to 1 cup sliced almonds or pecans or walnuts or pecans dash of garlic powder salt and pepper to taste Mix and refrigerate - great with croissants (but also great by itself) can use apples or grapes instead of the craisins. can even use pineapple chunks.

Honey, you are definitely not alone. I'm about 3.5 weeks out. I had to spend a total of 5 days in the hospital due to nausea and "being extra tight". I was only supposed to stay one night. I was only able to get 2 oz two in 24 hrs, four days after surgery. I still have a lot of "tightness" that makes it really hard for me to eat and drink. Eating gives me anxiety at times. It's more of a chore right now because it's so hard to get the food down. The journey this far has been a struggle but I am confident it will get better. Give yourself time to heal. Just make sure you stay in touch with your doc and let the office know what problems you are experiencing. Sip, sip, sip as often as you can. I'm still feeling tired and weak but I feel a little stronger each day. I hope you feel stronger and better soon too.

Cottage cheese has 11-12 gms of Protein per 1/2 cup. I will eat this if I am low on protein. (but I have always liked it..) Maybe worth a shot? Greek yogurt with a packet of sweetener and some cinnamon is good too!!

agree with Lissa 100%. I struggled so much with keeping anything down for my first few weeks. You will hear over and over again to stay hydrated. LISTEN. This will help you heal faster. Walking and moving around. Dont get discouraged. Eventually it will get better. I was feeling like no one understood and the people here supported me and guided me. They know what they are saying. The most important thing I was told was even if I couldnt take in my Protein, was to drink my Water and take my Vitamins. I could only drink 20oz of water a day but that got better with time. Im six weeks out now and still struggle but it is getting better. Dont be hard on yourself. When I couldnt keep things down, I started over with Clear Liquids until I was able to try again. Good Luck!!!

First of all, at only 10 days out, you're still very swollen inside. Ease up on yourself. Try drinking your Water with a spoon and letting it trickle down your throat. Then try changing the temp of what you're eating. If cold stuff is bothering you the worst, switch to warm drinks. I drank a lot of broth early post op.
I would also suggest finding some non-dairy sources for both liquids and Protein. I became lactose intolerant after surgery, and it's really not pleasant. It can definitely make you feel like you just don't want to bother eating. Ask your doctor for some suggestions...maybe really liquified refried Beans would work for you?
I'm not a fan of Isopuke anything. To me, it tasted like drinking sand..grainy and bitter. I also developed an intolerance for sweets that lasted until my 4th month out. I wish I could have kept that one!
Good luck! Your swelling will go down soon and make it easier for you to drink and move on to the next stage.

When your family sits down to eat, go for a walk...get out of the house and think about what life will be like after surgery. I mean I personally had to cook for my family of 5 after surgery even when I wasnt eating. I still make them Cookies, brownies, ice cream, cakes etc but I dont eat it...It is hard to get used to this but you can. It's ok to be emotional about not having the food, it is a greiving process. Your doctor gave you guidelines you need to do what you can to follow them. I wouldnt suggest you wait until 1.5 weeks is past to do it. Do it now.

Well it's been 6 1/2 weeks since my sleeve surgery. I'm amazed at my changes. Down 60 pounds today!!!!!!!!!! Dropped 2 pant sizes, 2 shirt sizes and the energy level is thru the roof!!!!! I even cleaned the garage today because I was bored. been working every day on my truck from morning until nite also. I've gotten so much done lately. Couldn't have proven it by me at week 1-3. LOL Alot is changing. Off all Diebeties meds, High Blood pressure meds, Cholesterol Meds and only take a Vitamin now. As of last Tuesday could have eaten steak, but haven't gotten around to it yet. LOL That's not me or that's not whom I was before surgery. I would rather of eaten a steak than done alot of things, not anymore. Going out for baked Haddock tonite, My new favorite food. Yummmmmmmmmmmm. My only complaint is about the restriction feeling or full, or whatever it is when I eat. Doesn't feel good to say the least. Feels uncomfortable after. Like I have gas in my stomach. But the lifestyle change that has come is truly amazing to me. I hope everyone here whom get's the sleeve feels as blessed as I do at 6 weeks out!!!!!!!!!

July 2011 I was over 290. I knew I was never going to fly again to vacation anywhere unless I drove or bought a extra seat plane seat. Then I had the Sleeve!
Now March 2012 at 179 pounds my wife & I will be going to Vegas for our 40th year married in July. With out the sleeve I would not even had thought of this. We have been before but last time the seat was very uncomfortable.
I did tell the wife "me going to a buffett was like a eunuch going to a ***** house. The eyes take in the pleasure, but that's all we can do."

wannabb08 got a reaction from WhoozisAnyway in Surgery Rescheduled To 3/21...
So the scheduler called today to said she received all my clearances for surgery. She then said the doc has three other complicated surgeries scheduled on 3/19 so they bumped me from 3/19 to 3/21. A little disappointed but I'd rather not have a tired surgeon at the end of the day so I'm going in at 5:30 am on 3/21.
I have my Post-Op nutrition class on Monday, 3/12 for 2 hours. Then pre-op consult with the surgery on Friday, 3/16.
    Moving right along!!!
    Any one else on 3/21?

I'm scheduled for the 19th too! I'm so glad to have others here with the same date. I had my gall bladder removed back in 1987 so I have a large scar but the surgeon said it probably won't be a problem.

wannabb08 reacted to pasquini in 10Months Out Ate My First Cheeaeburger Today
K well, i didn't eat the whole cheese burger. Lol, i ate half, and only the meat and toppings. Not the bun. My second oldest and i went to Nic's Grill in OKC it was features on "Dinner, Drive-in's, and Dives" it was good, and i could have eaten the bread if i had desired, funny thing is i didnt really care. So, what is my point?
Well, yes there does come a time after surgery when u really can eat whatever u want. Both physically and mentally. Its a great place to be. Notice however i mentioned this was my 1st burger. 10 months out and 12lbs below goal. So, i read a post here and there where someone is saddened that they cant eat this or that at 5, 10, 12 weeks out. My thoughts on this are (no i dont think i am an expert or know everyones circumstances) we made a choice to force a change into our lives. Sticking to a healthy eating plan should be a given! Why try to eat burgers and queso and cake and all that when u have not made goal, this tool is amazing, it works. And it works even better if we are focused and diligent. Did i cheat here and there? Heck yes, margaritas are a weakness but if I paid for it in a stall, or a pain in the gut, i understood why and how to correct it.
Now, here i am fighting the old demons as i order my with splenda! Did i mention im 12lbs below goal?
I run 3 miles 3 times a week an 10 miles on saturday, the truth is i can eat whatever i want now. And mostly what i want is good clean fuel for this new amazing body i woke up in!! You can get there, you can find that place where u can eat whatever, just in smaller portions. But it takes some time and work. It takes remembering that nothing tastes as good as thin.
I know this isnt as feel good as my normal encouragent post. I mean for it to be, i also mean for it to be a positive way to view where your headed and motivation to stay the course.
If your just starting out push forward dont give up, refocus when u lose track and fight for the beat version of you to crawl out of your old self!
