Thank you so much for doing this topic . I have PCOS for years now. I am 3 months post op and I am not longer insulin resistant. For the first time in 7 years, my insulin levels are normal yay!! My periods are normal,they were irregular and really painful before. I am having some Hair loss but I always had hair loss, I am lucky that I have lots of hair. I had 1 baby prior surgery,I have many cysts in my ovaries. And now I have my left tube blocked :/ I am not looking to have more children. But there is hope to get pregnant without fertility treatments. I lost about 40 lbs prior my pregnancy and that helped me to get pregnant. So after your VSG there is hope that you won't need fertility treatments even if you have cysts in your ovaries

I have PCOS and it caused me to struggled with infertility for 6-7 years . I finally got pregnant after losing 40 lbs doing weight watchers but that didn't last long after my pregnancy . So since I struggled with my weight my whole life , my dr decided to reffered me for weight loss surgery and I did research first in by pass for years until I found this site and picked the VSG for me . I have many health issues due to my weight . I'm a stay home mom for now with my 2 years old sweet girl . I'm planning to return to school soon to finish my bachelors degree in graphic arts .

Can we put this one to rest please. It is understandable that someone that has been through the hell Dawn (Iggy) has, due to a leak, would be more sensitive to potential leak causing activities.
I do agree though that "wishing a leak" on someone is a bit harsh, but is very uncharacteristic of Iggy. I'll say, whenever someone seeks advice in those situations, she is almost always one of the first to respond.
I think this boils down to a bit of frustration meeting a bit of sensitivity.

We are a support forum, anyone considering weight loss surgery, who has had weight loss surgery, is struggling with their weight, etc. is more than welcome to post on our forums. Maybe you drank your Protein Shake too fast? You will have some days where your appetite changes and at first right after surgery you won't be much hungry. Just make sure you drink plenty of Water too.

Hey has anyone been told they a have fatty liver? Did this affect your surgery in anyway?

The great city of San Antonio here Sleeved 11/23/11 with Dr Tyner at BAMC,down 40 lbs in less than 2 months and counting!!

Just want to share with everyone Power Crunch bars....maybe they are under the food section but I didn't find it in my search anyway....I can't beliee I have forgotten about these until today! My fav is Peanut Butter crunch but I know they also come in other flavors. Anyway 200 cal, 5 fat, 10 carbs and 13g protien....and the best part is that they are SOOOOOO good, nice and soft wafers so it's melts easily and goes down easy
They sell them pretty much everywhere here in CA....7-11, grocery store, costco in bulk....
