Thank you for posting!! I think I have been inspired to give this a try!! I have weighed 169-171 for 18 months now. (170 was my goal...) Haven't been trying to lose. Maintaining with ease! But, I have been thinking about shooting for a new goal weight of 155 ! I'm starting tomorrow with my first fasting day! Very excited.

    Aneroxic, is it an Issue?

I just saw this post. I happen to be a RN, and I work in a inpatient eating disorders center. I have noticed an increase of people being admitted with a history of gastric bypass, no sleeves yet...but I totally understand. They say exactly what you said. It is a big deal. I have seen some extremely sick ladies. Please get help as soon as possible.

    The Sleeve long term

Leaks are possible, however unlikely. your surgeon will educate you on warning signs. Try not to worry about that... I'm more than 2 years out. I can eat and drink everything/ anything I want. I'd guess 98% of us can. Don't worry about that either! I chose to make good choices usually...but can enjoy a slice of pizza and a beer on Friday night with my boyfriend, or splurge on a cupcake at work when a coworker has a bday. All in all getting sleeved was the best thing I have ever done for myself!
  8. I am a RN and worked in a clinic for 6 years. Depo is probably the worst birth control for weight... Just my opinion from what patients report. But it's not too late! You can take those 12 pounds back off. Cut back 100-200 cals a day and burn an extra 300 a day with excersise. Those pounds will be gone in a few months. Same thing happened to me, I took off 8 pounds in 7 weeks :-)

    heartburn after two years?

    - Lynda: YES... sad but I am 2 years out and recently had my Prilosec increased to twice a day! My doc says its not uncommon.... unfortunately he didn't have an explanation really!

Ate 1660 cals yesterday, am in full panic mode

Eeek... I feel like a freak here sometimes. I eat 2000 cals everyday... And I will continue to do so until my weight goes up even a bit. Remember it takes 3500 calories not burned to gain one pound!! And most ladies burn 1500 calories a day minimum, without excersise. No need to stress!

    Need some tips for gallstones!

From a nurse's perspective: chop that gallbladder out :-)!

    Weird question?

For sure even at 2 years post op my restriction fluctuates quite a bit! Normal :-) also since post op I can't tolerate artificial sweetners... So it's not uncommon to have adverse reactions to chemicals (such as preservatives in produce?)

    Happy Happy Happy

    Congrats!!
  15. I'm a RN, I would guess that if you're getting IM injections you wouldn't need the pill as well, but if you're very low you could need both. Depends on your lab values. I would look into getting it checked, you should be due at 2 years for a bunch of labs anyway!

    How much does everyone eat?

I'm with Cheri, I'm 2+ years out. I can eat the same as I did 1 year ago. It completely depends on the food. I can eat a 1/2 a box of cheezits (yes you read that right) or 2 cups of salad. But can only eat 3/4 of a small hamburger or 1 medium slice of pizza, 4 oz of streak/ chicken/ fish. Depends on what it is. I obviously avoid those evil Cheezits! :-)

    Sleevers by profession.

Another RN here. But I work in an inpatient eating disorders facility/ hospital. Odd isn't it!!

Zero problems hence the name "sleeve of steel" even early out!!

    Sad about new eating habits

2 years out here: just take advantage of the restriction now-- It is temporary!! Lose all the weight you can. I can't eat close to what I did preop but It is a lot more than the first 6 months. :-)
  20. I didn't cut carbs at all. NO sugar free anything... its toxic crap. I made my weight loss goal and I am have maintained for more than a year now. I am 2 years out!

    Diet soda

I don't really drink soda, I like it but its a waste of calories... I might drink diet soda but i think its toxic.. Artificial sweeteners make me sick. However, I do drink sparkling water and club soda. Probably 3-4 bottles a day. I'm 2 years post op. It has not and will not stretch my sleeve.

    2 years!

My portions vary, but typically for a meal: 1 cup of raisin bran with 3/4 cup of milk 1 large slice of toast with Peanut Butter and a half a banana cut on top. 4oz chicken breast 1 medium slice of pizza 1 6 inch sub way minus half the bread 1 easy mac cup (eeek!) 2 eggs with 1/2 an english muffin almost an entire small fast food burger. just examples!!
