A New Me

so its been 1 week since my surgery and feeling a little better.. I am still having pain but the heating pad has helped..I am still on Clear liquids and the only full liquids is greek yougart nothing else is going down right it hurts too much..My mood swings are better, did anyone else experience that??? also I have lost 5 lbs which is crazy to me. how is everyone else doing with food? bloating gas?

I am so sorry you are going through it too...it is not right for the name calling and Iknow we are strong and want to keep our family together so we put up with things we shouldnt have to...It seems like you are deciding on the surgery for the right reasons..not to please your husband, so far just loosing the little that I have I am already getting some of my self confidence back and boy does it feel good...good luck with your choice of having this surgery and I know good things will come to you.

I am post op day 4 and still having lots and lots of pain,. I am walking around the house every so often and making myself broth and things to drink . however, every little sip i take hurts going down. Is this normal....Im just not feeling good at all.. I am also having lots of gas come out both ends which of course is some relief..but when do thinkgs get better>> Im still up and down throughout the night

I DID IT! i AM FINALLY ON MY PATH TO WEIGHT LOSS AND IT HURTS SOOO GOOD.. NOT KIDDING ON THE PAIN PART. I HAVE TO SAY I I WAS EXTREMELY NERVOUS BOUT HAVING THIS SURGERY BUT I PRAYED AND PRAYED THE NIGHT BEFORE AND WHEN I WOKE UP IN THE MORNING OF SURGERY I FELT AT PEACE. I HAD SURGERY AT THE HOSPITAL THAT I WORK AT WHICH MADE THINGS ALOT MORE AT EASE JUST KNOWING SOME OF TRHE NURSES AND DOCTORS AT THE HOSPITAL. EVERYTHING WAS EXPLAINED TO ME VERY WELL AND MY SURGEON EVEN CAME OUT AND SHOOK MY HAND REASURRING ME HE WILL TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF ME BEFORE I WAS WHEELED OFF TO THE OR TABLE. I WAS THEN GIVEN MY HAPPY JUICE AND WOKE UP IN THE WORST PAIN OF MY LIFE MOANING AND GROANING...THE NURSE WAS PUMPING TONS OF MORPHINE IN ME AS FAST AS BE COULD. THANK YOU....ANYWAYS EVERYONE TOOK WONDERFUL CARE OF ME ALL THE NURSES AND DOCTORS KEEPING MY PAIN UNDERCONTROL AND I WAS VERY BLESSED TO HAVE ONE CASE OF NAUSEA...THE ONLY STRUGGLES I AM HAVING IS PAIN WHILE SWALLING LIQUIDS AND TRYING TO RID OF GAS PAIN. I AM ALSO VERY SORE USING A PILLOW TO WALK AND FOR SUPPORT GETTING IN AND OUT OF BED. i KNOW THINGS WILL GET BETTTER. WHAT PAIN MEDS IS EVERYONE TAKING??? I FEEL LIKE IM NOT GETTING ENOUGH RELIEF

so my surgery is this thursday, and yes I am super excited. However, I still wondering a few things about how I am feeling on this clear liquid diet.. I am handling the food craving pretty well just sticking to my protien shakes three times a day and then an unlimited amout of Jello, sugar free pops, crystal light , broth ect...I am to the point where I am gagging everything down, so sick of it..also I am extremely dizy and weak, is anyone else experiencing this??? It does not feel good I am no no energy. I feel like I am going to throw up all day. On top of everything else I am on antibiotics from a root canal I had last week but I should be finished with them tomorrow or wed. Is it ok to take antibiotics before surgery? The dentist said it should be fine but now I am regreting not calling my surgen.. I just dont want anything to pospone my surgery...Please I need some advice. thanks

WELL I CANT BELIEVE I AM WRITING THIS BUT TOMORROW MY STOMACH IS COMING OUT AND A NEW ME BEGINS WITH MY NEW STOMACH! I JUST CANT BELIEVE IT. I FEEL A HUGE WEIGHT LIFTING OFF MY SHOULDERS. FOR YEARS I HAVE BEEN FEELING DOWN AND AWFUL WITH THIS BACK PAIN THAT HAS BEEN TAKING OVER MY LIFE DUE TO ALL MY WEIGHT. I CANT BELIEVE THAT ITS ALL GOING TO CHANGE AND HAS BEEN SLOWLY TAKING PLACE SINCE I STARTED MY WEIGHT MANAGEMENT IN NOVEMBER...WOW TIME GOES BY SOO FAST. THIS LAST WEEK HAS BEEN REALLY CHALLENGING WITH MY CLEAR liquid DIET AND ONLY ABLE TO HAVE THREE shakes A DAY. I AM SOO HUNGRY BUT I HAVE NOT GIVIN IN TO MY SON AND HUSBAND EATING HABITS WHICH ARE GOING TO CHANGE TOO. WE ARE ALL GOING TO BE HEALTHY..SO HERE I GO TIME TO GET MYSELF BETTER AND BACK ON TRACK..ANYONE ELSE HAVING SURGERY TOMORROW OR THIS WEEK..GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE.. THANKS FOR SHARING. ALSO Vitamin SHOPPE AND VITAMIN WORLD DO THE SAME THING... ITS HARD BECAUSE NOT ALL PROTIEN BRANDS SELL THE SAMPLE SIZE AND PROTIEN IS NOT CHEAP..JUST MAKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR RECIEPT. I HAVE TALKED TO SOME PEOPLE AT THE WEIGHT MANAGEMENT MEETING I GO TO AND ALOT OF PEOPLE SAID THEIR TASTE BUDS CHANGED AFTER SURGERY AND THEY DIDNT LIKE THE PROTIEN THEY BOUGHT BEFORE. SO IF THE TUB OF POWDER IS NOT HALFWAY GONE AFTER SURGERY YOU CAN TAKE IT BACK AND TRY SOMETHING ELSE...I THINK THAT IS SO NICE..

so I cant believe that my surgery is next thursday the 9th.. I started my clears a few days ago which has been really hard..On top of everything I had to have an emergency root canal on my front tooth... My infection was so bad it is in the bone around my tooth. My face swelled up to the size of a tennis ball with my eye completly shut..Talk about the worse pain in my life!!! I am on a ton of antibiotics and pain medicine.. I have been so nausous from the medication and not having any solid foods.. I feel awful but the dentist said my infection should be better by my surgery next week.. Please pray for me.. I have been waiting for this surgery for so long and have been so excitied. I am just so bummed about my tooth infection.. The good news is as of today the swelling is about 75% gone but the pain is still there..I need all the prayer I can get..anything that can help with nausea and not affect my clear liquid diet??

Hi my name is lauren im 25 living in san diego.. I have been pretty overweight most of life except two years in highschool when I would run every morning and night..After that weight just packed on more than ever. Bout four years ago I met my husband and quickly became pregnant gaining bout 60 more lbs yuck.. I could feel it my back, legs, feet, you name it ache all the time..worst pain I have ever experienced. Which is pretty bad since I am only 25...My job working in the nursing field is even more difficult being on my feet for 12 hours and constantly lifting people throughout the day. I honestly dont know how I have kept my job..I have to push myself everyday to get up out of bed and move move move...Depression has also been the worst for me, I have a huge negative self image all the girls around me are so pretty and thin and pretty, basically not me. But I am hoping that will change with this surgery, I just need a little more help than most people. Im not like my friends who can gain weight, esp baby weight and just loose it immediately..... So my surgery date is June 9th which I believe is like 21 days from now..prob going to be the longest couple of weeks of my life.I am so anxious and just starting to realize that I do want this so bad more than anything.. I want to be happy, healthy, energetic to keep up with my son..There is so much I havent been able to experience because of this weight load...I am so happy that I can read everyones stories, this will def keep me motivated...more to come..

Thanks everyone for the help.. Im glad that others experienced the same as myself...I am ready again today to try not to even think about drinking soda, I want to follow all the rules and change my lifestyle the right way..thanks again

Hey from San diego, anyone here sleeved by dr fuller???

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow which Im sure I will get more info...But as I look through the discussions, how is it that some are doing a 2 week liquid diet and others are doing a 1 week?? I was told to do a 1 week but is 2 better??? does it depend on our BMI??

Oh June 9th for me with Dr Fuller Scripps green hospital in la jolla...Its over two weeks away and super anxious..Congrats to everyone!!! Someone put, do you guys realize June is next month?? It seriously brings tears to my eyes, I want this so bad more than anything!
