  1. you have lost 90+ lbs in four months!!!!! that is amazing! stop complaining and enjoy the gorgeous healthy new you! I am so jealous, hope my weightloss is as swift and successful:)

I am 4 months out and a slow (sore) loser also! I stalled for 6 weeks and have since lost in 2 or 3 pound increments with 3 or 4 weeks in between. I DEFINITELY do not eat any where near what I ever did ! I focus on Protein first.

My typical day is as follows:

    B- Protein shake

    S- Greek yogurt

    L- chicken or tuna

    Dinner- chicken or Protein Shake.

Average calories in a day 7-900 hundred.

I am very frustrated at times, but I buckle down and see what I can do differently. I have added 30 to 45 minute walks now that the weather has gotten better in addition to Wii Step or Just Dance.

    The FAT HAS TO GO!

  2. Hi again, decided to go overseas for surgery! Will be gone for about 2-3 months and was wondering if anyone could offer me tips on what post-op foods, shakes, liquids you recommend to take with me. I am sure that there will be food stuff where I am going because of the amount of people having the lap-band and sleeve procedure done there. BUT, it is overseas and they do not have access to the world of quality products we have here in the U.S.A...please let me know what tastes good and what goes down well to take especially for the liquid and mushy part of the post-op diet. Bless you all and thank you in advance.

  3. Thank you for your reply shybaby:) It was very helpful...so how are you feeling? What are you eating? I have a one yr old and I was wondering, from your experience, how long do you think I will need help around the house and with her (lifting, feeding, bathing)before I can do it alone? Trying to make arrangements from now.

BTW, congratulations! I am so jealous!

I had my surgery with Dr. Almanza at Jerusalem hospital. I paid 4500 for the sleeve on 3-14-2011. The staff and doc were all wonderful. You stay one days in the hospital then you are moved to the guest house where you spend two days at with around the clock care. I went to Tijuana alone and i was fine coming and going back by myself.

  4. Thank you all for the feedback, I am very greatful to you all...a lot of important questions have been answered...I guess I have more research to do...plication vs sleeve!?!?!?! My biggest concern with the plication is the dying of stomach tissue and the fact as stated above, how do u check for ulcers/cancer. Very important argument. Only read about these complications from one patient on the web. Also the fact that the plication surgery is fairly new and there are no long term statistics. Long-term statistics are what have kept me from doing any surgery up til now, been waiting to see what happens with lap-band and then I waited to see with what happens with the sleeve and here I am still waiting! LOL! Arghhhhh!

  5. I dont even know where to begin! Leaning towards Mexico! If you had your surgery in Mexico.....

Who was the doctor who performed your surgery, at what hospital and what was your total out of pocket expence if you dont mind me asking. I will be paying cash and I am probably going to be traveling alone, would love any helpful tips on what, if anything I should take with me(for ex:Meds, shakes), I have done alot of research am just so overwhelmed with all the different options. I think I would like to do the Gastric Plication Surgery, since so many people are going that route after failed lap-band and it doesnt seem as invasive as the gastric sleeve because no part of the stomach is removed. I also dont know if I need to see a local physician...i was just reading about stress tests, etc. and I dont know if that is something taken care of there in Mexico post-op or what. I dont want to die on the operating table! I have no health conditions that I am aware of, good blood pressure, no diabetes, just fat! I am 37 yr old female and I weigh 240 lbs and I am sick of being fat all of my life and i dont care what anyone thinks anymore, people have been sabotaging me all my life and its time for a new start:) I have a 15 month old daughter that I wanna be around long enough to see her into adulthood. It would also be nice if I could keep up with her and not be ashamed to be naked around my husband...

    What are your thoughts?

Btw, thank you for your time, I really appreciate it:)

I went alone and had no problems. There are other surgical patients there to talk to if you want but I mostly slept, watched a little TV on the 3rd day. The nursing staff took good care of me and if I needed anything I just rang the call button. Travel was no problem either.
