  1. Stalls are apart of the process. Just put stall into the search feature and you will see. I normally stall every 10 pounds or so for about 2 weeks. Kick up the protein, water, and workout. Have a cheat day and dont stress

    Going Alone to Mexico

I went to MX by myself and it was a breeze. There are so many doctors and nurses to assist you PLUS your coordinator. Get a good phone card or Skype and you will be fine.
  5. When I lose. I lose big. 5/6 pounds a week then a stall. then the cycle repeats itsellf.
  6. Hi All! Thought I check in.... well I am about 14 weeks out and only down 53 pounds. I am happy with that though I thought it would be more. But I was having a talk with my girlfriend who said that a slower weightloss is what I need not to bring any sideeyes from my job (I work in public health in the obesity and physical activity field), to get my husband use to my changes (he has not complained that I am "too thin" yet.) She think the slow weightloss allows him to get use to my body in phases. He likes big women. He maaried me at my highest of 331. My hair is holding up. I have been keeping it braided up with either tree braids or a sew-in. When I do take it out, I deep condition and let it stay ot for about a week to see how or if it shedding. My skin look okay (my breast area is the worst). I told my hubby that I will propably get a breast job at the end of my journey I just came off a 9 day stall, so yes stalling does keep happing for me at least once a month. I haven' t worked out in about 23 days by doctors orders. I have a seperate condition that is demanding no physical activity until after my second round of meds are completed and I have another chest X-ray. So overall I am pleased. I know this is a marathon and not a race. My next overly ambitious goal is to be at 200 pounds by my daughter's 1st birthday July 6. I have 28 pounds to go. I don't think I will make it but shooting for it gives me motivation. I go back for my medical check up in 7 days, so I hope to get approval to workout. If I do, then I have a chance. hope you ladies are doing well and feeling great. Have a blessed day.
  7. When my weight gets to a standstill I mix it up by having a "cheat day." The increase (not over doing it) of carbs, fat, and calories for my body revs it up for my next round of weightloss. Since I always eat few carbs (less than 50 per day...) and hardly no fat, that's my shake up. On the flip side, it you haven;t been eating "right" but want to start as a way to shake up with your weightloss try eating protein and veggies only for a few days (and drinking only water). Don't worry about the calories but focus on getting at least 100 grams of protein (string cheese is a great protein snack, fish is packed with as much as 35g per serving, and subbing milk for soda adds 8g per serving). Eating protein and veggies sends the message to your body to burn fat not muscles, kicking it into overdrive. At least this is what has helped me.

    Mini-Goals, anyone????

I set mini goals very often. I had one to be 229 before my trip to Miami (this past weekend) and I was 228 at take off on Thursday. My next mini goal is my for July where I want to be 200. I know that ambitious but it motivates me.
  9. Just got back from Miami... not getting on the scale until Sat. I know I did some damage but I had a BLAST!

  10. Met my Miami goal and now I'm leaving on a jet plane!

    Sabotage....

I don't think its fair to ask him to change his eating habits because you have to. My husband is 6'0 and 141 pounds soak and wet. When I was 330 he loved me and now that I'm 230 he still loves and support me though he eats a box of little debbie snack cakes a day. We have asked them to sacrifice so much already. From our emotions, money for surgery, time, waiting us when we feel stuffed, that I don't think is fair to ask him to stop the pizza or cookies. I (though we are in different stages) don't disconnect myself from tiny sweets. When my husband eats icecream and asks if I want a taste, I get a taste and keep it moving. It makes him happy knowing I'm okay with his less than stellar eating habits.
  14. Hi All! Thought I come in and update. I was sleeved about 3 months ago and have lost 50 pounds. I am officially down 100 pounds since my hghest weight. People tell me I am a slow loser (I have a medical condition that restricts my physical activity for extended periods) but I am okay with that. As long as I am losing. I feel great. Hope all is well with you all!

  16. Met my Easter goal and 5 pounds to my Miami goal. 2 weeks in counting...

  17. My tops have gone from a 3X to a L but my bottoms have only gone from a 24 to a 20/18. I am losing breast faster than I would like, but the hips and thighs are still here. Maybe its just my body shape.

5 weeks post op - 18 years old

Congrats! You truly have your whole life ahead of you now!
  19. 50 pounds until I'm just "Overweight" Hoping to get there before November

  20. Happy Tuesday!

  21. I am so glad that I am not the only person feeling this way. I do think I am a slow looser but I am okay with that. People don;t ask too many questions and my skin is doing great. I went to visit my undergrad on Friday and all I heard was great things about how I look. I don't see it at all. BUT I will say that I wore some heels this weekend that were AWESOME and my feet did not hurt in 5 mins. 5 hours later was another story...lol.

    Dr Kelly

As a recent patient of Dr. Kelly, who booked with Sandy, I can tell this post is a complete fake. You are not provided survival bag upon arrival. I mean I literally LOL's when you mentioned a bunch of bul about "regarding my post op diet, gatorade, broth, lemon-glycerine swabs, chapstick, a Diet Minder diary to record my eating habits and information about Tijuana." Who gave you this bag? Trish? Sandy? PLEASE Trish does meet you at the hospital, and though she isn't my cup of tea, she isn't rude (but she is very religious). Dr. Romero makew no follow-up calls. Because of his schedule he ask that you join his post -op e-mail group and phone him if there are any major concerns. I have spoken to him once and gotten one general post op e-mail. What I think is happening here is Sandy is look for new biz. When I was in Mexico, Trish was getting ready to branch out into her own company. There is a whole thread dedicated to the shady coordinators and how it hurts Dr. Kelly, who is a WONDERFUL doctor. I hope this person is removed soon and this thread is terminated.
  23. It depends on the time you weigh also. I weigh myself at the same time (or close to) on Weds and Sat. I weigh less in the morning, sometimes by 2 pounds, then I do at night. Others are the other way around.
