  1. I wanted to come by and tell you how you lifted my spirits this morning. I was feeling down about only losing 73 pounds in 7 months. Angry at the freq stalls and I read some of your old post. I now feel like this is a phrase that will soon past and my hubby's goal of 185 i(he like thick girls) is one I can reach. Thanks for being AWESOME in every way possible. BTW- You look HOT!

  2. Top of the afternoon to ya!

  4. So you all probably haven't seen me around much lately. To tell the truth its because I have been down. Like really down on myself. I feel like I am failing my sleeve and not "working it" like I should. I have been at 210 for almost a month. I mean I go up 2 pound, down 2 pounds. My next mini Labor Day Goal is to get to ONEderland... 199. I have tried everything. I mean when I first posted my progress in the Labor Day Challenge group I went from 222 to 212 in like 2 weeks, But after that... just fizzle. So I shook it up a but with more fats, less carb. Lost 2 pounds that week. And now I am stalled. Last week I up'd my Water intake to about 100 oz a day. And I have been maintaining 210-211. This week I am uping the cardio again. I stopped this about a two months ago because I was stalling then. It seemed to work, so now I am hoping my 2 (40 min) a day workouts help. I know we can't look at other people and their progress, but I hope my body is not leveling out at 210. I would love to reach 100 pounds lost by 1 year (now in month 7) but I don't know. I hope I am not coming across like a cry baby or a remorseful sleever. I just want to be a champion again. If my body calls a quit at 100 pounds (hopefully in Jan 2012) I would be okay. But not now. We will see what the workouts and water does. My diet is pretty much 1200 cals a day give or take (sometimes as high as 1500 on weekends or 100o on tough work days). Thanks for listening.
  5. Hi All, Thanks for the responses. My Protein has always been high. It's the staple of my diet I get like 100g a day. I up'd my cal intake because before during my dreaded 5 month stall I was around 800 calories. The more I ate the more I lost. I only weigh on Weds and Saturday mornings. I think the workouts and Water is helping but I will just have to wait until Weds to see if there is a difference. I have read the boards and know that this to will come and go eventually, Just needed a place to vent. Thanks all.
  6. Note to self: NEVER compare myself to a sleeved man. He just blew me out the water and my mind! 133# in 5 months!

    Antimicobial Skin Cleaner

I use Hibiclens (sp) and love it. even after I was in the clear. It comes in a blue bottle. A little expensive but good.
  8. Make sure you contact your surgeon. They could let you know if you need to add a PPI. Make sure your diet is okay, and offer some support based off your medical needs.

    African American Sleevers

I also had problem with my veins in the hospital. The first week is the rough. And you will have rough weeks afterwards. I still have some bad days when I test my sleeve. But when you get to the 6 month mark, I think that's where it sinks in that it was all worth it.

  14. I've always loved breakfast casserole, but most of them are more bread than protein. Not this one! One serving (and I could only eat 1/2 a serving) has 140 calories, 12g of protein and only 3g of carbs. 1 1/2 cups ham (cubed or shredded) 6 oz plain Greek yogurt 1/4 cup crushed crackers (saltines/Ritz) 1/4 cup shredded cheese 2 tablespoons margarine 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion (I used onion flakes) 6 eggs Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray an 8x8 pan. Melt the margarine in a large bowl. Add the ham, yogurt, crackers, cheese and onion. Stir. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl, then stir into the first mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until center is firm. Let stand before serving. 9 servings. Source: Breakfast Casserole: High protein, low carb!
  15. I second the plain chicken breast with no bun and no sauce for about a buck. Great piece of protein on the run.
  16. I'm glad you have all us "meanies" figured out in the short month you've been apart of this "unsupportive" community. Your post clearly shows you know NOTHING about the VSG family and the tremendous support (and sometimes tough to swallow truths) given here. And thanks for pointing Tamz to your "other" site where the people are more "informed" and "loving." That you care not to mention.
  17. Congrats. We were sleeved around the same time and you reached ONEderland! I am still 11 pounds away. :-(. But one day I hope.

    Eating out professionally

I would order soups and desert. It masks the amount of food not eaten.

Labor Day - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

Checking in early.... SN..............219........213.......199....... 14 I may have to revisit my goal. My 4th goal was actually a July 17th goal since I started late and that's the hubby's birthday. I'll see where I am (hopefully past my current goal) then I'll set another Labor Day goal.
  21. The reason you don't see many (if any regretters) after 6 months is because IT GETS BETTER. No one attack Tam. Well, I certainly did not. But it looks like you have your mind made up and the solicitation of responses was for mere entertainment. TRUST me a person who is 2 days post op is not the BEST person to give you their opinion of the sleeve. You asked a very strong question. Has anyone WISHED they had not done it? My post was merely to point out that there is a series of stages post sleevers go through. Heck, if you look through some of my old post you will see my disdain. There are people who have had complications physically and mentally. Learning to eat all over again is not an easy feat. Heck, I just threw up my lunch yesterday because of a bread and steak combo. It seems like people who don't post from the "Amen Corner" are deemed bullies and "attacking." You make your decision based of a 2-day, 2- week, heck even 2 month sleever AND watch as they live their life getting better and better, thinner and thinner, while you wallow in the words of a dicsouraged newbie. #IJS
