One Day Pre-Op On Magnesium Citrate

I did well for about 2-3 weeks on a seld imposed pre op diet. But let loose the past 9 days lol. Just freaking out, and wanting my faves one last time. I'm certain I will rock my sleeve though I've got an awesome support network.

12 hours to go. Just drank my magnesium citrate... So if anyone feels a disturbance in the force, please excuse me lol. Kinda worried ti take it. Never had laxative before, and especially a whole bottle. Getting down to the wire never wanted to eat something more in my life not because I'm hungry but because it feels like I will never eat again or something. Guess just panicking and freaking out, who wouldn't want the emotional comfort food can bring.

Donna, thanks for your kind words, second guessing this decision all weekend, I know it's what I need to do but scared of the surgery, and the commitments, and basically change... My life is about to change drastically, tomorrow morning.

My egd went okay no ulcers or hernias I'm as always fit as a fiddle except for the extra 400+ pounds. My weight makes me more high risk but my weird lack of co morbities lowers the risk so I guess it's about even lol. My doctor said I'd probably have major health issues in next 5 years, that was in 2008. My biggest issues? Are all more quality of life issues. I have confidence my surgery will go well since I'm in pretty good shape internally, but that does not mean I'm not super nervous and freaking out this weekend.

Wow 18 people on July 2nd that's a LOT. 26 sleevers will be sleeved before the 4th of July -- how awesome is that? So many people getting their 'independence day'.....freaks the crap out of me how close this is though.... lol
  13. I know where you are coming from I was freaking out at my egd test today and an gehring more and more nervous as monday gets closer and closer... But I have no other option I refuse to be fat any longer, i would rather be dead. So that solves my while fear of dieing on the table. Still kinda feel like I'm about to enter food prison, ie having no control over what goes in my stomach and releasing that control to my nut and my body. But I'm going to do this and going to lose 300 pounds in my first year.
  14. So glad Supreme Court Upheld Obama's Healthcare plan : Without it I couldn't have insurance (pre-existing conditions) - I think every American should have access to health insurance if they can pay the premium.. My other option? Go to ER for colds, coughs, etc - and never pay the bill - instead I'll just charge it off to all the poor saps who do pay their health insurance bill and be a free-loader... seriously, though I don't mind paying my $170/month for the state-run High Risk Insurance Poo...

fyi i think the worst was where they placed my IV--not comfortable -inside of wrist. Second worst was the taste of the throat spray they used to numb. and I think I ate a bad lunch choice, cause my throat was still numb or something and now my throat is a little sore from the spaghetti sauce in my lasagne lol.. but oh well. I made it through...now I'm more worried about Monday..that's when the really scary stuff happens..the actual surgery!

Just got done with my egd I swear I was shaking I was so nervous. Then I bit down in something and next thing I know I'm being woken up then transferred to recovery. No pain or nausea, hardly felt like anything even happened. Dont know why I was freaking out so bad.
  17. I'm currently 660. I love chocolate, and I always find it extremely hard to NOT go out and eat, and eat at home instead. I work full-time and go to school full-time - so fast food is the easy out for dinner / lunch. I know that post-surgery, I won't be able to eat any of the things I love right now.. that kind of scares me a little - I know that's the point - I guess I just feel doubts about my ability to follow doctors orders and the plan.. to stay motivated/committed - especially when I'm eating with family and friends. I want this more than anything and to be successful, I also am really nervous/scared about the surgery - this will be the most invasive surgery I've had since my tonsillectomy in 88'. Anyone else here have doubts about being able to commit post surgery? How did you deal with them? Do you still have cravings for sweets? FYI - I just met with nutritionist, psychologist, and exercise physiologist last week. My surgery will be in the next month or two, I'm assuming. The sooner the better - so I can at least be done with the Anxiety - and get started living.

Need Usa Sleeve Surgeon Advice Asap...

Drs. Schumaker and Brown in Dayton ohio do self pay - roughly 20k, 2400 for surgeon, 1400 for anesthetist, 16500 for hospital. I would highly recommend them.
  21. This is the week, I feel like my journey REALLY began. I began a self-imposed liquid diet(mostly liquid anyhow). I got my surgery date! (July 2nd Yay!) I lost 10 pounds. I have been really pushing myself to workout. I just got back from krogers where I parked at the back of the parking lot, and walked as long as I could inside before getting a shopping cart to lean on - and then I couldn't find what I was looking for so literally spent like 25-30 minutes walking today.. Now last week I couldn't walk around the block. I've also been doing Ultimate Fighting Challenge on Xbox Kinect almost nightly, and am trying to start up turbo-jam. After I get through w/ turbo-jam I'm going to begin doing P90X - that'll be um...interesting. Each night before bed I do stair pushups as well and squats in front of the stairs(so I can fall back and sit down when I need to lol). I started w/ 5 stair pushups and am now at 20 on the 6th stair up. When I get to 50 I'm moving down a stair. My diet has been really good and I just feel really on track and motivated...though could always use more SVs and NSVs lol to keep me motivated - I just hope I'm building a lot of muscle which will weigh more but in the end help me lose more too. I'm attaching my weekly food/exercise journal - I think I did pretty good...except for Friday and Saturday. Each day is a new day, and I'm finding this forum to be a HUGE wealth of information and motivation. I think the forum is almost as good as the surgery itself! - -well not the forum, but the people in it, and the community here. Thanks for welcoming me!
