    From quest to journey

Thanks, I'm totally ready for this. You know "in for a penny, in for a pound"

    From quest to journey

Your right it's a progression of stages.
  4. As I await insurance approval (fingers crossed), I've been thinking about this journey. I'm not sure you'll agree with me but it really begins as a Quest. A quest for health is the first priority, but then it morphs into something quite different. A quest for the right surgeon, a quest for the right psych evaluation, cardiac, endocrine, sleep study, nutritionist, gastroenterologist and others I've probably left out. After all this is accomplished, the dreaded wait for insurance approval or waiting until you can afford to pay for surgery out-of-pocket. If anyone ever says to me "your not serious about loosing weight" again, I'm going to explain in detail the process for WLS. So if you agree with me or not the Journey begins as a Quest.

    VSG Dietary Guidelines

Thanks so much for the diet info, this is another great source for planning post-op eating. My nutritionist who works with the surgeons office was kind of scattered in her info and has a post-op program, but this one is so much more comprehensive. I have a medical background and this should not seem to be so hard , WRONG! I'm really concerned about post-op diet, fluids, proteins and vitamins. I know a lot of this is anxiety but this info helps, again many thanks. Mona:thumbup:

    How is the swelling post-op?

Thanks so much for the feedback!
  7. Hi, New to this site and have sooo many questions. Just got a surgery date Aug.27,2010 along with lots of emotions, mostly positive. But, I have a really wacky question. Do you need very loose clothes to go home in as result of swelling post-surgery? I'll have to travel in a car and want to be as comfortable as possible on the way home. Thanks, Mona:thumbup1:
