    hic-ups?

I get them too, and if I even eat 1 more bite after the first hiccup, I have gone too far and pay for it. It's my warning signal.
  2. I would like to change the word oldtimers to WLS veterans, and ask for forgiveness.
  3. I have lost 100 lbs and yes I have excess skin. Like Tiff, I would rather have loose skin than all the fat rolls. I am not too discouraged at this point. I have been told by many oldtimers that the first yr or so after you reach goal. The skin tightens some and the rest of the fat in your body redistributes some. So, it may get better.

An NSV worthy of a post.

    That's awesome! WTG
  7. My daily focus was on fluids. My dr told me that as important as the protein was, that it was more important to stay hydrated. So, I pushed liquids and took in as much protein as I could. If I tried to push in too much at one time, not only was I miserable but it would often come back up. So, I listened to my body. I promise, it does get easier.

  9. I went through the same thing with feeling too full. It was several weeks before it got any easier. It took me forever just to take my night time meds because I felt full after chasing each pill down with Water. As I started to heal and the swelling started to go away, it got better. I don't know if you have tried having your drinks at different temperatures. But, I did much better with cold than I did with warm. sugar free popcicles and snowcones helped me get fluids in. For some reason, plain water hit my stomach like a brick. Crystal light, SF koolaid and stuff like that worked best for me. If cold doesn't work for you, try warm tea or hot cocoa. These first few weeks are the hardest. Good luck.
  10. WOW, you are doing a great job. It's wonderful that you are setting such goals for yourself. WTG

    My VSG Journey!

You're off to a great start and I look forward to your progress. @Deb - you can't fool us. We all know you are lover not a hater. LOL
  12. I didn't lose very much this month (8 lbs.) however I did lose another 13 inches. This brings my total weight loss to 88.2 lbs. and my total inches lost to 67.25. This is still a wild trip and everyday is a new adventure in learning. But, I guess the most important thing is that I am still finding new info all the time. I can't help but wonder sometimes how I would have done this without the internet. I shudder to think of going through this without the knowledge and support I get here. Thanks to all of you for being here, giving me feedback, support, warm thoughts and prayers. You guys help me so much. (((hugs)))
  13. Italian food had always been a fave and my all time fave is lasagna. I have been very good not to eat too many carbs, but more than that had heard horror stories from ppl who ate Pasta and were in pain. Well, today I had a lovely lasagna. Instead of using lasagna noodles, I used Won Ton wrappers. Like pasta, they are a flour based noodle. Because they are so thin, though, you don't get a huge ball of pasta in your belly. Also, because they are so thin, you don't have to precook them. It's great because you still get the texture you love, and the ability to stack, without carb overload. Heck, you could use them to make ravioli or any other pasta dish you like. Nom-Nom!

    Lasagna Lover - READ THIS

    That would work perfectly.
  15. I have RLS and take medication for it. You are not crazy, you can get it in your arms too. RLS can be triggered in some ppl after the trauma of surgery, etc. Also, it is ALWAYS worse at night. If you don't have a reduction in symptoms within the next week, I would suggest seeing a dr that treats RLS. Best of luck to you.
  16. My goal is 140 and I am 5'7". Great job, Nannie.

    Liver Cleanser

I didn't. I never heard of a liver cleanser. But, I would think it's a good idea as the whole point of the pre op diet is to help shrink and "deslime" your liver.
