    Frustrated.....

I think losing sleep over the process is one of the prerequisites. Just keep in mind that as stressful as this process can be, it is going to change your life forever for the better. Hang in there and prove to them that you won't give up.

    Alcohol

I know this is gonna sound weird, but lots of things are different since I got sleeved. I used to be able to drink big men under the table. Now if I have 1 drink I'm buzzed. If I have a 2nd drink too soon, I am FUBAR. But, here's the weird part. If I go pee, I'm sober again. So, if you notice some girl at the party doing the "pee dance", it's me!

    Size

Vanity sizing, also known as size inflation is used to refer to the phenomenon of ready-to-wear clothing of the same nominal size becoming larger over time. Vanity sizing tends to occur in places where clothing sizes are not standardized, such as the United States, although within the United States it occurs far more frequently in women's apparel than in men's, partly due the widespread and far earlier adoption of standardized measurement for men's apparel for military uniforms (where, for example, a pair of trousers with a 32" waist and a 32" inseam must be labeled as such regardless of who made it).

    Please Advise about odor

Isn't there a small amount of urea in sweat? My understanding was that there is and that's why for example after a heavy workout if it gets on your clothes, it quickly breaks down into ammonia, which you can smell. I'd appreciate any additional info you have on this. I try to learn as much as I can about this stuff. Thanks

    Doctor's

My PCP has been like my biggest cheerleader. Every time I go in for a visit, he goes on and on about how well it's working. He is the one who recommended my bariatric surgeon, who I adore.
  13. If you haven't had any adverse reactions, I wouldn't worry about it.
  14. Thank you so much. Don't be jealous, you are well on your way.

  19. Questions: 1) How long have you been sleeved? Almost 13 months 2) Who was your surgeon? Dr. Wade Barker (Dallas) 3) What were your experiences with your surgeon? very good, he is so kind and his staff is exceptional. 4) Would you recommend your surgeon? yes 5) How much weight have you lost since your sleeve date? 124 lbs. 6) What type of sleeve do you have? VGS 7) Would you recommend the type of sleeve you have? indeed! 8) Do you find you still have the necessary level of energy to sustain a good workout? not initially but now, yes. 9) Do you find it difficult to keep the weight off once you have lost it? so far, so good. not rebound weight as of yet. 10) Do you have trouble eating, such as getting stuck? yes. I still have trouble with very dense Protein. 11) What is the one things about getting the surgery that you regret? that I didn't do it sooner. 12) Would you do this surgery again, or would you have made another choice? even though I had complications and had buyers remorse in the beginning. I would to it again in a heartbeat. I know this was the right procedure for me. The more I have learned about different types of WLS, the more I am convinced that my choice was the right one.

    Spa day?

I have had several abdominal surgeries, and for some reason after having VSG, I couldn't lay on even on my side for almost 2 months, much less my stomach. Everyone heals at different rates though, you'll know when it's ok to have the massage.

    I'm SO Ready

I remember feeling that way. Worried about losing the excitement. But, even though I did lose some of it, when surgery finally rolled around, the excitement was back in a big way. Don't worry too much about that (I know easier said than done). Enjoy your trip to Memphis and enjoy that farewell "peanut butter 'n nanner sammich" LOL.
  23. You should get instructions about that when you leave the hospital. Many doctors have you start at different times, just like they often have different rules about introducing foods back into your diet. It's tough for most to get all of the vits, protein and liquids in early on. It gets easier.

    I'm All Bloated!!

It was the same for me. My stomach was so swollen that I couldn't bend and yes I felt like I was pregnant too. As far as the liquids go, try hot vs. cold. To this day, really cold water feels like a brick when it hits my stomach. Not other liquids, just water. It takes a while for the swelling and bloating to go away. Don't panic either if you gain a few pounds while so swollen. That is normal too. On day 4 after my surgery, I was up 26 lbs. I totally freaked, lol. When the swelling started going down, so did the weight. We are all different, some ppl don't swell much and lose right away. Hang in there and be assured that if you follow your plan as given by your doctor, you'll lose weight and feel better soon.
