  1. Thank you all sooooo MUCH!!!!!!!! Tiff I miss being in here too, yet with my work schedule, and finding out I like to get out more now, not enough hours in the day!! I'm doing things I hadn't done in years!! My job performance has improved tremendously- and even my store manager has commented on it! ( that's always a PLUS when it come to evaluation time!! ) I'm getting out and meeting new people and running into old people that don't even reconize me!! ( such a NSV!!!) I've been out to a few clubs, and have men come up and talk to me!! Wooooooo Hooooooo!! I've even been out dancing!! OMG...... didn't know if I still knew how to dance hehehe!! Pumpkin- I thought I read someone had my surgersary date- and all I can say... is if I can do it so can you and anyone else!! I just follow the "rules"- yet I found out I don't like red meat anymore- but thats ok- My cholestrol prior to surgery was 350- it is now 118, so I don't need the red meat. He wants the # under 100. I think I would have made goal if I exercised, but shame on me, I havn't found a good routine for me. That is my next goal to get back to exercising. I met a friend that wants to work out together- I have a home gym and still don't work like I should at it. And this year I will quit smoking...... just not promising when, but I am ready to put them down... just have to get my head in the right place. I forgot to update my ticker!! Look at the BMI!!! I'm almost "normal"!!!:wink0:

    Why am I hungry.

I just have to add another comment to this.... It seemed like I was obsessed with food in the beginning........would think of all kinds of things that I wanted to eat all the time. Once the weight starts coming off, and you get a 'healthier' outlook, the head hunger also seems to go away... at least it did with me. I'm not obsessed with food any more, I have a healthier relationship with it...... it now is fuel for my body. Don't get me wrong, I still make some bad choices, and if I go to a buffet, I think I can eat EVERYTHING that appeals to my eyes.......... but then when I sit down to eat...... it does not apeal to my tummy- and here I sit with this large plate of food that I know I can't eat.. so I still have that "unhealthy" mentallity. thinking I want to get my moneys worth!! LOL I have decided that I don't eed to go to buffets, I just need to order off the menu. It is a daily stuggle to change the years of my eating habits, but am getting better... I know this probably sounds like I'm contradicting myself... I may not have explained it right... I have the 'good' side of me and the 'bad' side.. but I don't have hunger or obsess........ but certain times that 'bad' side still wants to show their self.

    Is Broth a Protein Source?

I LOVED the unjury chicken broth!! I still use it! More protein than the 'cans' and less sodium.
  6. Hi there Angel- How far out are you? Not that it really matters......You just have a "small" setback.... but here's my advice... pick yourself up, dust yourself off..... and go back to basics. You need to make sure you are drinking PLENTY of Water, and eating 3 x's a day........ Protein first!! You didn't say'what' you are eating.....but start keeping a journal of what you're eating, and WHY. Are you bored?? Emotional?? etc..... Keep track of cals, carbs and protions and times you are eating... being aware of whats going on around you is half the battle. You can do this!! You're not a failure..... just a set back and we all have stalls!! G'luck and if you just wanna vent you caan always PM me!!

    Why am I hungry.

Amerigirl.... I questioned this too after my surgery. But I hve to tel you...... it DOES go away!! In the first few months I struggled with this. All I can say is follow the rules, eat the SF Jello, SF popsicals....... DRINK LOTS of Water, and try to get your mind off of food. I know it's easier said than done, but it DOES pass!! The first 3-4 month was difficult for me, but I stayed with the "program" and lost the majority of my weight during this time!! You can do this tooo!! As long as you have the right mindset.......... it can be done!!

Let's get this singles forum going!

I don't know if mine is a "success" story... way tooo early to tell!! It's really strange tho- he lives just an hour way, but his job is demanding. When we started talking he was in Alaska........ then he had to go to TX........ and Then NY. He is now in 'TN.. at least till June or July. Just my luck to find a guy close by, but was gone!! Gotta admit, it being so new to me and "dating" again...... HAS made me feel alive! And if I get my heart broken, all I can say is at least I'm trying and not gonna give up. I want more in my life. Daisy- I understand you completly!!! I never dreamed I would talk to someone-yet alone meet them that lives so close by!! I too have felt like I would 'grow old' alone....... but I'm not settling for that!! I too am at a loss on how to find anyone where I live. so thats why I decided to "go for it" with this guy!! Wish me luck ladies......... 'cause I feel I need it, and the support here is wonderful.....Thank you all!!

Let's get this singles forum going!

Yes, I'm single too. I have been talking with a man for 2 months now and we met last night. And it was WONDERFUL! He is just like he is on line....... looks- attitutde everything! My first time doing this....... so am cautious. Plus I have built such walls around me...... hard to get past that. We were suppose to have another date tonight, but the weather here is horrible... and he lives an hour away. Winter snow advisary, we're suppose to have 6-10 inches ... and sleet and ice...... so I don't want to ask him to drive in this.... I will probably tell him we need to re schedule, because I do want to see him again! Sighhhhhh...... even if I get my heart broken, I will be ok... at least now I am willing to take "chances" again!

    NSV shout outs

I had an NSV a few times this week- I have had several people tell me I am losing tooo much weight.... and when I tell them I still have 29 pounds to lose they freak out! I havn't told many my "starting" weight... but when I tell them I am 190 pounds which is still"overweight"............. they kinda get it.... So My NSV is this.......... they try to guess my wieght before I tell them............ and ALL 3 of them said 160-165:laugh0: These are all different people and not guessing at the same time.............. and one of them was a man!!! Might be BS................ but it gave me the big head!!! LOL

    Monday Morning Weigh In

DeeDee- You're an early bird!! Thought I was gonna beat you on here this morning!! Congrats on the inches...... and Holy Moly- at 6 months you are almost at goal?? Thats Fantastic!!! I won't make Goal... but I had 194 pounds to lose, so I'm not getting all freaked out about it.. I'm happy with the loss I have and am just taking it slow now. I do know I need to eat more, thats alot of my problems. I think I'm going into starvation mode, and I have to kick that and get back to eating more protein. I drink plenty of water, but I forgt to eat, and then when I do, I've been getting sick again. Drum role pleassssssssseeeeeeeeeee......... This mornings weight is............... 189.4 Out of the '90's!!! I use to measure every Monday too, but got away from it, but measured this morning... Won't give ALL the measurements I take... I started 1 year ago with my measurements 1/12/09 1/25/10 Neck-20................14 Bust 55..................38 Waist 59...............38 Hips 64..................43 Thighs 52..............37 Still got a ways to go...... but I'm ok with things.... Feb 9th is my 1 year sugerversary.
  18. No, slimming can happen to all of the surgeries. I slimmed for 3 months when I got sleeved. And will still vomit it I eat tooo fast, or too big of bites. And I'm 11 months out.

    Hello

Hi Mike- Welcome to VST and the boards!! Congratulations on your surgery Date- Feb.9th is my 1 year surgerversary!!!! I'm a smoker tooo- my doc wouldn't do the surgery unless I was quit for a month. He gave me Chantix and it worked ( probably because I wanted the surgery so bad!! ) Unfortunatly- I went back to smoking.... but thats one of my goals for this year- be ready to put them down again. I did quit for 12 weeks......... Good luck! And keep us posted on how things are going!
  20. I'm gonna be perfecly honest here... Failure was NOT an option.... I know that sounds stoopid......... but when I had my surgery I wasn't a member of any site regarding this surgery. So in a way...... I think that was a good thing. I didn't compare myself to anyone....... I just KNEW I had to lose. I lost 100 pounds in 4 months.......... but I am one of the "heavy weights"..... I have lost a total of 164 pounds and still have 30 to lose but am not sweating it... I can't eat breakfast- I still get sick if I eat "food" early. so I have a Protein drink for breakfast. I'm struggling myself here lately because I'm not hungry and don;'t want to eat. But You have to eat in order to lose......... and I am failing in that department. I do drink at least 80 oz of Water every day. I will have Soup or tuna for lunch and dinner because I like them and it ez for me since its just me to cook for. But like I said....... I may eat lunch. and skip dinner...... not good............I just don't want to eat
