@CowgirlJane I am doing fine. I have had several surgeries not related to WLS and on top of that had to have my sleeve revised to the Bypass because the GERD was literally killing me. But since then I have been good, except I have to stay more diligent with my vitamins and supplements. As long as I'm doing that, I'm doing good! :) I am a little above my goal but as I always do I am working on me. My next adventure will be TAKING MY FINAL STEPS! To get skin removal. I am hoping that can happen soon. Xx

  6. when does the time come when you can start enjoying losing weight?

    1. LilMissDiva Irene

      LilMissDiva Irene

For me it took until I was feeling 100%. It's hard to be happy about losing when I don't feel good. Hang in there, it does get better.

The toughest days pre-op. Even more than waiting for "the big day" IMO

  8. Waiting to hear back from the surgeons office for my surgery date! Can't wait to hear from them.

  9. So I went to my consult on the 5th and the office says my Coventry Advantra medicare Louisiana excludes WLS when they call customer service. I push so they call back and it's BMI >35 with 2 comorbids. But what if I had left? Then she wanted me to get the records from my PCP. Now she says she'll try once but then it's on me. She has 200 patients and she also isn't going to photo copy 2 inches of paper work. (they want last 2 years). So i'm redoing my sleep study tomorrow. That's 1. But all my labs over the last 2 years are normal. So is my blood pressure. I'm pre diabetic and my blood pressure is controlled with HCTZ. I am on atorvastatin for my cholesterol and that has kept it between 195 - 209. My LDL is great and always has been. So last chance - arthritis. I was treated 10 years ago at a pain clinic. MRIS whole bit. They no longer have my records. New law, you can destroy them after 6 years. So my PCP probably has me complaining about my back but I weaned myself off the duragesic patch and narcotics years ago. He doesn't treat my arthritis. Am I doomed?

Your insurance seems really tough to get around. See if your surgeon can find ways to make "justifications"... good luck.

  10. Kind of having a bit of a breakthrough right now! I just realized that for the first time in my adult life, I am in the "Overweight" category and not the "Obese/Morbidly Obese" column. Kind of want to cry! =D

Wow that is awesome! Congrats on your success :)

  12. The good news is. the longer you are in the WLS community, the easier it is to ignore inflammatory posts and people.

@Jim1967 that is only partially true for myself. I've been around since 2007 and though I started here with LBT then over the years I have branched out to Facebook or Instagram more. I do still come here occasionally and mostly chat with the very new folks looking for support or newly operated. I don't divulge conversation in the Lounge and especially R&Rs. I am solely here for support while remembering we were all new at one time.

  14. Happy New Year! May your 2015 be full of hope, promise and good health.

  15. I'm finally approved. Surgery scheduled for 12/22/2014

  16. Officially size 16! I have tampered with size 18 too long to realize that they just don't do justice to this fine body any longer :P

The smaller sizes also go faster too so be prepared to keep changing those sizes in more often! :) Congrats to you!
