About Me

Had my Gastric Lapband placed in 2003, the hose became disconnected in late 2007. I finally could get it fixed in 2008. I was having spasms under the port for awhile. This caused me to go back to doc, he discovered the port was disconnected from the hose, and the hose was in my pelvis. He put in a new smaller port, as he saw no hernia, and thought maybe, this was the problem. About 4 months after that surgery I started to have these spasms again, but not very often. The doc in PHX would not touch me, as he was not the one who placed it or fixed it. Then in 2013, the pain was so bad I went to the ER. The catscan showed a hematoma on my spleen. The ER Bariatric doc said ... it needs to come out.  When he got in there, the port was completely engulfed by scar tissue. The hose was wrapped around my spleen. He discovered it was not a hematoma, but built up scar tissue on my spleen  caused by the friction of hose, when I would eat. Spleen was not removed. Even though the band is gone... I have suffered and suffered with pain from the spasms. They have gotten worse through the years. After millions of scans, test etc. I believe the Lapband caused the damage to my stomach. I can not wait to go to the neurology appt... The area right next to the belly button is the spot, plus my whole left side to under my ribs, to my pelvic area... I have had this issue since at least 2007, It has gotten way worse then when it started, I pray to God I am right with the problem...Anterior cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome... this can cause different issues as well... biggest problem is people get diagnosed with all sorts of stuff.. I have complained and complained through the years, have had a million scans with nothing found,... looking for a reason and a fix... for 13 yrs has not been fun, and most Dr's just look at you like your nuts, or a hypochondriac, or a liar. I can guarantee you this ... I am not lying, and what I have called spasms for yrs... is exactly that... irritating that nerve ! So glad I went back to the Bariatric who took out my band... because he is the first one to say nerve damage. We shall see...... Many suffer from this issue, with no explanation. I think I found the problem !!!!
