    Goals out loud

I'm in the Upstate. It's great to see someone else close. How long has it been since your surgery?
  3. I called first thing and just got a call back. The surgeon does not require me to stop. In a way I'm glad because I know I'm going to get super stressed once it gets close. I am going to get chantix when I have my appt and start it a week before surgery so hopefully I'll come home from the hospital and be able to not smoke. Yeah another goal lol
  4. I have tried to quit so many times but failed miserably. My husband smokes so its very hard when I see him smoking. Maybe this time will be different. This is the first time I have a reason that motivates me. I'm still planing to call the Dr on Monday to confirm so I will post what the result is then. Who knows I may quit even if they don't require. I know it is the best thing to do it will only make the healthier
  5. Is that the electronic cigarettes I've seen advertised? Where do you purchase?
  6. I guess I will be calling the office on Monday morning to find this out for sure. They close early on Fridays. Ugh I hope they don't require 8 weeks because they said my surgery is going to mid October but I will find out for sure on Monday. I appreciate all the replies.
  7. My situation is that my insurance requires 3 co morbidity factors if your BMI is below 40. I only have 1 that's been medically documented. I'm only borderline on another so if my insurance is to cover the surgery I have to stay at 40 BMI or wait for my health to decline enough so it kinda sucks. Also they do not turn in my final paperwork to the insurance company until my first appointment with the surgeon. So until that day my weight needs to stay exactly what it is. I was told today that next Wednesday they will schedule my appointment and it should be within a week. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I only have the next 2 weeks to worry over this.
  8. That's a good idea minus the shoes they make you weigh barefoot but I will make sure I wear something to help.
  9. How do I get the weight tickers I see on so many post? Secondly I am always attached to my iPhone or iPad so if anyone can suggest some apps that are good for tracking weight, food & Water intake or anything else that would be good to have. I literally spent 10 hours on here yesterday just trying to soak up as much as I can. I have a bit of OCD lol and I can't stand not being 100% prepared. Even though I don't have my surgery date yet I want to be ready for post op in advance. I hope you have some ideas to share. Thanks so much in advance
  10. I'm going to download it now. Thanks
  11. I haven't got my date yet it's looking like mid to late October. I'm so ready!! Thanks for the encouragement.
  12. Wow so amazing. I hope I have success like that. Congrats to you!!!!!!
  13. Now I gotta see if it works lol
  14. I do not have a date yet but I did get my list of requirements from the office. It's so crazy my insurance requires the psych eval and that's it. But the Drs. office has a whole list of requirements. I have to attend 10 support groups, endoscope, h pylori a test and abdominal X-ray and ultrasound and a ton of bloodwork. I had the scope ultrasound and h pylori a tests done in June during a hospital stay so they are trying to get the records now so I can avoid the repeat. I also am required to do a full 4 week post op Opti Fast only prep. I am not thrilled to find out I have to pay $125 a week for 4 weeks to prep for surgery. The do not give you an option of any other prep. Has anyone had to do the opti fast for a month prior? I'm hoping to get my date when I go in on Tuesday, from what I was told this week it should be around the mid to end October.

It would be great to be a little prepared and have someone to talk to. I don't have any support at home as of now, hubby is so against the surgery. Anyways if anyone is close id be greatful.
